Good morning all. It's a cool morning here as it rained last night and is a bit breezy right now. Mrs. Brown Kravitz has been out and now The Amazing Nimster and the Nugget are out, I hope they are inspecting the excavation that they did in my flower bed by the garage door. I had put some Snow on the Mountain, some kind of plant that ends in Wort, and a couple of other things. Well, they are gone now, I'd just brought them from the other place. I can get more of each, but they know better! I got home about 7:00 last night and am only leaving today to go to book club. We are to bring something to share, often they are some kind of potluck. Today we are to bring something that has a family tradition attached. My family wasn't the best at that, but if I get to it, I will make some cookies from a recipe that my mom's best friend shared with me in a shower gift when we got married. If not, I'll punt and take pickles from Todd's grandma's recipe. Situation the same at the NHome, I heard from him that someone is coming to visit today, so I won't be there. I've got to go there next Tuesday, may get there another time this week, we'll see. I'm going to finish my coffee and look for my ever elusive ambition. I'd like to take a nap, that may happen too. Blessed be everyone.

Good Morning....
It's somewhat sunny right now. We had thunder showers last night which watered everything really good again. Might get more rain this evening.
I've had my coffee on the swing, watched the chipmunks and birds and kinda cleaned out and pruned my wave petunias. They were getting very leggy. I've read to cut them back so they can "start again" with new shoots. Hope it works. I guess it's kinda like having the deer eat them down so they can start over...LOL Just hope it's not too late in the season for it.
Have a couple things on my "to do" list that I want to get done today. Thinking I'll make ribs for supper...just need to get them out of the freezer so they are ready when I want them in the oven.
Lauriet...always something going on with the pups at your house. Maybe they didn't think those plants should be in that spot LOL.
Debbie...looks like you have a fun time with the grand girls. I'm tired just reading all you did but you are making so many memories for them. Wish I had your energy.
DH is on a bike ride...so I can get some things done while he's out of the house. I work better when he's not in my way.
Have a great day everyone......

Good morning grannies, where is the sun hiding? It was a beautiful morning now there are clouds and the forecast says maybe some rain starting in about 2 hours. More rain for tomorrow and it hasn't dried from the last rain! Everything is green and growing but the weeds are doing the best!
DGD brought a few things from the garden, yesterday, saying first harvest. A yellow summer squash, some purple hot peppers and some nice cherry tomatoes along with a couple of bigger tomatoes. It won't be long till we can have tomato pie! If you haven't tried it, its a winner! I made the first one about 5 years ago now dgd makes them even better. It's not made with the usual pie crust sort of a biscuit type dough. So good!
Laurie, what naughty dogs to dig up your flowers! Hope that doesn't happen to the next ones! You do keep busy!
bible Study this morning and the last time for rehab this afternoon! Yea! I'm ready for the graduation party! Maybe I'll just treat all the grannies to a root beer float! I'll even wear the new Tshirt I get !
Time to get myself ready to go out the door.

Good morning ladies. We are blessed this morning with clouds. It's already hot enough, I don't want the sun. If it would stay cloudy all day I'ld be happy. The next several weeks are in the danger zone so our outside will be even more limited. But I'm not much of an outside person anyway.
Ironing to do this morning and a small WM order will be delivered. Nothing else planned other than daily duties.
As usual I've no idea what my meals will be until later, like right before I'm hungry. hehehe
Most of yesterday I read the blog I started when we set out on our full time RV life. It was bittersweet remembering and reflecting. I could almost see and hear Mark in the posts that he wrote. It all started in 2016 and I've continued writing. Today I hope to finish reading up to and including 2019. Oh the memories. There is more than one blog site leading up to yesterdays addition.

The sun is shining now but it was raining and cloudy when I got up. The temp will be in the mid to upper 80's. Yesterday was Bible study then I started cutting my fabric for the kitchen valances. I haven't sewn for nearly 8 years and it's feeling so good again. So what's to come with that? who knows!! But first I need to finish the valances and get them hung. It takes more time to measure and cut than it does to sew. Today is coffee day at the Cabin, tomorrow will be game day. Friday I take my vehicle in to have the Driver safety assist checked out. The light came on to tell me about that last week but hasn't come on since. I'm hoping it's just a fluke or a reset issue.
LAURIE I hope your day goes well and you can relax.
CJ As destructive as the critters can be, they're fun to watch. I have a couple of chipmunks. And last night when I was watering my plant in the front of the house, a rabbit sprung out! Surprise! I did react. LOL
ICOOK Here's to a great report from your cardiologist. Is this a follow up? I hope you're not having other issues. I have an appointment with my local Dr. next week and the week after is the dentist. I had blood work done Monday. It does seem like there's always an appointment.
GRAMMY Let us celebrate your graduation part with you!! Good job! you deserve a party. I'll bring a cake with tons of frosting. (ignore all the diet rules.LOL) Get your cool whip bowl ready. I think the other grannies might contribute to the menu too!!!
MAMMA I enjoy going through the memories I have too. The tears come but most of the time, it's the loving relationship that I miss so much that allows my tears. Like you, I still don't know what I want to eat and so many times it the same thing...Oh well, at least I have food. LOL Stay cool today. You have learned to manage the heat!

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's a cool 64 and a nice gentle rain coming down - - it looks like it could be one of those all day rains, and that sure would be wonderful if it can. I guess it took us doing the new roof to bring on the rain. They got a lot done yesterday but didn't finish. They were here until 5:30 and then there was a knock on my door and he asked if they could bring my car and put it in the garage for me, as there was stuff on it when I came home, and I parked on the street, even though they offered to move it. I said no, I would put it in later. I was happy to have them do it. He seemed like a nice, polite guy. MY morning has been busy - I didn't get up all that early, as it felt good in bed with it being dark and gloomy. First I called to get some money transferred to the right place so I can pay they guys finish. Then it was another call to the PO. On June 17, I ordered 3 books of stamps before the price increase, and never got them. I called last week and they didn't know - - - - Yesterday, I got 2 books, the envelope I had the order in ended up in Kansas City. Now, mind you, I took an envelope out of their book, crossed out the address, and wrote our town PO on it, attention my carrier! So, he never pulled it and added it to the outgoing mail - surprised that it would go anywhere like it was, but then when I opened the envelope, I had 2 books of stamps and a 1.55 handling fee, so there was not enough money for the 3rd book. They cashed the check, but I got no refund. Locally they have never charged a handling fee, and when I talked to her today, she wasn't aware there was one. The biggest question is what happened to the rest of my money? I really don't feel a tip of that size was necessary on such crappy service. And we wonder why the PO is in trouble!!! Now Culligan has been here too, so guess the day's activity should be about done. Maybe I will spend the afternoon reading the paper after the mail comes. Laurie, my experience with Snow on the Mountain is that it might be a good thing to have they dug out by the pups. I had it and it really became a problem - there was no stopping it and took forever to get rid of it. CJ, Mark sure is a fit guy with all of the exercise he gets. I could never get much done with DH around either, as I was so use to him being gone so much for work. IC, good luck with tomorrows appointment. Grammy, I know how much you enjoy that tomato pie - for some reason it just doesn't sound that good to me, so will take your word for it. I wonder how it reheats, as a pie would be way to much for me. Congratulations on your graduation! That's just wonderful. Mamma, I know how those time are bittersweet, but they are also nice to stop and remember all of those special times, even if they do bring a few tears. Glad you got some clouds to start the day. Debbie, I hope you have had a couple of days to rest after all of the action with the girls and then the reunion.

Ellie, looks like we were trying to squeeze through the door again. You have a busy week, but I always think that's a good thing. Has it really been 8 years since you were busy sewing all of those purses? I can't always believe how fast the time does pass. That's the reason I like to make things that create leftovers when I cook, because if I don't have something waiting, I never know what I want, and am tempted to end up with junk! What a nice rain we are having.

GREENBACK I see on f/book the special prices on books of stamps. My DS ordered from them, had no problem so decided to order again. That time, she never did get them and they got her $$$$. We need an organization of some sort that will help us decide what we want to eat, right? LOL I wouldn't qualify for sure. Enjoy the rain!

About bottle water in the freezer. I had one in there and did it ever come in handy. I hurt my toe (may be broken) on the corner of wall. Oh my gosh. So much pain. I wrapped the bottle in a towel and put it under my toes and a flatter ice bag on top. I stuck another bottle in the freezer. Just in case. At 1:30 this morning I could not walk with out help ( old reliable wheelchair ). When the baby was coming I managed to walk and unlock the door. Wouldn't miss his visit for the world. So maybe I will be ok. Maybe I am on the mend. Had some breakfast. Scrambled eggs with a little cheese and 4 oz. of watermelon. Of course, coffee. Our weather stays nice until afternoon it gets hot. But that won't last. Aug.n Sept.are usually our hottest months. Dr appt. Was ok. She asked me about having knee replacement And I told her I am planning to go to a ortho in Fl. She agreed it is a good idea. My toe looks bad but I think I will be ok. I hope so anyway. I got Jimmy Dean bacon for 2.99 a package. I bought 4. Talk later. )

Greenback...I will attest to that pie. It is delicious! And when I have made it, we have left overs that reheat just fine. I think if you tried it once, you would like it. When I first heard "tomato pie" I thought ICK. LOL
Grammy....sure wish my garden was producing but I'll have to wait a bit longer...although I did see some grape tomatoes ready to pick.
Icook...hope the dr appts go well.
Mamma...I bet reading those blogs stirs up lots of emotions. That was an adventerous time for you & DH with lots of memories.
Elle....I bet the valances will look great. I sometimes think I should make some new ones, but then quickly talk myself out of it.
I moved some plants from one bed to another. Hope they take to their new home. I had them there once and moved them out...now I'm putting them back..LOL I'll have to keep a close eye on them as the deer like to walk along there and nibble.
Babyback Ribs for supper....I'll need to get them in the oven pretty soon.
I think I hear my swing calling me.......

Carolyn....OUCH....hope it's not broken...although nothing can be done for it except giving it time to heal on it's own. Glad you got your visit in with the little guy.

Carolyn I do hope your pain on your toe gets better. I broke a toe once. Went to the hospital for an X-ray. They just taped two toes together & told me to wear good shoes till it healed.
Elle Just a check up tomorrow. Cardiologist wants to see me two times a year. Got a good report from the nurse practitioner when I went to the heart surgeon.

Good hot and humid Illinois afternoon to all. ThI still won't get any rain. It is nearly 100 degrees in both locations. If we don't get rain at home, I don't think there will be any hay or crops, unless the crops are irrigated and that doesn't happen much except in the Bootheel (SE Missouri). Even shipping on the rivers is being impacted. DD#1 and family are at the beach in Pensacola, FL, and they are having two big rainstorms each day since they've been there! Doesn't seem fair!
Due to the heat, I walked a bit earlier than usual this morning, then went to the grocery store, mailed a letter at the PO, and returned a library book. I have one more that is due Saturday that I haven't started yet, and I've renewed it the maximum number of times. A rainy day would be a good day to read that book! By the time I do my morning walk, do morning chores, walk laps in the pool in the afternoon, then make supper and chat with Mike after he gets home, a lot of my reading time is gone. I'm also way behind on my daily Bible reading and trying to get caught up with that.
Tonight's supper will be cheeseburger quesadillas along with chips and salsa. I've made the "sauce" already and just have to brown the hamburger, etc., later.
Mama, I heard them talking about the Arizona heat on TV this morning. How can your park justify not having their pool in working order at this time of year?
Laurie, naughty pups, but I know they have been forgiven by now. Did you make the cookies or take pickles? Tell me more about the cookie recipe, please! It was a big ol' groundhog that dug up the flower I had planted that I brought home from the hospital when Mom passed. DH took care of that 'hog!
CJ, I cut my mums back each year, prior to July 4 is the rule of thumb of when they can be cut back. They were already budding big time and starting to bloom, so I chopped them back what I thought was a severe haircut. Well, would you believe they are budding/blooming again already. It certainly hasn't been mum weather at home, so not sure what the deal is this summer. Too late to cut them back now, so they will just have to bloom now and I will be out of luck with my usually beautiful mums this fall when they are supposed to bloom.
Congratulations to GrammyOH, rehab class of '23! I bet you placed top of your class! Please send some of your rain our way! Yummy on the fresh veggies!
Elle, I bet sewing for you is just like riding a bike--you never unlearn it and get back in the hang of it quickly. Maybe you can share a picture of the new valances when you have them up.
Jane, isn't incompetence and lack of concern so frustrating! That's a government agency for you! I mailed a revised form to Farm Bureau from here two days ago, only to find out that it didn't go out, I didn't realize there was a slot for "office" and one for "mail". I thought I put it in the mail slot, but it fell into the office slot, and they didn't bother to put it in the mail slot for me! Geesh! I think I have recovered from our girls' visit, but I admit I was a tired grannie and am enjoying my quiet routine once again.
Carolyn, hope your toe continues to improve--OUCH indeed! I bet it will turn all sorts of pretty colors! Glad you still got to visit with your baby Elijah.
IC Cook, hoping for a good cardiology checkup for you.
The pool is calling my name. Sure is hard putting sunscreen on my own back! Wishing all a good day.

Well, the rain quit about lunch time, but what we did get came down so nice. The roofers were back at it by 2:15. I had been reading the paper, and felt the need to close my eyes, just as the noise started - - can you hear them?
