Good Morning....
It's a cloudy morning with some rain on the way. In fact it started sprinkling when I was out there with my coffee. It stopped when I came in...LOL But there is more coming.
GrammyDebbie....I thought the same thing whether the other grandma was feeling up to the kids. Her surgery was done laparoscopic...but still uncomfortable moving around. I guess if she didn't feel good enough they wouldn't have said they would have them.
Mamma...hope your electrician shows up and fixes the circuit and you can get all the sand and stuff cleaned up around your place. Glad you didn't have any real damage.
Greenback...hope your DDIL is feeling much better now. That was a scary thing. I don't think DMIL will ever go back to the dining room. She is content having her meal brought to her and staying in her own place. She doesn't even want to go walk around the halls for exercise for fear someone will start asking her questions as to where she has been and what was wrong. She is a very private person.
Icook...hope Christina gets better and can be back to helping you.
I'm meeting my mom for lunch today and a stop in Walmart for a few things. I really need to go to Costco, but that might have to be tomorrow. We'll see.
I've got a list of things I want to do today while I don't have the kids. We won't have them again till Friday. So I get two days off...LOL LOL
DMIL is doing pretty good. Last night we stopped in to check on her and she seemed really down in the dumps. But all in all, we are glad she is back in her own place.
Not much happening yet.....have a great day.

Mike came yesterday afternoon and put the freezer back in place for me. Now my craft room is back to normal, whatever that is. I also cleaned out the old kitchen Island that we have on the porch. We had it since we lived in the house and it made it through the fire sitting on the only corner left on that porch. I’m hoping to take the hose and scrub it really well and bring it inside. I need my nice one back in the kitchen and not in the craft room. I have so very little counter space in the kitchen and really miss it in there. I hope that I can get the old one presentable and useable. It will need to be seasoned well too since it is all dried out from the heat and sun of the outdoors for so long. Not sure my efforts will pay off, but it’s worth a try. Better than buying new. It’s the right height for the craft room work area. I prefer to stand for some of the crafting.
Jill came home yesterday afternoon and stopped over to say thanks for watering her plants. We are going to PetSmart this afternoon sometime. I need to get Mandy a bed and her bird needs food.Poor Mandy has outgrown her first bed and it has lost is cush! So she thinks she can lay in the recliner while in the living room. Wrong, not all the time she can't.
It's not too bad out there this morning. Mary was in the pet area when we got there so she and I had a nice chat.
Well time to get to cleaning the Island, my coffee is done now. I want to get started out there before it gets too.

MAMMA I hope you'll be able to get the table looking like you want it. When crafting, it's nice to have things "our way." Mandy will probably like the new cushiony bed.
ICOOK I know you miss Christina. She's such a good friend and worker for you. I bet Tinker misses her too.
CJ I'm glad you DM is able to go out with you. A special restaurant she likes? Watch your cart at Costco. LOL Enjoy the break from the DGC. They'll be full of energy when they come.
It's coffee at the Cabin today. It's a nice sunny day and warming up like the rest of you. I'm so thankful that the a/c is working and pray it'll continue to work!! I finally broke down and got a "professional" haircut today. I was very pleased with her and her work!! I will be going back!! Not much more going on here.

Yesterday we had lunch at Beef O Brady's. It was good. Today I am cooking veggies and cornbread. Country food I am going home the 5th. Getting anxious to see everyone, so the newest little one. I am hoping to get new guttering put on my house. Of course it is extremely hot here. I stay indoors a lot. Debbie, the Dr said they can remove the cyst without doing the whole knee. Just what I wanted to hear. He said when I decide to give him hands up n he will find a dr. But on way home I decided to not come back to have it done but go to Oak Ridge at home. So, I have an appt. the 2nd of October. Thanks for asking. Have my cabbage chopped, corn ready to boil, for supper. Am making fried green tomatoes and cornbread. Also deviled eggs You all take care 😎

Good morning, all. I got up with Mike shortly after 4:30 this morning and started my walk when he left shortly after 5:00. You can see the air again today and when I go outside, my glasses fog up. This humidity, coupled with the high heat is just unreal. Heat index yesterday here was 111 and going to be even worse today. This hot spell has now been extended through Friday, whereas it was originally thought to break on Thursday.
Our plans for leftover salad for supper last night changed when we got an unexpected and welcome invitation from Mike's boss who had driven down from Chicago to go out to supper with the 7 others still left on the jobsite. We met at a really nice Mexican restaurant and it was a very nice time. I got to meet a couple of his coworkers whom I had not met previously. And, I have over half my plate of shrimp nachos left for lunch today--and maybe tomorrow!
This getting up really early has energized me. After my walk, I took a badly needed shower and got myself presentable for the day. Had breakfast and have made, baked, and cleaned up after a double batch of banana bread with peanut butter chips (had six really ripe bananas to use), and also made a batch of my homemade chocolate pudding. Instead of adding vanilla with the chocolate chips after pulling it off the heat, I added coconut flavoring and topped the pudding cups with chocolate graham cracker crumbs and a light sprinkle of coconut. I've done that with homemade pudding before and it tastes likes a Mound candy bar--so that is what I was going for today. That will be our dessert tonight and tomorrow night.
On Friday, Mike will take off at noon and we will drive the three hours up to his cousin Jeff's funeral visitation and service and then come back here as Mike will have to work on Saturday. Emmett has his first football game on Saturday, at noon, but we will have to see how the work schedule is going closer to then. We can change our usual route home to go by the site for the game, but unlikely Mike will get off in time for us to make a noon game. But, fingers crossed... It will be a hot one, regardless, although it is supposed to be about 90 that day rather than the 100s that we are having during the week. Emmett has been practicing football outside in this heat and Drew has been running for cross country practice and then following that up with a nightly basketball practice in an un-air conditioned gym!
CJ, is tonight the night for the pork chops? Sounds like your DMIL is pretty skeptical of folks. Enjoy your time with your sweet mom.
IC Cook, I do everything slower these days, it seems.
Mama, glad the craft room is back in order and hope the island can be rehabilitated.
Elle, glad you got a hair cut and stylist you like. It must be a bit intimidating to cut another stylist's hair! I need a cut, but don't have one scheduled until next week. The stylist here is not nearly as good as my regular one back home, but since I hope to have it done just this one more time before we leave here, I am going to keep my appointment, but ask her to please cut it shorter than she has been. My hair has to have lots of texturizing and a razor used in places and needs to be short enough to not lay flat. I think she's been a bit leary of going too short with me being a new client and she has been leaving it so long that I don't even feel like I've had a cut when I leave.
Trying to decide if I am staying put or going to go to Hobby Lobby or Michael's to see if I can find a punch which I think might be the device I use to get pictures cut out for the locket project I am still working on for Amelia.
Stay cool and safe!

Good Afternoon Ladies - - - Another day to swelter! Is that a word? I haven't been out yet, but the mailman went by so will go get that soon. My neighbors are to come home again tomorrow and then I will have delievery service again. I will likely back the car out to get it and then pull back in. I just don't trust my knee's that much and wouldn't want to be laying out there in this heat. I may end up with an errand to run and then will just grab it. CJ, I'm disappointed to hear that your MIL doesn't want to leave the room again - she seemed so happy at the other place even if she did want to get back home. I guess there is nothing you can do to make her more comfortable with the people there. Hope lunch was a good one and your mom is doing well in this heat. Mamma, nice to have some good conversation while Mandy takes care of business - - Lucky her, a new bed!!! Hope the counter cleans up okay and works out for you. You never seem to have enough counter space and also cupboards - - I guess we just fill up what ever we have - I know I sure notice that I don't have the cupboards I had at the house. Ellie, glad your haircut went well - I agree, I would be intimidated to work on another stylist. Have a good time at coffee today. Carolyn, glad that they think they can solve your problem without doing the whole knee. I understand why you would want to wait and have it done at home. I'm sure you are missing that baby. You can have my piece of cornbread too! Debbie, nice that you could go out with the gang and get to meet the rest of them. Your pudding sounds so good - I love coconut. I think I would opt for staying in the AC as opposed to shopping in the heat. Tomorrow is suppose to be cooler here, but maybe it will take another day to get to you. You won't have time to shop anyway, wit the travel for the visitation. Dawson has been going to preschool since the first of June, but yesterday was the first "official" day of it, so Jen had a picture on last night of it. He is getting to be a big boy, and I notice that when I haven't seen him since Memorial Day weekend. I guess I had better see what I need to do here before I get the mail. It's paper day - Hope I get one this week.

It's a very warm 87 here now with the humidity at65% to make it uncomfortable. Nothing like some of you are experiencing! I stay inside in the AC where it is only 70 down here I my house. I'm wearing my flannel shirt to keep warm I have to go outside now and then to get warmed up. The upper floors are lots warmer than mine and I have the vents closed Bedroom one is only one open.
CJ when we become GP and do some baby sitting time we finally understand why only the young have babies! Isn't it wonderful that you can send them home with loving parents. We all know GPs that can't do that.
Mamma hope everything works as you planned when it gets cleaned and moved!
Debbie I remember those days and a dh working in the hot summer and cold winter weather. Early starting was part of the hot summer weather!
Carolyn I have wanted fried green tomatoes all summer and it doesn't look like ther will be any for me. No tomato pie either tomatoes didn't make it thru the wet and cold days. Glad there is a solution for you knee problem other than replacement
IC a night with little sleep leaves you tired so take it easy today.
elle coffee with friends always sounds like a good time for all!
Yesterday's trip to the cardiologist was all good news. My heart is still working as it should. I have an appointment with the electrician,(pacemaker) in Oct. then I should be all checked out for awhile!
Bible study as usual this morning was good.We pray for others to come but we do like our small group, more time for each of us to express our thoughts on a passage and to talk about out life situations.
Nothing more to say or do today so it must be time for Kindle and a comfy chair

Good afternoon, I've been putzing around this morning and my goal is to finish what I started in the basement. It just cleared up, so I may go put this laundry on the line, I'll see how humid it is first. The Yeti is taking his mom to her dr appt-cortisone shot in the neck. Sounds painful, but she is able to do less and less all of the time. So, with that, FIL had a procedure similar that burned the nerves in his lower back. Yikes, everyone is falling apart around here.

Home from lunch with my mom. We like to go to Arby's where we can sit and talk without feeling like we are holding up a booth. We always have liked Arby's, so it works out for us.
GrammyDebbie....yes, the pork chops will get made tonight. And I found the pineapple preserves at Walmart...YAY.
It's been looking like rain since I got up this morning. Had a few sprinkles and then just gray clouds. It has become more breezy and humid. Tomorrow is suppose to be around 90 and very humid.
DD let me know that they will be going up north all next week...so we will have a whole week off (2 weeks till we see the kids). We'll still have them this Friday. Yesterday Penny asked me if she was coming to my house again today and I told her she would be with her other grandma & grandpa....she says..."I'll miss you grandma". LOL She always says things that make me chuckle.

Uffda - - - I opened the garage door and then backed the car out, grabbed the mail and then went to run an errand downtown - - I drove by the 3 banks - - One said 95, one 100, and the Other 102, so take your pick! I know I am very thankful I do not need to be out in it! Supper tonight will be heat and eat stuffed pepper yet and a fresh tomato. The gal that had coffee yesterday sent 3 of them home with me and I had one last night and it was so good!

Mamma I let Tinker lay where ever she wants. I have all my furniture covered. She loses a lot of hair. She's been sleeping with me often since Earl passed. I don't get much company so I don't worry about all the furniture covered.

91* and humidity is 64%. I watered my plants and it is plain unpleasant outside. I truly hope those who have to be out in this will be careful and stay hydrated!! Tomorrow is to be our worst day.
Everybody talks about nobody does a thing about, The weather, the weather.
That's a little "jingle" one TV network used to play before the weather man gave his forecast.
DEBBIE The stylist seemed very relaxed and not at all intimidated and she shouldn't have. We shared our experiences and enjoyed talking about the differences now and then. It was fun. BTW I made another appointment.
