Good morning! The sun is coming up and it is to be a sunny 86* today. There is a "mystery tour" for the book club today, one of the members has planned it~I've got to text her and make sure I RSVP-ed to it. I'll wait to do that for a bit. The flooring is done, we should be able to move furniture back on to it today. I'll finish the pickles later too, so it'll be a make a list and check it twice kind of day. Somewhere along the line I need to touch base with my brother too. BBL, blessed be everyone.

Good Morning....
A very dreary start to the day with high humidity. You could cut the air with a knife right now. Going to get very warm today and the sun should come out later. I did sit out there with my coffee and it felt misty but wasn't really doing anything. Just the heavy moist air.
I posted kinda late yesterday...so if anyone wants to know what I've been up to on Tuesday, you can check back. It was a crazy day.
Going to see DMIL in a bit. I don't plan to stay long. DH said she had a much better day yesterday after the dr changed her antibiotic that was making her sick to her stomach. She was able to, finally, eat something. Hoping she is doing even better today. Never know what one day will bring.
Had a strong thunder storm roll through yesterday afternoon. Broke some of my flowers in pots and really drenched everything. Should be good on watering for a while.
Have a great day everyone......

Good morning to all. Hot and humid already, I was really "glistening" after my walk. It's to be 100 today--and tomorrow. The heat must be messing with everything as I always listen to my home radio station through my earbuds while I walk and I couldn't connect to it this morning and the TV gave us lots of trouble this morning. Mike says he doesn't like smart TVs--e doesn't think they are very smart--LOL.
CJ, what a day you had yesterday! Have you checked on your mom yet this morning? Hope she continues to do well. I sure can relate about your DMIL, most antibiotics seemed to make my mom worse instead of better. As she aged, it became much more difficult to find one she could tolerate. Rest up today!
Good morning, Laurie! How do you like the floors now that they have been replaced? Did you go back with the same thing or did you choose something different? Enjoy the mystery trip; that sounds like fun!
No big plans for the day. I have two thick pork chops out to thaw and will pair those with fresh corn and Jane's cucumber/onion pasta salad. We had a repeat of Tuesday night's supper last night and there is enough chicken salad left for me to have some for lunch and to pack a nice container of it for Mike's lunch tomorrow. The corn is Mike's choice--he's been working at the edge of a big corn field (and doing his best to make sure the welder's don't catch it on fire!) and he brought home four big ears of the field corn. He loves field corn! I cooked it for quite a while, but it doesn't get tender, added some butter, cream, sugar, salt and pepper and he had a bowl of it last night for his evening snack and proclaimed it very good. I much prefer sweet corn myself.
Need to think of something for dessert, although not really as we have two kinds of cookies I picked up from the day old rack at the grocery store's bakery. I sure am cutting back on the cooking lately! I do want to make a couple of desserts ahead to have when the boys are here next week.
Now that my cereal with strawberries and biscuit with jelly and cup of coffee are done, it is time to do my hair and get on with my day. Love to all, stay cool!

LAURIE Progress made with the floor being laid. Enjoy the book club adventure today.
CJ I did read your post last night and wow! what a day you had. I hope both mothers will get better soon. It's a hard time for both families. Hugs!
DEBBIE Not having a lot planned in all the heat and humidity is a smart thing. We do still need to eat though. Do you think the restaurants will be busy? LOL I feel for your DH and others who are working in all this heat and humidity. Way too hot but it must be done. My SIL works in the kitchen at Spanglers Candy Company and it is so hot. They can't have a/c because it would mess up the candy.
I have company coming later this a.m. and we're going out for lunch. Other than that, not much else going on. My lawn will probably get mowed later today too.
We had rain and wind last night. We missed any big storms but the rain came down quite hard. Like many of you, it's hot and humid here. I also posted late last night. I think it was after CJ posted.
Good morning to all Grannies, wishing you a safe, healthy and wonderful day.

Good morning grannies it's a hazy morning giving way to sunshine H&H with the temp going to low 90s this afternoon. The stormy weather for last night by passed us and that's ok since we have has so much rain. A bad time for the AC to be on the working part time mode. Seems to be the thermostat needs to be replaced and the new one should be here tomorrow. The AC is working it just has to be turned on and off manually. None of us will be suffering too much from the heat. Chef has turned into a good handy man with all the technical things. Lots of information on the computer and he seems to be able to find the solution and do the repair. Just recently it was a pc on the fridge. A part of the ice maker was broken and he was able to order the part and install it now there is ice again! Saves a lot of $$$ to avoid the service call.
Laurie, the mystery trip sounds like it could be a fun time. Hope it's something you enjoy. Floors must be looking good today! What a royal pain in the... to need them redone .
CJ good the hear that MIL is doing better the right antibiotic should have her back to normal soon. Is your dm ok after her problem with heat and dehydration?
Debbie I vote with your dh I don't like any of these tech things that think they are so smart!! What desserts will you be making for the boys. Will lots of cookies be included? I'm so old I remember when we only had field corn to eat. Tonight we will be having sweet corn on the table along with 5 more kids. We have them here every Thrus. Chef is teaching the older one some cooking she is 20 and does a lot of the cooking at home. This gives mom and dad a little time alone. This is the family that adopted a of kids with special needs. How thankful we should be to have normal healthy and happy kids.
Yesterday was busy with bible study and dentist but the bill was the only painful thing about the day. Hard to believe how prices of everything have increased!
This is a take it easy day for me and I need to get started on it!

I just couldn't resist. lol But y'all have way more humidity than we do. Although our dew point is at an oppressive 64. Which is really high for us. Humidity is at 34%, again high for us
Sending some things back to Amazon that just won't work as I had hoped they would. So I'll save some money. A load of laundry in the dryer and some on my lines. My hummer is never happy when I am using "his" parking space. I still need to take down the gray curtains in here and wash the windows so they are ready for the new pink curtains that come today. The windows are due for a good cleaning too.
CJ, I read about your turmoil yesterday and said a quick prayer for y'all. I'm so glad that DMI is feeling better with the change of meds.
Last night I got a frantic text from a friend in the Phoenix area. So many bad storms rolling in one after another. I've not heard from her as of this morning. But will try again in a bit.
Elle, enjoy your lunch with friends today.
Debbie, I would be lost with out my smart SmartTv. You do have to learn how to use them. But it doesn't take long. Thanks, now I want a pork chop. Guess I'll be using the air fryer ovens griddle pan on the porch for my lunch today. I only eat pork as ham, bacon, or "grilled" pork chops.
Gotta get moving.....ttfn

Good Morning Ladies - - - Slept rather well last night - and this early morning - Up once to the LGR and right back for more snoozes - I see no reason to get up at 5. I've had breakfast, cinnamon roll and coffee and have even finished my second cup - - Could use another one, but I think I should call it good at 2. My cup is a stainless steel travel one, but it seems to be leaking a little bit, so guess I need to get rid of it and back to something else. Doesn't leak enough to leave a puddle, just enough to make a mess and a little ring. It's 85 already - I will look on line to see what's in the mailbox, and if not important, I won't go out to get it. I miss my neighbors bring it to me. Yesterday I got a package delievered by UP'S and had the garage door open, so he brought it right up to the door into the house. I just left it out there, as I plan to put it in a garbage and leave it out in the garage as it's an early Christmas present, so it will be out of the way out there. I had a 40% off last Sat. and Sun. so I went back the the list I saved from last year and this was out of stock at the time. 40% plus Kohls Cash made it a good deal, as it was already on sale. Laurie, have a good time on the outing tonight. Should be fun to see where you end up. CJ, what a day for you - - One hardly knows which Mom you need to be with - good thing that you were both able to take care of your own for the day. Hope today finds them both doing much better. IC, so what if your floors aren't dusted today - things wait, and that's just fine - take care of yourself in the heat. Debbie, I feel for Mike - I remember how it was for DH working in the sun and heat all day. Have you ever tried the other cucumber salad I posted. I really like that one also, but haven't made it for awhile. That one ended up being in one of the cafe's here in town for a few years, until it was sold and different people have it now. Bet the boys would be good with your chocolate pudding when they are here. I'm sure it will be a lot different feeding them than when the girls were there. These are growing boys with big appetites. Ellie, how fun to go out with your company - I'm sure you will both enjoy both lunch and the visit Grammy, how wonderful that you are finally getting a handyman at your house. It's nice of your family to give the other parents a break and nice for the kids to have a little time without the parents as well. Hope the cooking lessons go well too. Carolyn, glad you are enjoying your visit. I think you should also plan to spend a long visit there in the winter and avoid the cold & snow & ice! Mamma, hope you get your return done early and you can be back in the AC as soon as possible. I have little planned for the day except to unload the dishwasher, do up some hand wash dishes, and clean up the kitchen a bit - I also have a lb. of burger in the frig thawing - it's been there for 2 days now, so good to go. Last night I didn't feel like cooking so called and picked up a tenderloin and FF. Not something I do often, but it worked good for last night. I ate the FF and half the sandwich and have the other half in the frig. This place won the best tenderloin in Iowa last year and they are good. They aren't the biggest as some you see on FB, but they are thicker and I like that better. Some of them are pounded so thing to get that size, you don't taste much other than the breading. I am more of a burger person, but once in a while, they just plain taste good. Well, hope I didn't miss anyone, hope you all have a wonderful afternoon and keep cool.

Drat, the curtains didn't show up with the mail today. So here I sit in a room that looks like hurricane Cindy has been here. I washed the windows, sills etc and man were they dirty. The wind storms really push the dirt through every little nook and cranny. I so wish the windows were double pane. But it cost $5000 per window to change. No can do that. I hate messes and clutter so this room is really driving me crazy. No cards being made today and not much computer time either. I just can't handle messes for too long.
I just finished a Cindy made caramel iced latte'. It really hit the spot after taking Mandy out in the awful weather. The grilled pork chop made for a good lunch. I also had mashed potatoes, and carrots. Now supper will be something small.
Enjoy your evening everyone.
