Good morning, have a high and a low here for you.
High-#1 and DIL are expecting-we found out on Saturday night. They gave each of us a gift bag with a coffee mug in it, saying Grandma or Grandpa. He said he found out on their anniversary and they are due Feb. 10. They've been together almost five years.
Low-Dad passed away last night around 9 pm. I'd been there Saturday afternoon to see him, he was asleep most of the time. Yesterday the nurse (one of my favorites) told him about the baby for me, I hope he was able to hear her. Reply Quick Reply

Good morning grannies. It's a beautiful morning but not so hot as it has been temp only going to 80 this afternoon. No rain in sight! Yea for a little time to dry out.
Mamma, the grief counseling sounds like a good idea for you and I'm so glad you have someone to help you at this time. We all grieve in a different way there is no right way or wrong way to find your way thru this time. I had 2 years to prepare for DH's death and I believe that was my time for grieving. Hospice offered grief counseling but I felt that I was doing ok. I am sure this is a big step for you but sometimes we all need a little help. By the way, your craft room looks like a nice place to work on some creative things!
Yesterday after church dd wanted to stop at a moving sale for me to see some silk flowers. I bought a big tote filled with flowers for $5.00 and it's so much fun playing with them. I love messing with them and making arrangements even if I'm not so good at it I like to do it! Lots of fun for me now!
Kathy came down to help me put the clean sheets on my bed this morning. How much easier it is when someone is helping! Sure wears me out running around the bed when I have to do this job alone.
A mamma deer and her baby were checking out things near my patio. Hope there nothing there the want to eat! There was just one baby this morning I don't know if this is the one that had the triplets or not???
Nothing much for me to do now that the clean sheets are on the bed! Maybe I'll play with the flowers and put something together to replace the 4th of July stuff on the mantle. It's time to change that red white and blue1

Laurie, so happy to hear that you will soon be a grannie! The coffee mugs were a very cleaver way to tell you of the blessed event. Lots of things for a grannie to do before Feb. So many cute things to shop for or make! congratulations to everyone!
I was saddened to know that your dad passed away as you were enjoying the good news. Good to know it was a peaceful time. God at work in your life as you say good bye to one and look forward to the birth of your first DGC!

Good Morning Ladies - - - A nice morning here again - It's up to 70 now and the air fells so fresh and nice after being cooped up a few days yesterday. Laurie, Many hugs for you and your family - - Hugs of joy and hugs of sadness. May your father now rest in peace and everything go smoothly as you all say your final goodbye. And in the midst of the sadness, a new life to look forward too and fill your hears with love and joy. I will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Grammy, it sure does help to have that help with making the bed up. Even just the fitted sheet helps. as it seems like when I get one corner on, another pops off. I guess there are worse problems in the world around us. That was a really good buy on the flowers - the tote alone is worth the $5. You will have lots to choose from now. Not much happening here today - I'm ready for another cup of coffee - my toast was cold by the time I got in here - my right knee really wants to give out on me, so it took me a long time for the walk in here. I will check back later.

Good rainy morning. Wow did we have a wild wind last night. It woke me up at 12:30. With the wind and then it got mixed with hard rain, it really sounded nasty out there. Mandy was scared of all the unfamiliar noise, but only got on the bed once for just a second or two. This morning I checked the radar as soon as I got up. I hurriedly got dress and we headed out before the next rain. With the hard rain and wind the seat on the golf cart was dry. How did that happen? We made it home dry too. Off and on rain all day. I hope I can still safely plug in the golf cart. The battery really dropped down last night. When the rain lets up I'll switch the positions of the car and cart and use the car the rest of the day.
Laurie congratulations and my deepest sympathy to you. You were a good and kind daughter whom your dad loved. Take care of you!
Grammy, when mom passed I had about a year to grieve before her passing so I understand what you mean. You are so blessed to have such a loving caring family close at hand. Wow, what a deal on the silk flowers. I love to arrange them too and not very good at it either, but it's fun.
Jane, I do hope that your knee will feel better as the morning goes on. Take care.
Keurig coffee this morning and a nice big cinnamon roll that I picked up yesterday when out with Jill. Mmmmmm, what a treat.
If it ever stops raining long enough I need to go out and check the softener for salt. That is all I have on my to do list for today.

LAURIE Congratulations! your world will be forever changed when that little one comes. What a blessing. I'm also sorry to learn of your father's passing. I'll be praying for the comfort and memories you have to hold you up during this time. Hugs!
A beautiful morning here. It's so comfy outside and the sun is bright. Very low humidity. I'm thinking of taking a walk but I also want to get a car wash and stop at $General. What will it be?? I have a dentist appointment this afternoon. Just routine and that most likely will be cleaning and maybe an xray. This is a busy week as the 127 longest yard sale starts Thursday through Sunday and I'll be helping my sister part of the time.
GRAMMY I bet your flower arrangements are much nicer than you give yourself credit for!!! Maybe put them out to "fool" the deer and other critters that eat your plants. LOL I sure could use Kathy here too when it comes to changing sheets!
GREENBACK I'm sorry about the knee. Is this one you have had surgery on? Will you need to have it checked out. We don't want you to fall!! and I know you don't want to either. Enjoy your day and remember, it's ok to relax!
MAMMA How nice is it that you and Mindy didn't get wet. It can be scary when we get woke up with wind and rain. But I think you said you need the rain there? I bet you'll find plenty to do today, you seem to keep busy.
Hi to all the GN coming in.

Laurie, so sorry to hear that your dad passed. May God watch over you and your family. Congrats on your baby. Babies are wonderful esp. when they are our own grand children. We got a haircut and are heading to shop for groceries. Think we may cook some things and head to the beach tomorrow My face n hair doesn't like the humidity here and the hot atmosphere. I am so pale anyway and my face is broke out. Hope everyone is well. Be back later

Grammy I turned my AC off this morning. Humidity is finally lower. There is a breeze at times coming in with both my doors open. Tinker likes to lay on the back porch. She can do it now with everything open. She enjoys it. We sit outside every morning & a night for an hour each time.
Jane My one leg has been giving out on me. I'm waiting for a fall.
Laure Sorry to hear of your dad's passing It is a happy & sad time for you. You can look forward to being a grandma.

I'm back again -- I finished making the cool cucumber pasta salad, and I had a half a sandwich and a small spoonful of the salad. I haven't made it for awhile and gee, it tasted good to me. Would love a big spoonful, but I need it for the funeral tomorrow. I hope they like it. The Fed Ex guy was here, and I like when they deliver as they ring the doorbell. Nice to know it's there to bring in, not that is a big worry in my neighbor, on a dead end street and the sheriff live across the street from me, but no need to tempt anyone. My neighbor brought in my mail and a small green pepper and 2 small tomatoes. I need to get my garbage out in the container and push it out of the door and he will take it to the street. My church counting partner messaged me that she has a sore knee and to not count on her for Aug. and she would see about Sept. I think once I get the garbage taken care of, I will head to the chair with an ice pack.

Good afternoon, all. It's a much nicer day here in IL. Three grandsons came back to IL with us yesterday evening. We took them out to a big supper before getting to the apartment and then they went swimming. Today, Eli is at work with Mike. He said they are testing today which is more boring than he had hoped for Eli, but he did say Eli is hearing lots of stories!!?? He was hoping to get them out to see some welding and digging this afternoon. When they test pipe, they pressurize it, either with water or nitrogen, and take it up to specified pressures for specific amounts of time to make sure that the pipe can withstand the job that it will be doing. It's very technical, charts, graphs, documenting, etc., and Mike is their expert at it, but it is not what a teenage boy would consider exciting, I am sure.
Drew and Emmett slept in this morning while I walked and, after breakfast, we went to Eckerts Orchard and picked peaches. They were nearly out of peaches to pick, but we managed to find some very nice ones and picked a much larger box than I anticipated--especially when they rang up our purchase at the $2.49 per pound going price! Emmett was really upset--he apparently thought when he read the sign that they were paying $2.49 per pound to those who picked the peaches--LOL. By the way, Emmett's dad called this morning to tell him that his pickles that he entered in the county fair Saturday morning were chosen to be exhibited at the State Fair! He is very excited! After picking peaches, we came back here for lunch and then the three of us went to the pool for well over an hour. They have had showers now, a snack and drinks, and are chilling out watching the new Transformers movie.
Laurie, what a perspective you have right now on the cycle of life! Bless you, my dear friend, as you both celebrate/anticipate and remember/grieve. So happy for you to earn the title of grandma, but so sad that you must do so while mourning the passing of your dad. Will #1 and DDIL be finding out whether it will be a boy or girl? So exciting for you and the Yeti! Like you, I hope your dad new about the coming baby. Love and sympathy are being sent your way.
Time to help these boys not be bored! Wishing all a good afternoon!
