I am taking med. for upper respiratory infection. Felt better yesterday, today I have all the congestion. We went to $ tree and bought cards and I got a haircut. Think that alone made me feel much better. Yes, it is hot. 70 at home and rain. It gets hot there too but I can open doors and windows for a good bit of the day. But it is good here getting to spend time with my girl. I do have an appt. to get my knee checked. I'll get off here and send a wish that all of you are well. 😎😎

Good morning. A hot and muggy day already. This morning I noticed that they are really cleaning out the pet area. The three dead smelly bushes have been pulled out and raked over. There are two separate areas for the pets to run. One had the tree dead bushes that never got watered and some dogs laid in and some urinated on them. So happy they are gone. Rob promised me the area would be cleaned up and he has really followed through well.
The higher dew point has arrived and it is miserable out there. I won't get to Jills flowers this morning because I don't want to have to shower before I go shopping with my friends. Maybe this evening if they really need it. I gave them a good soak yesterday. Last night I took a nice long shower after sweating bullets most of the day. And I slept like a log too. I much prefer an evening shower to get all the dirt and sweat off as to a morning shower. Crawling into bed all sweaty or dirty from the day doesn't feel right. Just the way I was brought up. Mark preferred morning, unless I begged him to take an evening shower instead. LOL To each his own.
Just one more cup of coffee and then on to my morning tasks. Happy Thursday!

No rain today but a quick thunder shower rolled thru here last night leaving everything wet and a cloudy morning with temp in the upper 70s this afternoon.
Laurie, this must be a bad time to pick up prescriptions! I had two texts saying that I had a prescription that needed refilled. Yesterday I decided to go pick it up thinking it was the iye drops and everything else was OK. Not a good day, the script was for something that had been filled last week! After a long discussion I accepted and paid for it. Now I have a 6 month supply. That's OK its something I have taken for a long time. I can't help wondering where they get such incompetent workers. I will need the eye drops next week! This wasn't a WG so others are having their troubles too.
Carolyn enjoy the days of sun and sand! Too soo it will be snow and cold
Not much happening in my life today. company is still here. The 8 month old baby is a cutie and soooo good. He was allergic to everything including mamma's milk. They finally found something the can tolerate but it sure is $$$$ $500.00 for a case of some hyper allergenic thing! Their Dr gives them discount coupons to help. He is doing very well and thriving!
Time to enjoy some sunshine while it's visible this morning.

Good morning to all. It is back to sunny and humid after yesterday's light drizzle and clouds. Mike got off shortly after 1 and we had a quiet afternoon--a trip to the Enterprise car rental location to renew and/or trade in his rental truck, but they had nothing different until tomorrow, so we decided to keep what he has and check tomorrow. He is driving a Dodge Ram right now and he is very unimpressed with it. We then came home and each of us took a little nap--wow, that was nice, but I worry that I am becoming quite lazy! I did, however, spend most of the morning reconciling the checkbook, gave me a bit of a challenge this time until I realized what I had done and then all was well. DD#1, the banking HR Director, laughs at me for still waiting for a statement and reconciling my checkbook (after I print the statement out!), but that is the way that works best for me. She reconciles hers online almost daily. Call me a fuddy duddy or just old and set in my ways.
Then, I worked up the big box of peaches we picked at the orchard last week. Thankfully, the worked up better than I anticipated, seemed like they didn't want to ripen, even those I had put in a brown paper bag. But, I sliced them up and let them sit and they got quite juicy. Two big bags went in the freezer to take home with us this weekend and the others got made into a peach cobbler pound cake. I didn't make that until after we woke up from our nap and it had to cool in the pan quite a while, so it hasn't been tasted yet. I also realized I forgot to make a glaze for it, so will do that before I serve it tonight. DH suggested going out for pizza last night, but I already had steaks thawing, so I baked two potatoes, did two ears of corn in the zip-n-steam bag in the microwave, opened up a bag of chopped salad and did the steaks in my cast iron skillet and we had quite a good meal, if I do say so myself.
Good thing Mike got a bit of rest yesterday as today is the big hydro test for the job and he had to report to work at 6:00 a.m. Once the test goes live, which it hadn't as of about a half hour ago, it will be an 8-10 hour session of monitoring pressures, charts, graphs, ambient temps, (boy, have I been listening to Mike or what?), and documentation. Then, the lines will have to be de-watered, etc., so this is going to be a very long day for him. I sent him an entire foot-long sandwich in his lunch so he would have enough for supper tonight. Sometimes they treat them to lunch or dinner when they are testing, but less and less often do they do that these days, it seems. I also baked some biscuits last night and made sure he had a couple of sausage and biscuit sandwiches for breakfast this morning along with his customary banana.
Carolyn, hope the meds help you feel better real soon. Seems like the work they are doing of loosening the congestion often makes you feel worse before you feel better.
Good morning, Grammy. Your baby guest sounds like me, I was allergic to so many formulas when I was a baby that they finally gave me straight cow's milk from my Grandpa's dairy cow that he milked every day! Can you imagine! I bet that family has trouble finding formula because of the shortage, too!
Mama, glad to hear that significant improvements are already being seen at the dog park. Hope if flows through to other issues in the park. I've had my walk, cleaned the bathrooms and gotten myself presentable, so I am off to get both a mani and a pedi. Wishing all a great day!

Good Morning Ladies - - It's a lovely morning at 71 and sunny - - feels so nice sitting in front of an open window and have both doors open also. I don't have much planned for the day today, after my busy day yesterday - I am taking my neighbors out to dinner tonight as they celebrated their 50th last Fri. and had a big day with their kids and grands on Sat. We are going to the place I took the grannies when they came to visit this way a few years ago, but only Debbie left to remember the place as MJ is gone and Glee seems to have left us. Carolyn, sorry to hear that you are not feeling your best while visiting - and I see you have set the date to return home again. I bet you are anxious to see that baby. Hopefully, you can go down and spend at least part of the winter there. Grammy, the poor little baby - what a chore it must have been to find that right formula. I change drug stores because of so many mix ups and then they started to charge for the delievery. It's not that I couldn't pay that, it just made me mad, since they were getting a good chunk of money from me every month - actually, I was on auto fill every 90 days, so it wasn't like they were running here every week. The new place has a drive up window and free delievery.. Mamma, maybe once he gets that dog run cleaned up, he will have a plan in place to keep it clean. The filthy conditions is what probably made the dogs sick. Have fun shopping. Debbie, that afternoon off is probably just what Mike needed before this busy day. Hope it doesn't drag out any longer than necessary. Your peach cake sounds really good, as did your evening meal. I see you had potatoes - I have noticed that you don't have them very often. I really like them, and would miss them - I know they can raise the blood sugar, but I understand that the golden ones do not do that as much, and then the red ones are the next best. I often make hot dishes with them instead of using so much pasta. Last night I had a BT sandwich and fresh corn, but I cut it off the cob and then cooked it. Yummy! Well, I better move along on my day, even though it will be a slow one. I had to put the paper down yesterday afternoon while I was reading it, as I just couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.

Good Afternoon....
It sure is muggy after a quick downpour. Wasn't expecting any rain till later this afternoon...but I guess it decided to come early. We might still get another one later.
This weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) is the town festival. I heard on the radio that this is the 31st year for it. Wow...didn't realize it's been going on that long. We usually only make a quick walk through since we don't need anything and it's mostly just the same stuff. I heard there are 300+ vendors this year.
Got a much needed haircut and color this morning. Now I feel good again...LOL I set up my next two appts since my gal said she is already filling up fast right to the end of the year. Want to make sure I get my time in...LOL
Grammy...wow..that's unusual for a baby to be allergic to it's own mother's milk. That poor baby and trying to find the right formula. Glad it's doing better now.
Carolyn...hope you are doing well.
Mamma....so glad they listened to you and are cleaning up the dog area. I like morning showers but sometimes need another if I've been out working in the yard. Then a bed time one feels good.
GrammyDebbie...so glad Mike got a little reprieve from the heat...but now he has to face a very long day. Hopefully the company will treat them to a good meal.
Greenback...enjoy celebrating with your neighbors tonight. I'm sure they will enjoy it. Happy 50th to them.
Have a great day everyone....

Had a busy morning. Christina took me for my gum surgery. He cut both sides of my lower gum & removed bone so a denture will fit. Took a few pain pills when I go home. He said to take two Advil & one Tylenol that would be equivalent to a scrip pain pill & no side effects. Christina cleaned the bathroom & ran the sweeper.
Getting some rain today. My AC is still on. Going to be humid for a few days.
Mamma I usually shower at night Sometimes in the morning if I have a morning Drs. appt.

Good afternoon, a nice sunny 80* day. It rained sometime through the night but I didn't hear it. I saw it on the deck this a.m. I called my sister this a.m. then I have part of the cleaning done and will finish up another day. I took my phone to my DGSIL and had him remove/and put back in the Sim card. I've been dropping calls so I hope that works and I won't need to get a new phone. I got some cukes, tomatoes and squash this morning. Tomorrow I'll finish cleaning if I want to, if not, it'll be Saturday. I might do a load of laundry too. CAROLYN I hope the meds heal the infection for you. Take care!
MAMMA Did you find some goodies while shopping with your friends? I hope you did. It's just good to be with friends sometimes. Hooray! the puppy park is finally getting a much needed cleaning. Evidently you made an impression on the manager.
GRAMMY Are you spoiling the little baby? I haven't held a baby in such a long time I don't remember how long it's been. I am throwing hints at DGD and her DH but being told it most likely will be a while. LOL Actually, I do hope they adjust to married life before that happens, my "self" says I want it now. LOL
DEBBIE I think you make the entire GN hungry with all your good cooking! Wouldn't it be fun is we could all make our special dish and eat together!
GREENBACK How thoughtful of you to take the anniversary couple out for dinner. I'm sure they'll enjoy it and share some of their stories with you. Have an enjoyable time and evening with them.
CJ It's refreshing to get a good h/c and color. Many of my patrons always booked ahead and I did appreciate that. Enjoy time at the town celebration.
IC How are you feeling now? I hope the Advil and Tylenol will keep you from having a lot of pain and discomfort. Maybe getting the new teeth will lessen your dental expenses. Is Tinker doing well?

Hello, I'm sure everyone has called it a night, but here I am. It was a busy day, had to work at the other history center today w/ my MIL. I said I'd write an article for them, I think it'll be on the local garden club. I'll write a draft and see what they think. I just did one for my center on back to school. Just got back from supper with the neighbor. The guys are playing cards so we went out to eat, now I'm here after picking up the kitchen but will hit the shower soon and go to bed early. I've got to make a spice cake in the am and get a few other things done. Lots of thunder and lightning right now, Mrs. Brown Kravitz is not a fan, I think she remembers the tornado at the other house.
Mama, I'm surprised that they don't make the residents have their docs vaccinated.
I think I'll finish a couple of things and hit the shower, blessed be.
