Good morning all, there is coffee, help yourselves.
Mama-there is a brand of dog goggles called Doggles, #1's dog has them and tolerates them very well. He wears them when the top is off of the Jeep and things like that.
I've got to make a trip to the store, what was a few people tomorrow has of course gained size. Cole Slaw and Potato Salad are ready and there is chicken thawing on the counter. I think I'll get a move on soon, BBL, blessed be.

Good Morning....
It's a beautiful morning, nice and cool. The heat will start building today and last most of the next week.
Didn't make it to DD's yesterday, so I will go in a bit. They will be home tomorrow..and we will have the kids on Tuesday as their school doesn't start till Wednesday.
Not much on the agenda for today. I'll see what comes along.
Have a great day everyone....

Good morning. The humidity outside is oppressive to say the least. But at least the temp is only 78ยบ. Too bad the temp will not stay there. hehehe Partly cloudy so that is a help too. There are huge puddles all over so it must have rained harder than I thought over night. I heard the rain for a short bit but it puts me to sleep.
Cleaning day today and I really hope I get it all done in one day. I'm sure I'll have to change the filter on Annie-vac first. Last time she had a lot of desert dirt to clean up and I doubt today will be any different. The wind yesterday and the dust storm really did a number on everything. When the wind settled down I swept off the porch so I didn't slip when I took Mandy out later. Boy was there a lot of dirt too. The stuff sitting outside needs cleaning off too but not in this humidity.
Laurie, I think Mandys little head is too small for goggles. She does tuck her head into my arm well at least.
CJ, cooler weather here but next week it will start to get hot again. Stay cool my friend.
IC, I love ribs but with sour Kraut and cooked potatoes with lots of butter. Happy cleaning day.
No idea what to make for supper. Last night it was cold cereal and then buttered pop corn while I watched Blue Bloods. Lunch will be eggs of some kind and buttered toast. As Elle would say, butter with a bit of toast.
Have a nice weekend my friends.

I went to the back porch a little while. There is a nice breeze blowing the banana trees. I am going to make some potato soup, well might wait till Monday. Our blackberry cobbler turned out good. Will be getting my things together soon. I go home Tuesday. Take care.

Good morning grannies, just a bit cool when I got up this morning the temp was 56* feels like a Sept morn! A warm up is starting today with the temp in the 80s this afternoon and getting warmer for a few days.
Laurie, dinner for tomorrow sounds good! The company and cooking for the meals is one of the things I miss the most. I do have many good memories of those times with friends.
CJ enjoy the week end it will be back to the routine soon. I'm sure you will be happy to see those little ones again lots of hugs and smooches! Love is strange isn't it some days just can't wait till time to kiss them good bye and before they get to the corner we start planning for the next visit
Mamma Mandy might like those cute goggles to ride around with you in the golf cart! Sounds like a lot of sand to clean up.Since I have a cleaning person my robot isn't getting much use. I like to send it under the bed and a few other places that are hard to get to
The cleaning girl hasn't been here this morning she was really tired after the trip. She slept 14hrs yesterday! She was so happy to be back home. I think being away from home is really stressful for her.
We will be going to #2's tomorrow. Prob leaving right after church. I will go to church with the others that way we can leave earlier. I am anxious to see the new siding on their house. Several monthe ago a utility trailer came unhitched from a car and hit a corner of their house doing very little damage. Asbesto shingles were on the house and can't be replaced and hazment worn to remove and dispose of them! Insurance covered all the removal and residing the whole house.
DGD just came to ask if I would like to go to the "Y" to the dahlia show YES I would love to see the exhibits. I was there a few years ago and it was fantastic!

Good afternoon, and it was a nice cool morning here too but warming up as the week comes. I had coffee on the deck and there was a very feisty, aggressive, and almost constant hummingbird show. Wow! I'm thinking they won't be around much longer although it's usually the first part of October when they leave. I have fresh food cooking for them now and will fill the feeders later. I've pulled some weeds, got some sweetcorn for today and tomorrow's lunch. I'm supposed to be getting more tomorrow. I love sweet corn and seldom tire of it. The washer is spinning and I have one more load to get done. I also have the family room to clean. DD's and spouses came last night and we played games. They still have a hard time with that because that's something DH and they did almost every weekend. Memories are wonderful, but still can bring an empty feeling in the heart. We had brats, chips, broccoli salad and blueberry cobbler for supper.
LAURIE I hope all goes well with the company tomorrow. The food sounds yummy.
CJ Is Teddy and Penny ready to go back to school? I'm not sure if Teddy goes or not? maybe still too young? The heats starts here later today and goes until the middle or end of the week here. But the mornings are still pretty good for coffee outside.
ICOOK Spareribs are one of my favorite meats. I love them barbequed!! Take breaks today. Work always waits. LOL
MAMMA Your Mandy is such a good friend and she seems to adjust to about anything. My Kayli was like that too. I can't imagine that dust. We do give up one thing for another I guess, cold weather vs dust and we can choose what we want. I'm glad you don't have to fight the winter snow, ice and cold. What project are you working on now?
CAROLYN I bet your anxious to see that new baby boy. You'll probably see how he's grown in the few weeks you've been gone. How's your foot?
GRAMMY I bet your DD is as anxious to see you and family as you are to see them. What a great thing that the insurance is covering the damage and repair!! That doesn't always happen. Maybe your cleaning lady is there by now.

Just got back from DD's. All is well, but still no sign of the one cat. I didn't smell anything stinky, so I guess he's still around and eating...just hiding when I come in.
Elle...do you always cook the hummer food? I just do 4 to 1 ratio of water to sugar. No cooking it. Penny will start 4 yr preschool and Teddy is in the daycare part of the school. They go to a Montessori school.
Carolyn...I bet you are so anxious to get back home, although it sounds like you have had an enjoyable visit.
Grammy...enjoy your visit with DD tomorrow.
When DH gets back from taking lunch to his mom, we are going to Hobby Lobby, Meijer and maybe Penney or Kohl's.

CJ I do always cook the bird food. I've often wondered if that was necessary but never tried that. I think all cooking it does is dissolve the sugar so if it sets long enough the sugar will dissolve if not cooked. Is that right? After I cook it, it I put it in a clean empty milk container and refrigerate it. I use the same ration and usually make 8 cups at a time. I have 2 feeders and put 1 cup in each one when I refill them.

Hello! Just checking in, as I am still settling in and not moving very fast, but happy to be home and in my own surrounding. Daren, Josey and I got here about 9:15-9:30 last night - and Jen and Dawson not too long after that, s she ha to stop in Decorah at Walmart for some over the counter allergy meds for him that she forgot to bring. There is construction just leaving Sioux City and we got stuck in a big back up, and then when Jen came, it was flowing better and she caught up and passed us when we got gas and a sandwich to eat on the run. Then she stopped at their usual stop and we passed her again. It was about midnight when I went to bed and had a LGR stop at 4:15, and not much sleep after that. I am planning a nap for the afternoon and also have been reading the weekly paper and not finished yet. Just wanted to let you know I was here. They left about 9 to go to her DB's because the Hawkeye game started at 11 - - can't miss that you Know.

Greenback....glad to hear you are back at home. Just take it easy for a while.
Elle...you are probably right that boiling it just dissolves the sugar faster. I keep mine in a jug in the fridge.

GREENBACK Welcome back to the GN. You'll probably sleep well tonight. I don't get to go like I want to but maybe in time.. this has been my choice at this time. I do go close to home but not an overnight thing. Rest up and I'm sure you'll be back in the routine soon.
MAMMA I love the candle and the inside light (candle) always makes it more noticeable and attractive. I guess that's another thing I like about Christmas, the beautiful lights.
CJ I store my hummingbird food in the frig too. How many hummers do you have? I have 2 pair. Enjoy the rest of the day.
ICOOK No, I didn't get any cabbage. It's just too much for me, I'd probably end up throwing half of it away. Enjoy your supper, it does sound good.
