Good Morning...
It's August...half the year is done already.
First of all...my condolences go out to Laurie. I'm sorry for your loss. And I'm happy to hear you will be a grandma. Congrats to your DS & DDIL...exciting times ahead.
It looks gray out there, but no rain is in the forecast.
Yesterday I had Teddy and Penny. Teddy had a really bad ear infection over the weekend. He ended up at the ER because of his high temperature. And Penny woke up yesterday not feeling good. So I offered to take them both. Teddy was fine, Penny was sluggish and mostly laying around. DD's dog got sprayed by a skunk...so they have that to take care of too. She said the shampoo they got has seemed to work good.
Visited DMIL last night after supper. She is in pretty good spirits and is doing some things on her own, such as using the bathroom. They have started therapy and she said they give her a good work out. So that's encouraging. The dr stopped in her room while we were there and he told us having us and anyone else that wants to visit is so very good for her and to keep it up.
My mom is still having dizzy/shaky starts to her day...so don't know what is going on there. She sees her dr on Thursday.
My friend and co worker who lost her husband and mother one day apart, has now lost her dad. I don't know how she can endure all this, but I know her faith is strong.
Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great day.........

Good morning, many thanks for the messages and kind words, they are greatly appreciated.
It looks like it is going to rain, the temp is dropping, breeze is picking up and the clouds are moving in. I am passing on Mahjong this morning as we are going to the American Legion to donate the wheelchair. When we first needed a walker and wheel chair we found out that they generously loan, with no cost, and to return it when done if possible. So, since we have no use nor space for this big wheelchair, that was our first choice. My brother thought we'd store it, if offered this idea and that's what we'll do. Later I am going to go out and pick chokecherries as they are ready, maybe even before we go. I need to see what time the Yeti wants to go. There is still some coffee, help yourselves. Blessed be.

Good morning. The dew point according to me, is oppressive out there. I could hardly wait for Mandy to finish so we could get back home to the ac. I'm hoping it gets better by the time I have to make a couple runs sometime today. Yuck.
Yesterday I got some more cards done for Thanksgiving. My friend Jill, wants 4 Christmas cards, two Thanksgiving, two birthday and I forget what else. She will send me the list. She asked that all 12 be Christian. Even have a bible verse on them. This will be an interesting challenge to fit in a small space.
This morning I meet by phone with my Pastor. Maybe next time his wife and set him up on her Facebook account and we can do a video chat. He is not tech savvy at all.
CJ, I'm relieved to hear that DMIL is doing better. But it saddens me to hear that you mom is having issues. I hope that can be fixed real soon.
Laurie, are you going to change your log in as Gramlaurie soon? Good luck with everything today.
Cinnamon rolls on the table help yourself.

Good morning grannies, looks like we will have another nice day with sunshine, no rain and lower temp and humidity.
I've been out and back this morning a trip to the retina dr for another shot in the eye. A little improvement and come back in 8 weeks. Since we were passing the plant library we stopped to see what was there. I did pick up a nice Yucca plant. I had a couple of them when I moved here but they were too deep rooted to try to move. I'm happy to get this one! Blooming season it over but I hope to see it in bloom nest year!
Laurie will you be busy making more jam or syrup? I'm trying to identify a tree that we have that could be chokecherry. I asked google about it and but I think it might be wild cherry.
CJ hope the little ones are better today. They are so fortunate to have you close enough to help with the child care while they work. sounds like MIL is doing better.
Mamma nice sale for the cards! I'm sure you will find the appropriate verses for the cards.
Game time this afternoon it the only thing on my list!

Hi again, in from covering the chair and then picking about an ice cream pail of choke cherries. They are definitely ready, some fall when you hit the branch. I am planning just chokecherry syrup, I have a lot of jelly right now. I'll go back out in a bit as my pod cast ended and I couldn't add another. I'm thinking there were mosquitoes out there, I feel some bites, got me through my leggings. I just put on knee high rubber boots this time, not messing with anything on the ankles. Maybe a nap will happen when we are on the road today, we'll see.

My chat with my Pastor went well this morning. I now know I'm not losing my mind and all that I'm feeling and going through is very normal. A long hard journey. It felt good to "let it all out" so to speak. I am not "cured" but feel better about what my feelings are and how I'm dealing with them. Now if I could just get my online shopping under control. Darn crafts are so costly. hehehe If I would stay off of Pinterest that would help. So many ideas I can change and work with.
Since I didn't get a pizza this weekend, I'm determined to have one for lunch TODAY. The craving won't go away until I have a pizza. hehe So that will be my lunch today and a burger for supper (no bun) with fresh mushrooms, tomato slice and wrapped in a lettuce leaf; I don't like buns.

Christina came today Didn't have her do to much She ran the sweeper & cleaned the bathroom. We went to the grocery store Thursday I'll have her wet mop the floors She left early to go home & rest. She's been working seven days a week. She only has me & one other client now. She's taking Sundays off from now on. She needs that day off.
CJ Glad your MIL is starting to feel better. Hope your mom starts feeling better soon too Your poor friend losing both parents & her DH in such a short time.
Grammy Beautiful weather here too & no humidity till Thursday Doors & windows are open. Tinker is having a ball laying on the back porch. She can't escape from there. I put a gate on my front door. She lays on the rug there & looks out.

Good Afternoon Ladies - - - I am home from the funeral and although I did nothing but sit, I am really tired so will mostly wave and send hugs to all. I think I need to get in my chair and get the ice pack out again. It was warm & stuffy when I got here, but it's better now after I opened things up and turned the ceiling fan on in here. Laurie, will there be a service for your Father? I know there are lots of loose ends to tie up at a time like this, and I continue to keep you in my thoughts. CJ, good news/bad news day for you - - Gad things are going well with MIL and sorry to hear that your Mom and the kids are both still under the weather - - Hoping things change around for all of them real soon. Mamma, glad the phone call went well.

Hello-we just got back a bit ago-I was going to go pick chokecherries but it is raining, trying to stop though. I'll finish cleaning the ones I picked this morning.
There won't be a funeral, he didn't want one, so we will honor that wish. I've been making calls to get his name off of accounts, etc. finding out where I need a D Cert and all. We took his wheel chair to the local American Legion. They loan equipment out to people who need it, bring it back when done. We got a few things before he had come to my house and returned those before-they came in during covid to get them for us. It was agreed that it was a good place for it to go. Now to empty the truck and decide what to do with the clothing. I've an idea, but I've got to read more about it.
