Happy 4th of July everyone - - - Going to be another hot one - it's 74 now and heading upward. I may take a drive to my sis's today - she said last night, why don't you come down tomorrow or some day this week and get some berries. she is picking lots of them right now, and if I go today, then I can get them taken care of and enjoy or in the freezer. I will see what happens! Otherwise, not much happening here yet. I've had a roll and coffee and am needing another cup of coffee to get me rolling.

Good morning, it's a beautiful sunny morning but temps are going to be hot today. Thank God for air conditioners! We're having a cookout today. Just 3 of us but we'll enjoy each other and the day! DD and I did some shopping at Marshal's yesterday. I got a new shower liner and I'm hoping DSIL will hang it for me today. He'll be grilling the steaks so it's going to be busy for him. I think there will be time for relaxation too. LOL I need to head to the kitchen.
GREENBACK What berries does your DS have? I remember as a kid, we'd put on long sleeves and head to the woods and pick wild black raspberries. Then mom would make a pie from them. That is making my mouth water. I don't think I've had a raspberry pie since mom made them. I don't care for red raspberries.

Good morning.
No plans for the day other than work on some cards that I've started. I want to make a bundle of cards for Phylis, I'm sure she will appreciate them. Then I'm done with my Christmas gifts. No one to shop for anymore.
It's already hot and as pretty much the norm, it's breezy as well. I just had a thought, I know that's scary. Since most people will be celebrating, the traffic shouldn't be too bad this morning. Maybe Mandy and I can go for a little drive before the big heat rolls in here. Like I said, maybe. hehehe I have errands to run tomorrow so I could wait.
Jane, those fresh berries will taste soooo good. Not like the store bought ones. I hope you go and get a bunch of them to freeze and enjoy.
Elle, yes indeed, thank God for the a/c. I pray every night for mine still working and every morning to keep it running. |

MAMMA A little drive sounds like a good idea. Are you in a scenic area? I know I've seen pictures of AZ with the beautiful flowering dessert etc. I also know (think)you're in the city of Yuma. The cards are so nice and personal that you make.

Good morning grannies, there's sunshine! No rain in the picture today but heat and humidity have replaced the rain.
Nothing special happening here today. DGD and Chef have taken the kids to the parade and then on to the waterpark. They will be gone for the day. DD is doing some grocery shopping while dsil changes some water filters. I have noting much to do other than sit here and watch the grass grow. I do need to use the weed eater around my patio. The rain has really made the grass grow!

GRAMMY My grass is to mowed tomorrow. Yes! thank God for the rain. DSIL will be changeing the water filter under my sink today too. The frig is going to need it soon but I can do that. Enjoy the sunshine.

Little change in plans for the day for me - - Talked to my sister and she hadn't been out to pick berries yet so will go tomorrow. It's too bad I can't help here and pick my own, but we both know that would not work. I'm okay just spending the day at home too. She has rad and purple raspberries. Usually more of the purple ones, but don't know how it's going this year.
I just finished the last of the pulled pork that I had out, and won't have to make anything tonight either as I tried something last night and have some left. It was sliced smoked sausage, potato chunks and frozen green beans. It's okay, but I would just give it a C+, and was hoping for an A.

Another humid day here & will be all week Christina was here & did some cleaning. I still have some dusting to finish that I just do occasionally. We went to the grocery store so I could get some soft items I can eat. I almost took a tumble a while ago. Grabbed the handle on the fridge or I would have been down on the floor. My walker was right next to me. I just turned around & lost my balance. Guess I'll have to hold on to it at all times.
Grammy There was a brief shower right after Christina & I got back from the store. It was a downpour

GREENBACK I usually feel disappointed when I try a new dish and it doesn't meet my expectations. And that happens!! I think I've lost what cooking knack I had. LOL
ICOOK Be careful! You don't need to fall! I'm glad you could grab the frig door and your walker was close to you.

Happy 4th of July.....
Not a whole lot happening here. My mom did come for a lunch meal. It was good and we could sit on the patio and stay cool. There was a nice breeze most the time.
I took her home a bit ago and now I feel hungry...LOL Having a bowl of Coco Wheats and a piece of toast, than out to the swing for a bit.
Hope everyone has had a nice day. The parade sure was a quiet one. Usually I can hear the band and sirens but not today.
