Good Morning....
It's a very very rainy day. It rained all night and will, off and on, all day. We sure have had a lot of rain in August so far. And the temps will only be in the upper 60's today.
Today is DD & DSIL 8th Anniversary. I remember the day well. It was so hot and humid, but we all survived.
Had a nice time with coworkers for lunch yesterday. We had a lot to talk about.
Not sure what I'll do today, but I know something will happen...LOL
Have a great day everyone......

It's another dark and cloudy morning! The sun peeked out for a few minutes then it went back into it's hiding place. Temp is 65 now and going to the low 70s today. A little rain last night with more to come this afternoon. The grass is green and growing not brown and dry which would be the normal look for August.
Debbie I saw the cake recipe and plan to print it for DGD hoping she will find some time to make it for us. She is our baker, and a good one too!
This is game day in the afternoon. The usual 5 should be there to enjoy some fun time. There are some new people attending church maybe I should invite them to come.
The family will be going to the beach next week so I have been making some plans for things to do while they are away. DD is freezing some left overs for me so I won't have a lot of cooking to do.
I'm still wearing long pants and sweatshirt while I hope for some summer before fall moves in!

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's a chilly start to the day at 61 now, but last night the weather guy said today would be a near perfect day - so I am looking forward to that - and it's sunny now too, but I am chilly here - won't be here long and will be getting into the shower and that will warm me up again. CJ, yes, we always find lots to talk about when we get together with friends. HA to your DD & DSIL. Those years go by fast and it seems each year, faster. Grammy, right now I am wishing I had your long pants and sweatshirt on, but it will get better. It will be nice to have some of those easy meals in the freezer, but I know you still know your way around the kitchen. You will miss your cleaning lady, but it will wait until she's back again.
I gotta go get in the shower and warm up!

Good morning dear friends. I see that some of you are having rain and cool temps. Please send both this way. We so need the rain and this summer has been brutal. Maybe it's my insulation but I think it's the higher dew point that we have had since we have lived here. Just not used to it anymore. But I will survive.
Not much planned for today other than the usual morning routine. Yesterday I went through all my cards that I've made and found that I had no anniversary cards. So that is what I'll be making until I get at least 8 or so done. Yesterday I made two anniversary cards. It takes me awhile to get the idea in my head as to how I want to make it look.
Enjoy your day.

I see some of us are getting rain. Here too Rained during the night & I slept thru all the storms. No sun today & supposed to be humid which means AC will still be working.
No Christina again today. She has diarrhea & is vomiting. I had to change Tinker's vet appt. for her physical.
Grammy No sweat shirts here yet. But my feet are always cold. I wear socks all the time in the summer. Never used to be like that. I was always in my bare feet all summer.
Mamma Didn't have much rain here till the past month or so. Now it's a lot. I'll send you some.

Good afternoon to all. It's a cool and cloudy day here, it was 70 degrees when I came in a little over an hour ago. I know it was beautiful for my early morning walk, such a nice cool breeze. But, next week, when the kids go back to school, it is to be around 100 degrees again. This weather makes anxious for fall.
Tuesday is my shopping day (for things other than groceries), so I hit the Ross, TJ Maxx and Marshall stores today. I had a gift card for TJ Maxx burning a hole in my pocket--LOL. I did find a pair of Hoka tennis shoes in DD#1's size and sent her a picture and she said to get them for her to try. Mike and I love our Hoka tennis shoes. They normally run about $150 a pair, but they are good shoes. I found a pair for Jess at Ross today for $79.99 and they discount 10% for seniors on Tuesday, so that was a really good deal, and if they don't fit, I can take them back.
I did go to two grocery stores which were on the way and scored some really good meat bargains. Got a pork loin roast kit, complete with onion, potatoes, celery, carrots and seasoning for $3.60! It is currently cooking away in the crockpot. That will be tomorrow night's supper. Also got two spinach/cheese stuffed chicken breasts for $2 each and those will be tonight's supper entree. And, I got five packages of four burgers each for $2--50-cents a burger--and they were ground chuck! Those went into the freezer. I also got a big package of thin ribeyes, marked down from $28 to $14 and got an extra $2 off that making the big package of steak for $12! And, I got a generous package of link sausage for $2.25. That will be used in a sheet pan apple pancake recipe from the new Taste of Home. By the way, the skillet pork chops with pineapple soy sauce from the newest issue of the magazine that I made last night were delicious--that recipe is a keeper, too!
CJ, happy anniversary to Laura and Andy. What a beautiful bride she was; I just love her dress.
Grammy, I am betting your family will love the peach pound cake.
Good morning, Jane. It was a nice cool morning here, too.
Mama, I know folks will be glad to buy your anniversary cards--always good to have some for all occasions on hand.
IC Cook, poor Christina! Sounds like she is not in the best of health, herself.
Time to go clean out the car while it is cool. I'll try to get the seats, dash, etc., wiped down today and will take it to the carwash and use their free vacuums tomorrow. Want to get all that done while it is nice and cool.
Wishing everyone a good rest of your Tuesday!

Good afternoon! I had my training this a.m. and then the Yeti decided we'd take Lena to lunch. I need to meet her mom this afternoon to do the swap of the kid-let. She went to the clinic w/ the Yeti and waited in the waiting room. We did not do many of the things I'd planned, but that is ok too. I'd love to take a quick nap but I have some things that I need to do before we go in about an hour and a half. The principal at the 2nd school I work at asked if I'd taken a full time job-no-and would I still consider subbing for them-yes. He also said if I need to get CEUs for license renewal-yes, that I am more than welcome to attend their trainings since I'd be working for them, that was good to hear. SIL was at the workshop too, but doesn't talk to me at them, whatever. Tonight/tomorrow I have to get things ready for the ladies aid lunch that has services after and also a pan of bars for the history center here on Thursday. Friday is a luncheon with my sister and Saturday afternoon I work at the History Center. I may just go up Saturday morning and then stay over night on Saturday and go to church with Al. Sounds like a plan to me. I hear there is a fishing trip planned on Friday/Saturday of Labor Day weekend-I don't have to go, makes me happy! I think they go over somewhere north of where Nancy lived. It is a pretty day, little bit of a breeze, I was glad I had a zippered light jacket at the training as the AC kicked in big time there. BBL, blessed be.

A cloudy and quite cool day here for August. It's 68* now and I don't think it got up to 70*. We've had a little rain but enough to wet the driveway and that's about it. I wish you hummingbird lovers was here to watch my male. He has been belligerently guarding the feeder all day. He will not let another bird eat. That's my entertainment for the day. LOL It was prayer meeting today and I've had several texts. I made cookies so now I'm thinking about supper. I think a ham sandwich will be the main thing... and a fresh cookie with a glass of ice cold milk!!!

Debbie...could you post the pork chop recipe? I don't get Taste of Home anymore. You got some fantastic bargains in the meat department.
Lauriet...wow...you sure pack in the activities in a day and a week. I don't see any time left for a nap...LOL
