I'll be heading to the UPS with a return sometime this morning. And that is about all of the outdoors that care to do. But it won't be the last time.
My curtains didn't arrive yesterday so this room was a disaster all day and this morning. But they are now out for delivery. Yippeee, I can get this mess straightened. I do hope that the pink is a pink I can live with too. If it's too light it won't do, but make the room more dull. Once the room is done I'm sure I'll be too tired to do much of anything else. The body may be weak but the mind will want to do more. Maybe I better listen to the body. hehehe
Nothing else new here, just the same stuff, different day.

Good morning, I have had my shower and some breakfast. Had a couple of boiled eggs and thinking about some watermelon. Think we are going to Walmart later when Joy gets here. She offered me her car to run around while she at work. I declined. The traffic here is quadrupled compared to home. Remember I live in the country up a mountain? And even though the main Hwy. runs through there It is nothing compared to here. Hope everyone is feeling well 🦋

Good Morning Ladies - - - It sure can stay hot, but after today, they say it will be a little better. I just can't imagine riding a bike across the state in this H & H. They are on this side of the state now, and tonight is the last overnighter. I think they said 17,000 registered bikers with more joining in for a day or two along the way. Not my idea of a good time. It's 81 at 10:00 AM. I was in for the day yesterday and plan the same for today. I had a package, so the mailman brought it to the porch and I didn't have to go out to get it - - Yes, for the delievery guy. Yesterday, I made cabbage patch stew. The receipe is for a stew, but I usually make it more like a soup, but didn't have a big can of tomato juice so it is a stew this time and really tasted good to me. Of course, I love cooked cabbage, so that may make the difference.. It's been a while since I have made it too, and the head of homegrown cabbage my sis gave me, may have made a difference too. I've had a message from one of the HS friends this morning, and another classmate has passed away. That's 2 this month. We have lost a lot of classmates. Otherwise, not much happening here today, or at least at this point. Mamma hope the curtain's will be a pretty shade of pink, just what you have in mind. I have to admit that pink isn't one of my favorite colors, especially a pale pink. Hot pink is much better though. Sunday, I noticed how salmon pink was the popular color. Seemed like lots of it was being worn that day. CJ, hope both mothers are doing better today. Laurie, hope all is well with your guys too - How did the zipper repair go? Waving at all and keep cool.

Good Afternoon....
Hot and humid here. It's cloudy too.
Teddy is napping.... he doesn't feel good today and hasn't eaten much of anything. Didn't even want a cookie. I gave him some Motrin but most of it he let run out down his neck. And he didn't even want his bottle of milk that he usually gets at nap time. So I know he doesn't feel well. Penny is at the dentist, DD will bring her here when she's done.
My mom called this morning that she is still feeling kinda dizzy. Told her to drink her water and rest today. And DMIL is finally being released this afternoon and will go to a rehab place near the hospital. Hoping that transition goes well. DH and his brother are with her now and will transport her to the new facility.
Hope everyone is doing well and having a great day.......

Good afternoon, it's hot and muggy here too, 89* and getting hotter. We had some rain this a.m. but not much. Just enough to wet the pavement and need to use the car wipers. I had breakfast with my classmate this a.m. We've been friends so long and it keeps getting better. Her husband passed shortly after mine did. She now has a new special friend and I'm happy for her. I have clothes in the dryer and bird food on the stove. I think I'm going to Bath and Body to get some Wall Flowers. I have a coupon for a free one and another coupon for 20% off.
MAMMA I'm seeing on the TV how hot it is in your state and others. Wow! Is the UPS place close to you? The heat just seems to take the energy out of me. I really haven't been outside much, just in and out.
CAROLYN It sounds like you're enjoying family. I don't like to drive if I don't know where I'm going! And especially if the traffic is busy.
GREENBACK I hadn't heard about the bikers. Wow! that's a lot of bikers and yes! it is hot. I'm not sure it's even safe. They definitely would need to stay hydrated. Where do they put all the water? I guess they would have saddle bags or something like that on their bikes.
CJ Poor Teddy, he must really not feel well to refuse one of grandma's cookies. I hope your DM's start feeling well soon. I think the "stage" you're in now is called, (was in my day) the sandwich age. Sandwiched between kids and parents care. One confession from me, sad to say, I have 3 girls who are sandwich girls trying to make sure I'm taking care of myself. It comes all too soon. But I still am thankful for my life, every breath I take and every day.
That's all from me and I said plenty. LOL

O my, your plate is full lately, CJ. I hope that transition go's well with DMIL, and she doesn't put up too much of a fuss. Is there a neighbor that can check on your mom until you can see if she needs more help again? Hopefully she will get her fluids and perk up again.. And then poor little Teddy. I always feel bad when the little ones are sick and not up to par. Hope it's just a 24 hour thing. Is he getting his fluids with this heat. He also could be lacking in them. So many bugs floating around, I guess. A friend was at ER last week and they said there were 3 different things going. I just go a call to get ready for a funeral luncheon next week - It will be a big one, as they said to plan for 175 for lunch. This will take 2 of the circles to do it. Looks like I will be spending some time on the phone this afternoon and maybe tomorrow as well.

Ellie, this is a major bike ride called RAGBRAI and it's the 50th Anniversary ride this year. They camp out along the way and every town they go through is prepared for them with water and food and lots of stops in between towns even. It starts on the western boarder with them dipping their back wheel in the Missouri River and ends on the eastern boarder where they dip the front wheel in the Mississippi. The route is different every years as are the host cities and pass through towns. We were a host city, maybe 5 years ago or so.

CJ, sending you big hugs and prayers. So much on your plate these days. {{{HUGS}}}
Elle, yep, it's hot and it's muggy, but not as humid as in MN right now. Glad I'm not there. Being with my friends such as you, I really miss my home town. For no other reason though. I've never been to one of my class reunions, guess I really didn't care for but three people in my class. Mark and I went to all of his reunions though. He had a fun class where everyone was equal, unlike mine. The UPS is just across the highway/road from me. Easy peasy. Stay cool!!
Jane, bikers or bicyclist?? Big difference. Still too hot and humid for a fun ride. But much cooler on a motorcycle, until you have to stop. UGH. Been there done that. When I got my motorcycle license I never peddled again. Your cabbage patch stew/soup sounds quite good. I too like cooked cabbage. And I agree, I like a bright pink better than a softer shade. In fact I like every color bright.

Hello, missed the good morning greeting. I've been on the phone a bit too, taking a break for now.
Let's see yesterday, I had the directions to the wrong house, then the man at the house told me which one to go to, wrong one as well. Finally got to the right one 30 min late, but all was well. We went to a little town about 45 minutes away and had a guided tour with more free time to explore at the local museum. It was really interesting and it was fun to see how they set up their displays-new ideas are always good! Then, we went down town and parked. We'd been given an itinerary of activities and a little grid to cross off places for a scavenger type hunt as well as a coupon book for the town. This is one of the towns closest to Itasca State Park which is the headwaters of the Mississippi River, very touristy town. So, we checked out many small stores and went to a boutique (Debbie-you'd have loved this one) and the owner gave us a mini fashion update for the fall and some great discounts as well as a $10 off gift card. I picked up a couple of Swedish dishcloths and a topper for a wine bottle, so it can lay down once opened and not leak. More exploring followed-I had to get some postcards for the kiddos I send them to, then we met for lunch at a little diner-yummmmm. I had the best beer cheese soup I've ever had. It came with crunchy croutons-if you are in WI it comes with popcorn on top. Soup and sandwich was one of their specials-I had an all veggie sandwich on a wonderful multigrain bread and basil mayo. A girl came from the bookstore next door and gave us a talk on what book clubs are choosing and what is new in the store. Then, more window shopping and we ended at a winery. We got together in their meeting room and our "tour guide" gifted everyone with something as a prize for the scavenger hunt. After that, home again home again, jiggly jig. This is the book club that my aunt invited me to, nice group of ladies. One lives four houses down from my ILs, too funny.
I was home long enough to change clothes and got a call from the NH, changed my clothes again and headed up there. My brother went in now and I'll go tomorrow. Following a multitude of calls this am and taking a break, I am going to get ready to head to the farm. I've got to get dog food and then tomorrow I'll get groceries on the way home. Unless there is a change in plans I'll stay at the farm tonight, tomorrow I will work at the history center in the morning, go to the nursing home, get groceries and then pick the Yeti up to go to Turnerfest. Two of his cousins are very accomplished musicians and they have a gathering there every summer with many others joining them. The Yeti is making soup and biscuits for his card game this afternoon, good time for me to head out.
There, that's all I know, BBBL, blessed be.

Carolyn, could one of your kids/grandkids face time with you so you could see the baby? I think you should stay as long as you can, enjoy your time.
My phone said it was going to stop raining here, it has not started yet? It's only to be 80* today, looks nice out.
I don't order a lot from Amazon, #1 and DIL and the Yeti do, but I've fairly had to return anything.

IC, what you read doesn't appear to be true, not in my case anyway. There are some false adds saying that Amazon won't be taking returns. So not true. I've never ever had any issues with returns and I return quite often. And I order from Amazon very often.
The curtains are here. Not quite the shade I was hoping for. But with the pretty rhinestone tiebacks, they look lovely. So I'll keep them. The color is a dusty rose so the desert dust shouldn't show too much too quickly. I've put them in the dryer with a wet towel so I don't have to iron them. I'm so anxious to get this room back in order..... before I lose my mind.

Just passing thru with a hi to everyone. This was food distribution day and I could go today. I hadn't been there for a few months. Nice people to work with and feel useful also. I suppose God called me to be a servant for I do like the volunteer work. I love interacting with people. Today I put apples into bags so they were ready for the people. A full container of them. A container like you might see melons or some other produce. Then I helped with giving them out as people came thru the line. While there it poured rain several times, sorry those in need didn't get some of it. We would be fine if it had skipped us today. I always wonder if there is a job I can do or am I filling a need. I was told by the person in charge to come anytime there's always something to do!
A tired but happy grannie

Mamma, these are peddle bikes! I think it's to hot be healthy out there - but I haven't heard of any one not making it and that does happen some years. This is the hottest it has ever been, but always seems to be the hottest week of July. Grammy, I think you and I have the same idea about volunteering. I enjoy doing it and would like to be able to do more of it. The thing I like most is the interaction with others, and you always seem to get to visit with people you don't often get to see or chat with, and it's a good feel feeling knowing that yo have helped in whatever way you can. Carolyn, sounds like you are having a nice time, and like you, I don't like to drive where I don't know where I am going and then having a vehicle you are not use to, doesn't help matters either. IC, slow and steady wins the race. Hope you can enjoy some fresh air later. I have been busy making phone calls and messaging for the funeral lunch and I have most of what I need, but waiting on a couple of call backs.
