Tinker woke me up at 8 this morning. The little bugger. Right after I got up the phone rang. Scammers are starting already. Doing a load of laundry today. That's it. I'm always busy on weekends. Have some cooking to do tomorrow & the normal dusting.

Good morning grannies, it's another cloudy and a slight chance of rain. There was a quick peek at the sun late yesterday, today looks like yesterday with temps in the low 70s
Laurie, I did hear someone yelling this morning?? wondered what was happening. Back to school for you! Happy Birthday to #2.
IC week ends can get busy or boring so just do enough to not get bored. The work can wait.Use those feel good times to whatever you want to do. Sounds like you enjoy some cooking time.
I'm going to the church for lunch, it's a little get together for the former pastor and wife. It started as a women's lunch I don't know when or why it was changed but I plan to be there. I'll take the Hawaiian sandwiches as my contribution to the lunch menu. They are usually well received by most people and easy to make. DD is making them for me. Someone is picking me up I only have one thing to do, be ready on time, I'll try to manage that.

Good morning. Partly cloudy this morning, warm with just a little humidity. But it was still nice enough for Mandy and I to tootle around the park. We haven't done that in quite some time. It's going to be hot the next few days so we took advantage of the nicer weather this morning.
The sheets are in the washer, Mandy is down for her nap and I'm enjoying my second cup of coffee and an apple fritter. About all I have planned for today is finish the Christmas cards I started yesterday. I need to get the inside verse inside. Well, as soon as I think of what I want it to say. I don't send out many cards anymore due to the high cost of stamps but this year I would like to get some to the few family members I have and a couple friends that still stay in contact.
Grammy what are in those sandwiches? It sounds interesting to me.
IC, thankfully Mandy doesn't wake me up. I pretty much wake up on my own between 6:30 and 7. I like to get her out before the heat rolls in.
Laurie, have a good day at school. I'm so glad I'm done with that.

Good morning, cloudy, no sunshine at all and I don't think we're going to have any today. It supposed to be in the upper 60's for the next several days. I'm not sure if we're to get any rain or not. Yesterday was busy..cleaning, shopping, kitchen food prep etc.
LAURIE Enjoy the kiddo's today.
ICOOK Tinker said it's time to get up and we know fur baby's rule. LOL
GRAMMY Enjoy the luncheon and fellowship. Isn't it nice that much of the work is being done for you! I know you'll have a good time, you always take Joy with you.
MAMMA The Christmas cards will soon need to be in the mail. The year is quickly passing and a new one will be here. Stamps really are skyrocketing. I'm sure the special family members and friends will enjoy the personal time and effort you put into making them.
ICOOK The weekend is almost here and didn't we just have one? LOL Time goes so fast! most of the time, except when we're anxious for it to pass. LOL Tinker was missing you. LOL Bet she needed to do her outside duty.

Good Morning Ladies - - - Another day, off & running! It's 64 and cloudy here now. I slept late again and didn't get up until about 9:45 - I don't know why, but I have been so tired lately. I sleep late and am ready to nap in the afternoon, and still feel tired. Yesterday, I put in a call to the cancer center where I usually have a check up in Sept. - I wasn't sure if I just didn't know when my appt. was, or if I needed to make that appt. Well, I did need to make it, so that will now happen in Oct. and then I called the Mayo store to order more CAPA supplies. I placed a grocery order and went and got that and was able to get the things in the house without help. Brought the first bag in, and rested a bit before I went back for the second bag. This was a smaller order with some of the 2 day specials, and other stuff that I forgot last time or didn't get. Last night for supper I cut some chicken breast in small pieces and stir fried it with some broccoli and that the last tomato with it. It was a very tasty meal and a change of what I usually do. I have chicken left, so tonight I think I will just roll in flour and brown and maybe a potato and some carrots with it. Will see what I feel like at the time. Laurie, Happy Birthday to#2 - hope you get to talk to him with your special wish! Hope the day go's well at school. IC, I hope you and tinker have a nice day together. Grammy, how nice to have the luncheon to go to today - lunch will be special with your good sandwich's, but the fellowship will be even better. Mamma, how special your cards will be to those special receiving them. I made mine for a couple of years when I was doing them. Now I have the time but not so much on the ambition and not a place to get the stuff all out and leave out. I need to find someone who can or would use them instead of taking up space. Ellie, are you making a special dessert for tonight? Hope the kids will be coming to visit.

GREENBACK You've done a lot of running today but it sounds like you accomplished what you wanted to. I'm another one getting tired and sleeping a little later. I'm blaming the darker mornings and evenings. LOL

Good afternoon to all. It is another beauty of a day here in IL and I hear it is the same back home. Mike has an unexpected day off tomorrow which is most welcome. We will stay here tonight and drive to Emmett's football game which is in Pacific, MO, only about 50 miles from here. We will get to see him play for the first time this year and then travel home. Mike has an appointment for lab work as a check up on his incident from two weeks ago on Monday morning, so we will have Sunday night at home. Next week will be a busy one. I will come back with him Monday afternoon, drive my car back to Missouri on Tuesday afternoon in time to see Drew's first middle school basketball game, then go on home for the night. Wednesday I have my mammogram and gynecology appointment and a few other stops to make while I am at home on a weekday. I haven't decided if I will come back here on Wednesday or stay one more night at home to be able to go to Drew's second cross country meet in Steelville on Thursday. Steelville is also on the route up here to IL, so I may just do that. Time will tell.
It looks like Mike won't be taking the new job that would double his salary. We don't want to move his surgery date of November 6 and they don't think they will be able to get it done in that amount of time, and may not be able to get anyone to come in an substitute for him when it would be time for him to leave, so he will stay at the current job to close it out and we hope it might be at least into the first week of October so we can at least get some use out of the last month's rent here at our "summer home". Time will tell on that, too. He feels bad about not being able to take advantage of the opportunity, but he definitely needs to get the surgery sooner rather than later.
Laurie, happy birthday to #2! Hope the second graders treat you well today.
IC, scam/spam phone calls make me so mad. I do try to answer some of them and request that my number be taken off their list, but that doesn't work all the time. I get really mad when I answer and they don't respond, so I tell (yell at) them, "why call me if you are not going to answer?" and hang up.
Grammy, I have no doubt your sandwiches will be a welcome contribution to the church luncheon. Enjoy!
Mama, your post reminded me that I need to get some stamps. Glad the weather has moderated for you.
Elle, you deserve a day of doing what you want to do, when you want to do it, after your busy day yesterday! The recliner I call Mike's is what I call "dangerous"--whenever I sneak into it during the day when he is gone, my eyelids seem to close!
Jane, your stirfy sounded so tasty--except for the tomatoes--I love tomatoes most anyway, but don't like them roasted or stirred into other things in a skillet--unless they are in sauce form. Something about the texture for me, I think/guess. Are you thinking about some more physical therapy for your legs/knees? I don't know if punches are part of yours and Mama's card-making supplies, but that is what I ended up using to get pictures in Amelia's 100-year old locket. I got the local UPS store to downsize a photo I had of Aunt Alice when she was young and Amelia's school picture as it was such a good headshot, then I found a punch at Hobby Lobby the approximate size of the locket's openings, and went from there. I was back and forth to the UPS store several times as it took several tries to get it right, once it was on too thick a paper and the locket wouldn't close! I also wanted two different sizes of punches as one side of the locket's opening was a bit bigger than the other, but couldn't find just the right size and it is so tiny anyway that everytime I tried to cut the right size circle, it looked too messy. So, I just went with the same size picture on both sides and it was a nice surprise for Amelia to get it back with pictures inside and the adults at last week's birthday party thought it was very special. I am glad that project is over--I am NOT crafty and those little pictures were just ever so slightly bigger than a paper hole punch, so it was delicate and tedious work!
Time to get the bike ride done. I have copycat Crumbl Cosmic Brownie cookies cooling on the counter, had my early morning walk, changed the sheets on the bed and did another load of laundry and ran to Academy Sports already. They have an extra 50% off their clearance summer active wear, shoes, gear, etc., and I picked up a couple of shirts for me to wear while I walk and also a couple for birthday and Christmas gifts. Also got some nice beach towels which DMIL has agreed to personalize with her embroidery machine for me. They will go as gifts to my pen pal and her entire family in France as they recently built a pool. It is always so hard to think of things to send to them that won't break, I don't have to worry about fitting, won't spoil in transit, etc. I have also already gotten a couple of unique coffee mugs with "Missouri" on them and going to get some locally roasted coffee to send. Other ideas are welcome. I also have a couple of gifts for the three grandchildren she has.
Wishing all a fantastic Friday.

Washed a load of laundry & had my lunch That's it for today. I'm taking Tinker outside for a little while. More nasty storms this afternoon like yesterday, so I want Tinker to go potty before they start.
Elle You asked me the other day if Tinker stays in bed with me all night. Most of the time she does. Occasionally she'll go to the couch or recliner to sleep.

Debbie - I guess I wasn't very clear - I did not put the tomato in the chicken/broccoli. I just had that sliced on the side with just a bit of sugar on it.
