I'm opening today. I slept through the nasty storms during the night. Not doing much today. I was thinking of making a chocolate or peanut butter pie today. Weekends I do cleaning. I'll be cooking again tomorrow. Have some zucchini to cook again. Christina got me another eggplant yesterday. I'll fry that up. I'll be eating them all summer. I love eggplant.

Good Morning....
We had showers/storms go through yesterday afternoon. It really blew and rained. Today it's much cooler and sunny.
The kids are here today...so lots of playing will be happening. We'll have them for a little bit on Saturday too.
Icook....I've never liked eggplant. I had it one time and maybe it was the way it was prepared, but couldn't eat it. Didn't like the taste.
Have a great day everyone.....

Good morning. As soon as my coffee is done I'll be heading to the UPS to return some items to Amazon. I also plan to stop at the 99cent store and snoop for nothing unless they have some good fruit and veggies.
After my jaunt I have sheets to change and let loose my new Robovac, Annie. I'm so counting on it doing a much better job than the one I have now. Yesterday it got stuck in a corner for 7 minutes, I finally picked it up and moved it. I really think they forgot to put in the brainbox when it was assembled. Geesh.
This afternoon I hope to get some more cards done. The price that I think I'll ask for is $2.00 or $2.25 a card. My friend Dawn thinks I should charge $3.50. But I know the kind of people that come here for the winter and they want everything for free and they have more money than they know what to do with. At least in this park. Isn't that the way it is?
IC, you are always baking or cooking something. Do you share a lot with Mrs. Claus and Christina? Or do you freeze some? I can't imagine eating all that before it spoils, and I can eat a lot. LOL
Record breaking temps again today. Oh how I wish I didn't have to leave the house with Mandy in the afternoons.

Good Morning Ladies - once again, we are having a lovely morning. It's 74 and sunny so will be much warmer this afternoon, but for now, I will enjoy! It was 5 before I got home last night, and I stopped at my sisters and and picked up a head of cabbage she said she would have for me. I love cooked cabbage. Se wasn't home, so didn't spend a lot of time there. As usual, we had a nice visit.. I thought it must be ladies day there as we were the first ones there for the lunch crowd, then came a table of 3 ladies and after that 2 gals having lunch together. After that, it was some guys and families. I had a taco salad, but it just wasn't up to their usual standard of things. One of the gals had a breaded chicken salad and that looked much better this time, but the taco is usually just as good. It was okay, just not very special. IC, I think the only way I have eaten eggplant is scalloped and I liked that a lot, but not sure I would like it just fried. It reminded me of stuffing. CJ, have fun with the littles again - I'm sure they will keep you on your toes. No rain here again. Mamma, I guess with you knowing the audience you are going to be trying to sell too, what you charge will be based on if you want to price lower and sell more, or get more for each card and sell fewer. Although you never know about John Q Public - - I will say that your cards are very attractive and you do a very nice job with them. Keep cool. Not much on my schedule for the day - I think I will put in a small grocery order, just so I can get a can of peas and make the mac and tuna salad that I had planned for last weekend - would like to make it while my celery is still good - after I make that, I will chop and put in the freezer. I may make the cabbage patch stew today or sometime over the weekend. I can always put that in the freezer if I don't want to eat it next week when it's going to get much warmer. Hope everyone has a good day.

Goodmorning grannies, it's much cooler today. The temp is only72 now! A big change from the last few days. The weather prediction for all the bad stuff didn't happen yesterday. A tornado warning but none on the ground other than than it was just a thunder storm with some strong wind and rain.
IC sounds like you will be cooking up some good things for a few meals. Good idea to do more than one meal while you are cooking. I like eggplant and Z. It's hard to find something I don't like. We had so little variety of things on the table when I was growing up I wanted to try it all and found that I like it all! Well just about all of it.
CJ fun time with the dgc today! Maybe you should give eggplant another chance. Eggplant parmesan is a popular dish for this family! Enjoy the little ones today they grow up too soon!
Mamma I did take a look at your cards and thought they were beautiful! Hope you can sell lots of them. Could you price them so much per card and a different price if they purchase 5 or more/or whatever number you decide on. I'm sure you know what I'm trying to say I just don't know how to word it!
Greenback sounds like you had a nice time with friends even if the food didn't taste quite as good. Yumm for the cabbage! We like it with carrots, potatoes and smoked sausage with corn bread on the side. I know you don't care for the cornbread just eat the other stuff and I will have an extra pc of cornbread
I have been up and busy this morning starting with changing the sheets. On to clean the shower mat. It did need a little brush work. Got the humming bird feeder cleaned and refilled. Also a phone chat with a long time friend, friends for60 years or more! We're both 90. DD and I will be going to a funeral visitation in her town and hope to stop and see her. The girl who who was our neighbor lost her dh and she does stay in touch with us.

Good morning to all. Like some of you, it is much cooler, and, even better yet, much less humid here today. That will change next week with nearly every day to be near 100! I'm waiting on maintenance to get here to check out a drip in the utility closet and to bring me two new vertical slats for our sliding door. I hate those things, we've had them at other apartments, and they are a pain in the butt. But, I talked to the maintenance man who was changing out the dog poop containers along my walking path around the lake this morning and he told me they have lots of them on hand and will replace them with no problem. By the way, I don't think I told you how amazed my country grandgirls were that people here picked up their dogs' poop and have a special place for it--LOL! Their farm dogs just go in the field and the one in-house dog, gets led out and does his business without it being picked up by them!
We hoped to be able to go home tonight, as the job has reached an impasse until Monday, but one of the two contractors has decided they will work tomorrow, regardless! Boo! Our niece has a graduation party that has been delayed once already scheduled for tomorrow afternoon and Mike's Aunt Nondes passed away this week and her visitation and funeral are scheduled for Sunday in West Plains, MO, which is about a 3+ hour drive south from home and then we will be driving all the way back to IL after the services, so Saturday off would be very welcome. And, DBIL and Mike got the hay baled last weekend and we are giving our part to DD and DSIL#2 for their cattle, and DSIL would like to get it tomorrow morning. And, we'd like to get it off the field!
We sure have enjoyed our cold suppers the last two nights of pasta salad, broccoli slaw, and chicken salad and crackers. And, we cut into the sour cream lemon pie last night and it was mighty good, if I do say so myself. DH liked it even though he is not a big lemon fan, he said it was refreshing.
IC, I would be glad to QC either a chocolate or peanut butter pie! I don't care for eggplant; but, to be fair, it's not something we ever had growing up or that has been put before me since!
CJ, enjoy Penny and Teddy today and tomorrow.
Mama, is your pool open yet? You make some nice cards!
Jane, a taco salad sounds good and so does the breaded chicken salad. You may have inspired me with ideas for dinner next week!
Grammy, I love the idea of the sausage, cabbage, potatoes and veggies -- and we LOVE cornbread, especially made in an iron skillet! Another inspiration for next week's supper!
Happy birthday to Laurie's dad!
Maintenance was just here and fixed up all the issues here in the apartment so that is good. I'm getting hungry, but it's not yet lunch time, so will just tough it out at least until 11:30.
Wishing all a wonderful weekend!

Good morning, #1 was here over night so we had a good visit. I've got a load of laundry on the line and a load of odds and ends in the washer now, they'll go out too as soon as they are done. The yeti invited his parents and neighbor over for dinner tonight. I'm not feeling very social today, wish he'd postponed. I talked to my brother today, he's on his way in to see Dad. It'll be a few days before I go up again, I'm just tired and feeling kind of funky.
As soon as I get off of here I need to return a call that I missed while talking to my brother, probably better get to it. It's a pretty day, to be 79* and it's clear out. Blessed be.

Wow, I scored well at the 99¢ store. Cantaloupe, cauliflower and strawberries (2 lbs) for 99¢ each. And a jar or Miracle whip for only $1.99!!!! At the cashier there was a Venus fly trap I just had to have. I know I'll end up killing it in a month, but having one as a kid I just had to have another one. LOL A super fun clerk so I and a couple others had a grand time checking out. I love to make the clerks smile and add some fun to their day. They have to put up with some real crackpots.
Now to strip the bed and get Annie to clean the floors.
Grammy, I know what you mean and that is a good idea. That could increase sales. Now what to charge per card. I'm still thinking on that.
CJ, enjoy your time with the kiddos today. I hope the weather allows much outside time and good naps.
Jane, I envy you and all that you do with friends. I'm hoping to get more involved come winter. OH nuts, I should have grabbed a cabbage. I too like cooked cabbage. Mark hated the smell. LOL

Forgot to ask....my Mom gave Amelia (who will be 7 on August 2, which was also Mom's birthday) a locket last year that was my Great Aunt Alice's. Aunt Alice got it when she was a young girl, so it is about 100 years old. It is a tiny round gold locket with the letter "A" in script on it. Amelia would like to have both her picture and Aunt Alice's inside the locket. I've looked around a bit online, but do any of the grannies know the best way to get a picture of Amelia and one of Aunt Alice sized down to fit into a tiny little locket? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Debbie, I used to do a lot with the photo program on my computer, can't even think of it's name now? Pictures could be resized you might look at the programs and try them to see how small you could resize to. Photo is scanned into the computer program and resized there then print. Hope this was a little help.

Back again -- Got my grocery order in so can go get it at 2:30. I could make the mac salad and just add the peas when I get them. Grammy, I would really like that meal, all but the corn bread, but you already knew that. Sorry that you lost another friend. I see another of my classmates passed away - so many of them have. Mamma, you going to the 99 cent store reminded me of what happened here yesterday. The town where I graduated and went through yesterday on my way to lunch, has been really cracking down on the drug traffic in the town. Yesterday, they went with search warrant's to the Dollar Tree/Family Dollar store and closed it down, made 3 arrests, including the manager and it was said to be a major drug hub. They also searched 2 cars in the lot, assuming the employee's. This was the 20 search warrant issued in about a week. I guess they arrest them, and then the judicial system lets them right back out again and the beat go's on and on. That is the very store, the combination of the 2, that is either just opened or soon will be here in town, so hope it doesn't cast a dark shadow. The gals yesterday that live down that way said most of the employee's in that store were very scary looking! Debbie, love that Grandma left that special locket to her BD girl, and even more special that the initial is perfect. I guess I don't have any suggestions for the pictures, unless you have a compute store that could make a copy and then shrink it. So special. I hope you get home for DH's aunt's funeral. Laurie, I think that it is very rude of the Yeti to invite company before checking with you. Probably isn't going to change though, as long as he cooks and gets the meal ready, but still work for you.

Asking for prayers for DMIL. DH went to take her lunch up to her and she had been throwing up and was very incoherent. He called his brother and they called 911 after assessing her condition. They are at the hospital now.
Mamma...your cards are really nice. I think $3 is about right (probably worth more) for the people in your place. You could also make a package of assorted cards for a price....maybe 3-5 cards in a group....birthday/anniversary in one and assorted get well, sympathy, thinking of you, congrats in another pack. That might go over good. I enjoy seeing what you are making.
Grammy...I think it was egg plant parmesan I had one time that I didn't like.
Penny is calling me.....and Teddy is still napping......

Jane, it's been awhile since I've been in either the $Tree or Dollar General, but now I'll be thinking of what you said when I do go there. Yikes.
Thanks CJ. That is the kind of package I have for the three closest friends here in the park. I'll use the idea for the sales too. I never gave that a thought.
Debbie, our pool finally opened last night. Now I'm busy and have lost interest. I guess it was more fun going with Mark, just like a lot of things. Thanks for the compliment on my cards.
Grammy, big hugs to you.
Wow Annie, did a great job on the floors. She actually went over them twice, one time north and south and the other time east and west. Amazing. And the best part is that I didn't have to babysit either. But I did watch this time to see how it would work. So very happy.
PS, I really like corn bread and totally dislike anything eggplant. UGH!
