We don't have the kids today. They went up north with the other grandparents. DD & DSIL will go up today sometime. We were invited to go too, but declined with DMIL still in the rehab place. We would have liked to go, but DH doesn't want to go and leave it all to his brother. We don't think that would sit well with him.
DMIL seems to be doing better. She still has her ups and downs days but all in all she is doing much better. Her short term memory isn't very good, but then I say that has to do with aging and also the ordeal she went through recently. DH thinks she should have a much clearer memory. I don't agree and think it is what it is at this point. She's doing really well with her physical therapy.
GrammyDebbie...what a scary time with the weather, for your kids. Glad no one was hurt and they found shelter. What fun times and memories with the boys you have made.
Carolyn...how is your toe? It sounds like you are enjoying your visit with your DD. I'm glad you were able to do.

Turned the AC back on last night Humidity returns today No plans for today.

Good morning grannies, it's a beautiful day with sunshine and clear skies. Humidity will stay in the comfort range as the temp goes to low 80s. Enjoy these last days of summer! Sept. will be here all too soon with the chilly mornings. The Red Wing blackbirds and Grackles have already headed South! Two hummers playing tag at one feeder the other one must need a refill to keep them happy.
The work got done yesterday so not much on my "to do" list for today. I might go out and pull a few weeds after I have lunch. If I go out then it means I don't need to make another trip up the stairs! Save energy, especially mine!
CJ what a shame you had to miss out on the trip to the summer place! Must be lots of fun to be there with the dgc! MIL needs care and attention now and good to know her "boys" are there to help with her care. Hope she improves and doesn't need them as much. Caring for the eldery can be a difficult time for everyone. Maybe you can use the week end to rest up for the next week! Those little ones can tire the GP out quickly!
IC the AC stays on here and I wear my flannel shirt while the others sweat!
Time to do something not sure what it will be.

Good morning.
It's a nice morning for a nice change. Sunny, 85 and low dew point. It will be tolerable when I go and water Jills plants today. I might sweep off the porch after I cool down from the watering.
Not much planned for today other than some dusting and that isn't much. Unless I decide to change the sheets today instead of tomorrow. I wish I was able to wash the walls. I know they are dirty. Years ago washing walls was part of fall and spring cleaning for me. I did as mom did. But alas age has decided it doesn't need to get done. I've learned to ignore some things that used to drive me crazy. Looks like I am stuck in crazy now. LOL
Yesterday Patty brought over three huge cinnamon muffins from Sams Club. Oh they are so good. But so big that I only eat half at a time. Yes, I could easily eat the whole thing, but then I would feel guilty for eating so much at one time. Some times I don't listen to my feelings though.
Cj, good to hear that DMIL is doing better. And I too am sorry that you had to miss out on the fun trip. There will be other times I'm sure.
Grammy, enjoy some down time today. All that corn the other day would tire me for a couple days.
IC, a/c won't get turn off here for quite some time yet. But at least the dew point has been down to normal for a couple days. That makes the heat much more tolerable. Not that it gets as high here as it does up north.
Coffee is done time to either make the bed or strip the bed. Hmmmmm Nah, I'll just go and water the plants.

Woohoo, my email went through and was answered by the admin of the park. He will be here Tuesday for a week and the pet area will be taken care of, he promised. I asked for anonymity so I wouldn't have any retaliation for my complaint. He has 4 dogs himself so he understood why the areas need to be addressed. Usually I just talk a good talk, but this time I had to take action and speak up. Pets are getting sick. Mostly I stay invisible, too much drama that I like to avoid. Now I can go back to being in the background. Unless of course the maintenance of the pet area isn't maintained.

My kids have always loved chili and it is a easy meal to make. Today I am not cooking. She has some stuff in the freezer My toe is getting better but my knee has flared up with great pain. I have called Joys doctor. They called back with a appt. Yay Sure hope all of you are well There is not a lot of news here. Working on crocheting a doll blanket  Take care everyone🌺 |

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's 83 and almost 11:30. Since I have the AC still on since I turned it on for the cleaning people yesterday, I think I will leave it on, or at least until evening -then I may turn it off and open up again. I feel so isolated with thing all closed - Funny, I don't feel that way in the winter. Had some chores to do before I got here today - Still having my second cup of coffee too.
CJ, happy to hear that your MIL is progressing for the most part, and hope she can go home again soon, but then she will likely isolate herself again, so there has been some good things happening there at the rehab place. I understand why DH wouldn't want to go right now.
Good Morning IC -enjoy your slow day and just relax.
Grammy, good for you to relax today too - Glad you got the corn done, and sounds like you received a generous amount extra. My sis said she had lots too if I wanted to come and get some. I think I will pass. Tonight is corn days/crazy days downtown and you get corn a sandwich and watermelon, but I don't plan to go down - eating at a picnic table is not a good idea for me - can't bend the legs enough to sit on one comfortably. Besides, I'd rather take my 10.00 and put it towards a fish dinner in AC comfort that to eat with the bee's!
Mamma, so glad your report of the don run conditions were listened too - Now, if he get's here and cleans it up, he had better have a stern chat with the managers about keeping it up - I know, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Lay low today and keep cool.

I changed my mind on the AC Dew point isn't to high & the temp. is around 75* I opened up again.
Carolyn Hope the Dr. can help you with your knee problem. Good news on your toe.

Hello, just sitting taking a break, I was out picking chokecherries again. I thought they'd be all ready today, I may go out one more time, if not that is fine too. The Yeti went to pick up two of BIL's kids at camp two hours away. Three of the four that they adopted have a special needs sister that is being adopted by another family today. Confused yet? I think there are some more half-siblings somewhere too. So, he's off doing that, wasn't asked to go with and didn't ask to go with.
I was up during the night with wicked heart burn, guess I will need to go back on that med, dang it. Better go pick these chokecherries over, Blessed be.
