Another beautiful morning with clear skies and sunshine. Staying warm today then the cool down will be here for a few days.
This is game day and not much else happening in my life today. I did get a clean tablecloth on the big table. I even put a couple of slightly Fall looking things on it! That makes two things ready for Fall. Ill add more when I feel like or when it's time to take down these and put the Christmas things out! Why rush?? It will all soon be here and gone!

Good morning. Another beautiful morning with low humidity. It was 77 when I got up and is already 84. It doesn't take long to warm up once the sun is shinning.
We got back from the pet area just in time. My battery power dropped fast! I'll plug the cart in later today but for now we will have to take the car for Mandys potty break this afternoon. In the evening we can walk. The battery power dropped from three to 5 very very quickly again. I hope they last until it cools down some and Mike and can help me pick up new batteries.
Yesterday I invited Jill over for lunch today. In the afternoon I the made potato salad and sloppy joes. I like to make the stuff a day ahead to get the best flavor before serving. Most things taste better the following day.
This morning I have two loads of laundry to do. The whites are the first and if I have enough lines here at home I'll get the dark clothes done too.
Grammy, I was thinking about putting some fall things out too. There isn't much here to put out on display anymore, but fall was always my favorite season. I love the fall colors.
I should go and check the potato salad and see if it needs salt or anything else. If not I'll slice up an egg to make the top look pretty.

Good morning to all. It was to be very hot here and at home today, but so far it is cloudy and about 80. I have run a couple of errands this morning and even got sprinkled on during my early morning walk.
We had a very busy, but nice, weekend. We went to the Maries (pronounced Mary's) County Fair, where DD#1 and family live on Friday after Mike got off early. We got there in time to eat at the buyers' dinner and to watch Eli and Drew sell their champion and reserve champion hams. Eli's brought $21.50 per pound and Drew's brought $21 per pound! Wish they had been bigger-sized hams--LOL! And, Trinity, as a 4-H clover kid (ages 5-8) was awarded, along with all the other clover kids, a personalized camp chair from the fair. After the dinner and auction, up and coming country music star Corey Kent performed and DD, representing her bank, got to go on stage and introduce him. The weather was beautiful for their fair this week and it was very well attended, especially that night, with the livestock/ham auction and the headliner concert.
Saturday, was a much-needed day at home. I did go to California, MO, to do some banking and get a few groceries, but Mike was able to stay home all day and try out his new weedeater and caught two groundhogs that had been living under our back patio! Bad thing is he is thinking there may be a litter under there and there is also is one doing damage at the barn! What is it with groundhogs this year? I made a double batch of my pasta salad in the afternoon to take to the girls' birthday party on Sunday and a neighbor/friend, came over Saturday evening for a couple of hours and we had a nice long visit and she brought me a beautiful ceramic cardinal and a beautiful verse in memory of my mom.
Sunday was church and then back home to change and gather up things for Amelia and Josie Mae's joint birthday party. We had a great time and again the weather, while warmer than the last few days, was much nicer than it has been. Their Highland bull, Copper, even made an appearance at the party!
We got some more things done around the house and yard yesterday morning, I fixed hamburgers for lunch, and then we drove up here for the work week. We did stop by my sister's house, which is on the way, as she had extensive surgery last week and I wanted to drop off a loaf of apple fritter bread for her. Traffic was really bad (people leaving the Lake of the Ozarks) and heading back to St. Louis), but actually got better the closer we got to St. Louis.
I am traveling back home in my car after lunch today. My cousin Lois, age 70, who had some health problems, passed away on Thursday and her visitation and funeral are tomorrow. This has been a horrible year for our family. Mike lost his Uncle Bud on Christmas night, his son (Mike's cousin) Jeff, passed way on August 20, we lost my mom and my beloved Aunt Pat and now I have lost my only girl first cousin! We have had enough sadness and funerals for quite some time!
So, I'll drive home this afternoon, stay at home tonight, go to Lois Ann's funeral tomorrow morning, then drive to Vienna, MO, for middle schooler Drew's first ever cross country meet and then drive back up here tomorrow night after the meet. I have loaded my car up with everything I don't think we'll need here at the apartment since things are winding down on the job front, even though it looks like this will be our "vacation home" until the first of November as we can't break our six-month lease. It is what it is, and we always gamble on the short term rental length and haven't gotten burned before, but this job is several weeks ahead of schedule due to lack of rain and the contractor's emphasis on getting done early to earn a sizeable bonus; can't blame him for that.
Hoping all of you have a terrific Tuesday and I will try to check back in again soon.

Christina was with me today She's still not feeling the best. She lost 20 lbs. thru her sickness. I don't want her to over due. It is very humid out & will be all week. AC will be going thru at least Saturday. I stayed in my ELVIS nightshirt Sunday & Monday. Nice & comfortable. I'm dressed today. Christina took me to the bank & we stopped at the grocery store as hamburger was on sale. Been using a lot of it this summer making stuffed peppers. I'm really enjoy them this year.

Hi again, had to go to the lawyer's office, had a paper to sign and they had my name wrong, otherwise I would've signed it here and let the Yeti take it in. It's always something. We fixed the kennel between rainstorms today, it was gorgeous when I got up and progressively got yuckier, it's raining again now, but we need it, so that's good. The sewer guy was here today also, so some stuff getting checked off. #1 will be here tomorrow, he has a photo thing up here this week and will be here til the weekend. The Yeti is to go back to Genoa for a retirement party, but now says if the sewer guy is here he may not go, whatever, I don't nave a horse in that race. My computer is acting up, h & j are sticking.
