Good morning, it's early, but was awake, so here I am. I did the dishwasher while I was waiting on the coffee. There is a history center meeting today and I need to make a WM stop for Al on my way, so I'll head out in about a half hour. The Yeti was just up, he put Mrs. Brown Kravitz out to destroy the grass. Last night I was at a meeting for the local history center and must've not been paying attention well as the lady was talking "....poor house...." "....-ore house..." I said, excuse me, did you say poor house or whore house? I know that there were a number of brothels in the surrounding areas when the railroads went in and during the logging boom. She so nonchalantly said it, I am pretty sure I did the cartoon version of a double take and "...wha? ?". Needless to say, the word was POORhouse. After everyone realize that I truly am a dork, I told them at least they knew I was there. My aunt is the secretary so I asked that that be omitted from the minutes. She then said "oh no, definitely going in." I then offered to bake something for the event coming up. I have to for ladies aid at the church the night before, so just double the recipes. Welcome to my brain. There's coffee and bagels, help yourselves.

Just a quick stop to say Hello before I head out for the day - - first to coffee and then to the hospital for the afternoon. The day will be about shot when I get home. Not much happening here this early but I have had a phone call already and it was even a business one! I guess I needed this quick stop to have Laurie start my day with a chuckle! Have a good one.

Doing ok in Florida except I have a sinus infection.

We just had breakfast and are going to pick up my med.

Good morning
Muggy this morning but not as bad as it has been. Monsoon season is the reason for the higher dew points and it will only get worse with rain moving into the area this week. Now I really wish I didn't have to go outside for anything. I wish Mandy could go potty on the toilet. LOL
Today or tomorrow morning I need to go to the bank and cash the check Marks sister sent me. So very kind of them to do this so often. I am told to get something with the money that I wouldn't ordinarily buy. Maybe Home Goods will have something when us girls go there Thursday.
Laurie you whore house chuckle made me think of our first time in Pahrump, Nevada. We stopped for pictures at the "Chicken Ranch". Anyone remember the movie "Best Little Whore House in Texas", with Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds? (a musical) That is where this brothel stems from. There are a lot of brothels in Nevada.
One more cup of coffee and then on to my morning chores. Mandy has already been out, but just wanted to stare into space again. >:D

Goodmorning grannies, it's a beautiful morning with sunshine, lower humidity, yesterday it was bad. The temp will stay in the 70s this afternoon. May be a good day to be outside for a little while. The weeds are waiting!
Laurie, your story gave me a chuckle also! Bet we could all tell some good stories about our goof ups!
CJ I see you made something happen with the new hair cut! I like it. the stylist was really scissor happy when I got the last cut. Two months and it's still very short!@!
Greenback sounds like a busy day but a nice one for you.
Mamma what a nice surprise to find a check in your mail box. Hope you find something special to use it for.
I'm home alone everyone is busy away from home this morning, DD is working at the the polls as Oh has a special election today. Only one issue but all the polls have to be open for the regular time.
Company arriving for GA late this afternoon. Chef's sis, dh and two little ones will be here for a few days. That means there will be 12 people here! DD and DH are giving up their room and moving down here dd will use the futon in the multipurpose room her dh sleeps in a recliner so he will have mine I get my usual spot in my bedroom. Company gets their room with bath and everyone has comfy place. This is the way my house was for years, with kids then grownups coming to visit andI do miss all of those people.
Almost time for some lunch so I should head that way.

I just got home from prayer meeting. I'm going to eat lunch then get some groceries. I need to call a prescription in too. DGD and her DH have invited me to join them for supper tonight. I'm excited for that!! My grass will get mowed later this afternoon too.
LAURIE Quite an experience but I bet all enjoyed the laugh.
GREENBACK Are you a greeter at the hospital who directs people where they want to go? Days do go by quickly. At least most of the time.
CJ Stinkin' post!! I hate it when that happens. All the time posting and it's gone.
CAROLYN I hope you feel better soon. Too bad about the sinus infection.
GRAMMY It sounds like a fun time and a full house! We do need people! At least I do. Enjoy the company.

Grammy...LOL..that's a recent pic of me, but haven't had a haircut yet. That will be on Thursday. I figured I needed a more up to date pic. The other one was from 2018 and I've aged since then...LOL
I made my run to Kroger and the Dollar Tree...so should be good for a while.

Nasty storms here last night. Couldn't even open the front door Wind was really blowing. TV went out a few times & the bathroom lights flickered.
Christina was here & did the bathroom & floors. We went to the drug store to get my meds. Grocery store was closed. No power & I want to get the meats that were on sale.
Jane Your always so busy. That is a good thing.
Laurie We're all getting a good chuckle from your story. Not you of course. Your allowed. We all make mistakes at times.

Good afternoon to all. A warm one here, rain expected for tomorrow, but it keeps getting pushed further back in the day, so we will see. I got my morning walk in a bit earlier than usual today; Mike had been told work was going to start at 6:00, but got a text at 4:00 a.m. that the problem encountered yesterday was solved overnight and work would convene at the regular time of 7:00 a.m. It was hard to go back to sleep at 4:00, so we both were up early. I just came in from the pool where I walked my laps and then read for a short while until the sun and breeze could dry me off a bit. I went shopping this morning; I like to shop a couple of my favorite stores on Tuesdays as they have a 10% discount to those of us 55 and over on that day. Found the boys some funny underwear for Christmas; funny underwear and socks have become a Christmas tradition from me. Gives me something small to package together for them since we are doing the condo in Branson for the family gift again this year. Got Emmett some root beer underwear, Eli some ramen noodle ones and Drew some nutter butter ones. They get such a kick out of them and they do wear them. I have my eye on some funny socks at, of all places, one of the grocery stores, but am waiting to see if they might go on sale or go clearance. They have Kraft mac and cheese ones, some cereal ones, some cookie ones, etc. Last year I got Drew matching Eggo underwear and socks and he wore them with his uniform during his basketball games--they were his lucky charms and his teammates and the other team complimented his socks!
CJ, we really liked the pasta and chicken thighs. I deviated from the recipe a little bit to use what I had on hand. I used spaghetti noodles instead of rigatoni, used one can of diced tomatoes and one can of chunky vegetable spaghetti sauce, omitted the sugar, and added a touch of cream to help cut the acid in the tomato sauce. It was delicious and we have enough left for supper tonight. I am adding a bagged chopped salad and I am just now putting some small sweet peppers stuffed with a cheese mixture and wrapped in bacon in the oven. I found those on clearance at the grocery store today. I am really going to miss that store, I get to try all different kinds of things by stopping by almost daily and get some really good deals, plus introduce us to new things.
The little cannoli cookies were so good. I just mixed a cup of ricotta cheese, 1/4 cup powdered sugar and 1 Tablespoon of regular sugar together and spread it between vanilla wafers. Then, dipped the sandwiched cookies in melted white chocolate and sprinkled with chocolate chips. I swear I brought a bag of mini chocolate chips up here, but durned if I could find them, so I crushed up part of a bag of espresso chocolate chips I had here and had been wanting to try so I thought, why not? Tiramisu has espresso in it, right? Anyway, they were so cute and quite tasty. We have enough of those left for tonight, too.
Better start warming supper up. Mike will be home in about a half hour. Waving to all and wishing you a good evening.

Home again and it's been mostly a good day! When I pulled into the hospital, I thought it must be a really slow day there, as there were only 3 cars in the lot. I've never seen it that empty. Not to worry, people started coming in right after I did and kept up all afternoon - - Lots of people going to PT and getting massages and I know some were meeting with the gal i charge of diabetic education. It's amazing, just a steady stream of people coming and going. I forgot who asked - I can help direct them to certain area's, but others I need to refer them to the gals in reception. Most of them just go there. My biggest job is to sit there and say hello and smile! I stopped at KS and got some of the things I really needed, and probably a couple I didn't. I now have fresh milk, eggs, and bread! I got some buns too and put in the freezer for when I want pulled pork again or maybe even maidrites.
My bummer for the day is that I lost my cell phone. The pants I had on had very shallow pockets and I know I had it when I left the house this morning, because I picked it up off the floor when I put my shoes on. when I got to Jane's for coffee, I didn't have it.. I looked in the car and didn't find it, so I called the guys at the tire center where I have an oil change scheduled for tomorrow, and asked them to really look for it - as it can't really be anywhere else I think. I try to keep it one me all the time. I also asked him to take my license plates off and put in the car as I am going to the courthouse and get handicap ones, and I have to turn them in and then asked it I could come up and have them put the new ones on once I get them.
So that's my day - I better warm up my leftovers.
