'morning all! It's a pretty day out, getting a bit cloudier, but that's ok, there is a nice breeze. Kennel repair is in the works for today, there was a great escape yesterday. I'm sure it was instigated by the red one, she can MacGuyver her way out of anything. Help yourself to coffee and bagels. Blessed be.

Good Morning...
It's sunny, but cool right now. Going to be around 80 today. Nice to see the sun after 2 days of rain and clouds. Tomorrow might be rainy again. Everything is green and very well watered.
Need to make a very much needed grocery run today. I have my list and I keep adding to it.
Visited DMIL last night. DBIL was told yesterday morning when he was there, that they would be doing an assessment of her to see if her release was ready to be done. She was sleeping while DBIL was there, so he never got to talk to her. Well, when they came to take her to her therapy, she told them she didn't feel well and didn't want to do that stuff. She thinks it's just silly games, doesn't realize it's therapy...no matter how many times we tell her. Any way, they didn't push it, so no evaluation got done. Hoping today will go better. We told her last night that she needs to do these "silly games" so she can get out of there. I'm sure DBIL will tell her the same thing this morning when he goes.
Lauriet...silly doggie making the great escape. Did the last pup ever get to go to it's forever home? I don't remember hearing.
Not much news...so I'll wish everyone a great day.......

Was tired this morning. We went shopping yest. and had lunch at the Columbia. I have wanted to go there for lunch for a long time. Was disappointed in their food all but the desserts we shared. Bread pudding and key lime pie. Think the weather is a bit cooler. Maybe. Hope all of you had a good night of rest. 🦋

Goodmorning grannies, it's a sunshiny morning! Still a bit coolish for Aug 67* heading for the 70s this afternoon. More rain predicted for tomorrow 80% we don't need it! I'll try to enjoy some of the sunshine today, maybe a little weeding.
Laurie no more escapes the kennel will be repaired! Doggies will have to stay home.
CJ hope you find some good sales at the grocery store! DD found a few good ones at Kroger's. Maybe MIL will be more receptive to doing the evaluation today and be ready to go home soon.
Not much happening here the excitement for the day is sunshine! Bible Study was cancelled today that means I need to do it on my own. While sitting here having my coffee the deer wandered into the yard I had to watch them for awhile. They were here for a hour or so. They found a feast in the fire pit! Corn husks were waiting to be burned along with some tree trimmings. Yummy things for their breakfast.
That's about my day if anything exciting happens I'll be back to share the news!

Good morning Another light headedness last night. After a bit I ate some peanuts and it got better. Then I had a piece of toast too. That really helped. So I am getting a blood sugar test kit today. Not sure if I have low blood sugar or what is going on. But eating something helps.
Some Amazon orders are coming today so it will feel like Christmas in August. I was concerned that my ordering things was some how a compensation for my grief. But I was reassured that I am just replacing things that I've lost and for my getting back into crafting and card making. That is pretty much all I've been ordering too. With the exception of some curtains and rugs. At least I'm not hoarding anything.
Laurie, Mandy's registered middle name is Houdini. She was quite the escape artist when we got her. I totally can see yours being the same way. They are quite ingenious at times. Little rascals.
CJ, if your DMIL hears that PT is her only way home, she may cooperate like crazy. I hope so anyway. WM will be bringing me some things this morning that I had to add to get the blood sugar kit delivered.
Grammy, your little farm sure has some furry fun entertainment to enjoy. Thanks for the reminder too, I'm say behind on my bible study with Dawn. No excuse other than laziness.
Cloudy right now so it's a good time to go and water Jills plants. It's already too hot for comfort.

Sunny and 67* going to 80*. A change from the high 60's yesterday. It's giving the a/c and the electric bill a break. My grass will get mowed tonight and hopefully some pick up of trimmed shrubs/weeds that should have been done 2 weeks ago. It's coffee at the Cabin today. No meal planning yet so that means it's going to be "what you see, eat." Not a lot of cooking. I made peanut butter cookies yesterday and froze most of them. I'll be giving some of them away.
LAURIE We loved watching MacGyver on tv.
CJ It's a good thing we can't see too far in the future! We get the strength when we need it. I hope your DMIL will be better today. Your weather is like mine today.
CAROLYN I did sleep well last night. You might want a nap today!
GRAMMY Do you think the deer are happy to entertain you? LOL They must feel safe or they wouldn't keep coming. Enjoy the Bible study as you work on it.
MAMMA Happy crafting to you! And you're thinking you're not necessarily grieving but you're rebuilding what you lost in the fire is probably the right thought. Enjoy the delivery from Amazon.
I just got a call and I'll be having card club here tomorrow. I'll be busy today now! But glad I can help!

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's another nice day here - 73 and sunny now. I made up for my sleepless night on Mon. night and slept later today - - I do have a small load of laundry going, but that all so far. I have some dishes that I need to hand wash. I thought I was going to finish the turkey and stuffing last night, but when I got it out, I thought, I don't want all of that, so will finish it tonight. I will put it on my plate before I do dishes so I can wash that dish as well. Tomorrow I go have lunch with the HS friends, so will be gone all day and probably won't want much for supper, depending on what I order for lunch - actually a good ole burger is sounding good right now, but will see what tomorrow brings. Laurie, that little, well, not so little, red rascal! Hope he will be better behaved today! CJ, maybe DMIL isn't so ready to go home after all - Maybe she likes it there better. Probably not, but just a thought. Most of us don't like PT, but have to do it anyway. Carolyn, isn't it disappointing when we have this place on our radar for so long and then it's disappointing. Love the key lime pie though. Grammy, to bad that the bible study was cancelled today - did the deer make a mess when they snacked on the corn husks? Mamma, good to get those flowers watered while it's cloudy - sounds like like lots of goodies coming your way today - - Hope they are all just what you wanted. Ellie, so you have company coming tomorrow - - what will you be making to serve? whatever, I'm sure it will be enjoyed.

Good afternoon to all; it is just past noon, so I had to make sure I said good afternoon and not morning. It is nice and cool here, but warmer and sunnier than yesterday. Nasty heat and humidity heading back by the weekend and into next week--figures, that's when the grandkids go back to school. I had my morning walk and then, after breakfast and a couple of loads of laundry, headed to the car wash to use their free vacuums and swept out my car really good. Then, made a return at Wal-Mart and came back here and rode my bike outside for about 45 minutes. Then, it was time to talk to my grannie friends!
Even though it would have been a good night to sleep with the AC off and windows open, Mike said no way. Our bedroom window is right along the front sidewalk of our building and he is right, he probably wouldn't have gotten a lick of sleep with the "town noises" that he is not fond of anyway.
CJ, I just posted the pork chops recipe; it is easy and oh so good. I agree with Jane, maybe your DMIL has decided she wants to stay where she is now?
Tonight's supper will be the pork roast kit that I purchased yesterday and then cooked all afternoon in the crockpot. I'll make some biscuits to go with that. We may finish up the peach pound cake tonight.
Carolyn, yum to the key lime pie. I have been enjoying key lime pie concretes at the local custard places here, plus Freddy's (do any of the other grannies have one of those) has a key lime pie concrete.
Laurie, have you decided to keep Nugget for yourself? Sounds like she might be Mrs. Red Kravitz's new apprentice.
Grammy, your place sounds like ours--when we got home on Saturday night, we could see all sorts of eyes (from the deer) across the road and then as we drove up the driveway, some more deer scattered out of our yard. And, much to Mike's chagrin, the apple he baited the live trap with in an effort to catch our rascally groundhog, was gone, but the trap had not tripped. He is at war with that groundhog!
Mama, good idea to check your blood sugar as it does sound like it might be low blood sugar episodes causing your dizziness.
Elle, good on you for jumping in to host at the last minute. I know it will be just like you had planned to be the hostest with the mostest all along!
Jane, a good ol' burger sounds good to me, too! Must be time for me to rustle up some lunch!

There's always something happening on the little farm some days are exciting and other days you have to make it happen. We had two barn cats that spent lots of time on the deck by the door.I'm sure they were hoping to be invited in to be house cats. A few weeks ago one disappeared. That has happened to a couple others. DGD# feeds some stray cats and begged her mom to take one. DD finally gave in to that pitiful plea and said yes we will take one. Yesterday was the vet trip for Miss Kitty lots of shots and some surgery. While she was at the Vet's a neighbor saw Soraya and asked if we were missing a cat, yes. Soraya and her mom went to check it out. Sure enough it was Rain! She had gone visiting and stayed where she was treated well and no other cats to annoy her. They brought her home This morning she was a happy cat! The Vet called to say Miss Kitty was ready to come home DD and Soraya went to get her the ransom was more than $400.00! Lots of shots and surgery for her. Hope she is not a lazy cat and catches lots of moles, mice and chipmunks! Now we have 3 cats! Rain, Mitten and now Miss Kitty! We thought something like a fox, coyote or eagle had nice lunch. That's life on the little farm not too exciting but never a dull day!

Just lost my post I hate when that happens. Not much sun here today Still humid so the AC works on. I got my long handled duster out to clean the hard to get areas. Just finished lunch. Last night I watched the candlelight vigil from Graceland.
Grammy Vets are expensive. I spend $80 a month for Tinker's shot. Insurance pays for most of it. It's going to cost me around $400 in the next few weeks for Tinker. Have to get her flea & tick & heartworm meds. She gets her physical too
Laurie Tinker escapes occasionally She runs right over to my neighbor.

Thanks Debbie....I'm anxious to try the pork chops.
DMIL is very anxious to go home. She is very bored at the rehab place. She had no idea that they were going to evaluate her to be released or else she would have co-operated with the "silly games". LOL Even telling her, she would forget. Her short term memory is really bad. Things that happened long long time ago she remembers without a hitch.
DH & I went to Kroger this morning. We are all stocked up for a while. We'll be taking care of Penny & Teddy quite a bit for a while. DSIL's mom had emergency surgery this morning for a blockage in the bowel. Everything went well, but she will need some time to recuperate. The next two weeks the school/daycare that the kids go to, will be closed so they can get ready for the school year to begin after Labor Day. So we'll be doing double duty on the babysitting.
I think it will be hamburgers on the grill tonight. DH prefers them in the skillet, but I'm hungry for a grilled one...so that's what it will be. Finally my tomatoes are ripening and I've got a couple cucumbers to slice up. They didn't grow long, just short and fat. Also picked, probably, the last of the beans.
Grammy...Miss Kitty will fit right in with the others. Glad Rain was just on vacation at the neighbors and not someones lunch.
