Good morning grannies, it's getting ready to rain again! The rain missed us yesterday but today it's looks like it will happen. A chilly 74 this late in the morning means long pants and long sleeves for me today.
My cleaning lady is going to be a bit late this morning so I will have time to post this before she gets here. She is a real sleepy head this morning. I was just informed that she was in the shower and will be here later. Kids like Kathy require lots more sleep. She has been in bed since 7 last night! I think today's work will be focused on using the vacuum the right way. She needs some help in learning this. Not just a quick run but how to clean it all. She does a great with the bathroom floor and the dusting. Must be time to learn the proper way to do something else.
Two more young goats arrived yesterday. Now we have 3 that dgd hopes to milk later. I don't know when she will find time to do that job. She should have married a farmer as she likes all the farm work and animals.
That's about it for my plans for this day other than Kindle time

Good Morning....
It's gray and humid out there. No sun today. It will rain this afternoon so I, hopefully, won't have to water all my plants/flowers.
DH is on a bike ride and I went to the Dollar Tree for a baby shower gift bag and card. Tomorrow is my good friend's daughter's baby shower. This is the friend who winters in AZ and her daughter/DSIL live there.
Yesterday the kids got to see the cement truck come and dump cement. It was a long process, so we didn't stay for the whole thing. And Pennys best friend from school, whose mom grew up next door to us and is best friends with DD, came to visit her grandma....so Penny and Audrey got to play for a long time. Penny was so happy and excited.
I have laundry going and will spend some time on the swing before the rain comes.
Grammy....I saw the pics on FB of the new goats. What kind of dog is it that they have? It looks a lot like my DS's girlfriends dog which is a Great Pyrenees (a herding dog).
Have a great day everyone......

Good morning. Hot and sunny and getting hotter every day again. By Monday will be in an extreme heat advisory again. Sunday will still be tolerable so I will go "in" to church but will be staying inside as much as possible the rest of the next two weeks.
Grammy, I think goats are cute, but oh my what an oder they have. There are days I wish I had a cleaning lady too. Lucky you.
CJ, sounds like yesterday was a win win for all of you.
Sheets are about done in the washer and will go in the dryer today. I'm thinking I need to turn the mattress again. They surely don't make mattresses like they used to. Or is it just my weight? One may never know. hehehe I need to do some cleaning today as well. Even though we don't come and go much, the house sure gets dirty quickly. Or else I just forget to clean each week.

Good Morning Ladies - - - Not much happening here yet, and I highly doubt that it will change during the day. It's sunny and a beautiful day. I went through Hardee's last night and got the chicken strips, as I wasn't in the mood to make anything, mostly because I didn't know what I wanted. It had been a long time since I have been there. I don't like going there, but once in awhile, it works. Now to see what happens for tonight. I don't want to get groceries today, and I might have 22 slices of bread, or maybe not. I can get that when I go to KS on my way home from church tomorrow. Grammy, I love how your cleaning lady is more about learning that just cleaning for you. You are providing her with life lessons that will be so important to her as she grows up. I'm sure there are things that she is picking up on that you never even thought about! What a good example to her, (and the other girls) you are extending for her. Don't you wonder what has happened with the other little one that had to go back to that toxic environment? CJ, hope you have a good time at the baby shower. I'm sure it was special for Penny to get to play with her little friend. I remember when they paved the street in front of our house years ago, and all the neighbor kids lined up their lawn chairs and watched the whole process. Mamma, I think there is little danger that you forgot to clean. You seem to be doing that every day. Getting out for church tomorrow will be a nice break from being homebound so much with your heat. I'm sure it will have AC and it will just be the coming and going that you need to be in the heat. Enjoy your weekend.

We had rain overnight and early morning, I'm not sure how much. And it's to rain again today. We're 66*, no sun so a cooler day. I don't need to go any place so I'll finish cleaning and do the laundry. Our town had their fireworks last night. I of course, didn't go. They started at 10:00 and ended about 10:25. People literally put their blankets/chairs in "their spot" before noon to reserve their place. Fireworks don't excite me any more. Besides, I'm in bed around 10:30, so my priority. LOL
GRAMMY I bet the baby goats, "kids" are so cute. Aren't all babies!!! You're doing a great thing training your DGD to clean properly.
CJ From all I can gather from your posts, little Penny would be a very sweet friend and I bet she had a good time yesterday.
MAMMA There's no way I could turn my mattress. It's queen size, heavy and deep. But my arms and body are weak! My DSIL and DD turn mine and it needs it now too. You're right, they don't make them like they used to.
GREENBACK Hardee's is one fast food restaurant that we don't have. We seem to have plenty of others though. I do like fast food occasionally.
Time to think of something to eat and to get some work done.

Having bacon n eggs and coffee. Hope you are feeling well. The sources of most of my pain are: I broke my ankle in 85 and had 2 screws put in. of course I worked and was on my feet for years. In 2017, I had surgery on my toes (nerve tumor) Morton's neuroma. And they removed the screws the same time thinking that would alleviate some pain. Same foot. But it didn't work. The whole foot swells and has a numbness constantly. And my knee has a bakers cyst. Caused from arthritis in the back. So you can tell I am a basket case 😊😊 So thought the low carb eating would help the pain. I am going to continue eating low carb n maybe it will kick in. I do have a dr appt. Tuesday. My grandson will watch my garden whileI am gone to Florida. I only have cucumber plant and one watermelon plant. I have 2 friends in the Tampa area. Mamma, I love your hair style. 🌺

CAROLYN I hope you can/will go on vacation with your family. You're fighting a hard battle and maybe the carb diet will help. And the Dr. visit could give help and relief of the pain for you.

all. Back at the NHome for today and whenever. If I want to I can stay at my sister’s tonight. I went to the farm to drop off some groceries for Al and had a donut, fixed his glasses, and watched an episode of Wagon Train. The Yeti invited his family over today, I told him I wouldn’t be there, not my circus. He’s cranky, who knows why? Gets like this often when around lots of people, King of the Introverts.
I cleaned, cut up, and packaged 22 qts of thubarb yesterday. Had half cleaned and washed and the power went out during the thunderstorm that had rain, thunder and lightning, and a bit of tiny hail. The rest got cut up and washed after we got back when the power was on. I had to put it in the neighbor’s freezer as most of it will go to #1.
That’s about it, Monday is dentist. Tuesday is history center meeting and Wednesday is book club. The yeti’s taxi is going Tuesday and Wednesday. Blessed be everyone.

Heat index is 102* I decided to stay in my ELVIS nightshirt today. No one is coming & I'm not going any where so I might as well be comfortable. Probably stay that way tomorrow too.
Elle I'm doing the dreaded dusting too Don't know if it'll get finished today or tomorrow. Almost done cleaning the hard to reach areas using the long handled duster. I usually go to bed around 11:30 & up around 9 to 9:30 because of my Meals On Wheels delivery I got approved again so I'm not losing that. That is a big help for me getting a hot meal during the week.
Grammy Rain coming here today Maybe around 2 inches. Drought warning is being lifted so that's a good thing.
Mamma Christina helps with turning my mattress.

Elle, my mattress is queen size too. It can't be flipped over just turned end for end and I only do a little at a time. Usually we hear fire crackers or fireworks days after the holiday, but happily not this time. I do like watching fireworks, but don't want to leave home to do so. LOL Yep, I too am in by by 10:15 most nights. Mandy heads to be around 9:30. I guess she doesn't care for my tv programs. hehehe
Jane, I don't really "clean" each day, mostly hit and miss. And more miss than hit. But I do like to have one day where I do a good job. LOL Living in the desert is dirty, there is no way around it. Sand gets tracked in even though no shoes are worn in the house. Mandy can't take off her feet. hehehhe And believe me sand really sticks to those little paws of hers. No carpet in here so everything that is on the floor is felt by my bare feet.
Thanks for the compliment Carolyn. This time it got a bit shorter than I like, but my hair grows pretty fast and in this heat short is a most for me. So sorry to hear of your pain.
Laurie, oh how I would love to have some rhubarb. None down here, it won't grow. I miss it so very much and all that I could make and enjoy with it.

It's raining again. We do have a forecast for a couple of dry day
CJ the dog is a Pyrenees/Burmese Mt mix which produces a large dog! Last evening the dog was barking , nothing we could see, but the sheep and 3 goats headed for the barn. He is a good herder.
Mamma I believe it's the male goat that is the smelly one these are all females. If the barn is cleaned they shouldn't be stinky. Not a problem for me since I don't go there anymore.
Greenback thanks for those kind words. Kathy is making some progress. Today she though she could be a maid. That was a good opportunity to talk about housework being important to your home and doing work for others.
Kathy has been told that Leemah is her half sister and lives with their mom. She has not said much to me about it and she usually talks about this kind of thing with me. She was very sad and cried when she said her dad had died. Looks forward to meeting her mom and seeing Leemah again. Mom is seeing a counselor and doing a little better.

Grammy, was that fairly recent that Kathy's Dad died? I don't remember hearing that or if I did, I forgot. How sad, but maybe the mother will do better without him, and how sad to even think that. I'm sure the older Kathy gets, and understands more, the harder it is for her to realize how disfunctional the family really is. Carolyn, I sure hope you are feeling up to the trip. I have not had the experience but have heard about people that have a wheelchair waiting for them at the airport to transport them to catch another flight or to where ever they need to be. It would be a shame if you had to miss the trip again. Ellie, I kind of feel like you about the fireworks - seen one, seen them all, although I did see some different ones on TV this year. Those I'm sure would not be included in our small town celebrations. You sure have been getting a lot of rain lately. Laurie, glad you could stop to see Al before you went to the NH. Hope things were going okay when you got there. Another busy week for you, but you will get everything covered. IC, may as well be comfortable when you can - I have to admit I didn't hit the shower until 3:30 today. I felt so good afterwards, I wonder why I waited so long. Nice to have the Meals on Wheels. You would hardly need to shop with those. I need to get some things, but didn't feel like doing it today, and now don't know what to have for supper - guess it will be eggs. Mamma, my mattress only go's end for end too, but when I was at the house, it was over, and I could do it there, because I could rest it on the wall and then just pull out from the bottom. Well, the day is about done, and I have very little to show for it again. Guess I am getting lazy in my old age.

I'm working on anniversary cards this afternoon. For Christmas I'm making an assortment of greeting cards for a few of my friends here in the park. Just about done when I remembered anniversary cards. I also need to make a couple more thank you cards. When the Christmas gift bags come out at the $Tree, I'll pick up a couple and use them instead of trying to find boxes and wrap.
Lunch today was a small chef salad and some yogurt. Supper I'm making a pizza on Flat Out and putting in the Power air fryer oven. I can control the calories if I make the pizza myself. The hard part is limiting the cheese. I'm a huge fan of cheese.
After Mandys "outing" and my shower, I may snack on a couple pretzels.
Grammy, you are right, I had forgotten that it's the male goats that smell the worst.
Jane, my bedroom is so small that I have to take the two little side tables completely out of the room, then the room is empty except for the bed, and I often times get trapped between the mattress and a wall. hehehe I love the flippable mattresses but I couldn't find one down here. And now I dont' know if I could flip them alone. But they do last a lot longer.
Back to my cards. Everyone have a wonderful evening.
