Good morning from my brother's house. He has one of those half circle windows that is letting the sun shine right in, it's a pretty day out. He and his wife are at the lake and I camped on their couch last night. Al and I went to the funeral the other day, the cousins were there, but he wanted to know for sure the plan, so I am glad I went. My niece and nephew went to see Dad Saturday and he was to have his ex-wife coming that afternoon so I just went to the farm and stayed over night. I don't go to the farm after the nursing home, so last night I came here and think I was asleep before 7, I was so tired at the n home that I was worried I'd not be safe driving, even in day light. I'll get dressed in a bit and head in. The ILs are having a cookout today and the Yeti is going, I don't plan to, not sure how long I'll stay w/ Dad, but will probably go to my house tonight. My brother will be going in to see him tomorrow. I guess that's my news from here.
I heard the weirdest sound a bit ago, they have one of those kitchen faucets that you wave your hand under to make it work, I always forget and turn it on. Well, the cat, who is not to be on the counter turned it on, but it was on warm. So, turned it to cold and then off after filling his water dish. These are some fluffy guard cats, who have a cat tree full of pudgy cats. You'd trip over them if anything. Thor-full black with piercing eyes, is giving me the once over right now. Spot-who is striped-loves to snuggle and Daisy who is a Siamese, likes her space. One of the workers at the n home brought her pup in yesterday, Dad was pretty happy, he loves pups.
Better get a move on and "make my bed" or at least fold the throw back up and get moving. Blessed be everyone.

Good Morning....
It's dreary and going to start raining soon. Suppose to be and all day on and off rain. My plants and flowers are loving it. Everything looks so healthy.
I did manage to have my coffee on the swing even though you could cut the air with a knife. But I'd rather be out there than in the house if at all possible. Probably be inside more than out today.
I saw the hummer this morning and, low and behold, there was another one but was being chased away. So I guess I have two that can't be there at the same time.
I planted another row of beans last night...so I hope they won't have any trouble coming up.
I heard a huge fireworks display going off last night in the rain. I could see some of them from my window. This place used to do them every year and we would always find a good spot to watch (when the kids were little). They stopped doing them several years ago, but I guess decided to start up again. Wouldn't be very enjoyable in the rain. Oh well......
Lauriet...sounds like I need one of those automatic faucets for my cat. He only wants to drink from the faucet. Maybe I could train him to turn it on and off. I use to be one of those cat ladies...LOL Now I only have two. Four was trying at times but a couple came to us under different circumstances and I couldn't say no. Those are the two I still have.
Have a great day everyone.....

Good morning. Another hot day and I'm done going out until I take Mandy out again at around 2. Nothing planned and church will be on line today. I am hoping to get to the bedroom floor today. Yesterday all I did was sit and cry. I didn't even snack, which is odd. Guess I'm just bored. Mandy wasn't too interested in doing what she was suppose to this morning so I brought her home. All she wanted to do was listen to far away noises. When Mark was in the hospital he said I could rehome Mandy. And to be honest I've been contemplating doing just that. If she were affectionate it would help, but she is far from that. I've never had a dog before that doesn't like a hug of any kind, want to snuggle, or receive affection unless a treat is involved. It's not much company when she is mostly in another room sleeping unless it is time to eat or go outside. She is too much like a cat and I would never have a cat and have it walking across my counters and such, nope. And I've done a bird, and they are way too messy. I'm better off with one fish they don't require a veterinarian either. LOL
I think brunch will be cold cereal today. Supper is anyones guess. My church in MN is about to start so I better get to that. I'll also listen to my church here in Yuma, on line as well.

It's a partly sunny day. We did have rain overnight. I don't know how much but everything is dry now. It's in the low 80's right now and it's humid. Church was good, we had a lot of visitors today. Many who used to attend had left our church several years ago, and they were the visitors today. We had a good attendance. I thought it would be low because of the holiday. Yesterday was a typical Saturday. I go the cleaning and laundry done. I walked last night and that pretty much was my day.
LAURIE Cute cat story.
CJ I saw the female and male hummers yesterday. The male I've seen once so far today. I'm wondering if the smoke didn't affect them in some way??? I'm glad to have the 2 but I'm hoping maybe some new ones will be coming later. Fireworks were going on in my neighborhood last night too.
ICOOK It's amazing how much dust gathers in a short time. Dusting is my least favorite cleaning chore. That's why I don't want/have a lot of knick-knacks sitting around. LOL
MAMMA I still have crying times too. Life has changed for many of us. There aren't words that can explain the feeling. I just know God is with me and knows about it, He does understand and this life is temporary.
I have a feeling there's going to be a Sunday afternoon nap happening here soon.

Good Afternoon Ladies - - - Not much new here in my corner of the world. Last night my friend came and brought pizza and then we opened a bottle of wine. It was good as I haven't had pizza of any kind for awhile. Casey's is a chain station known for their pizza, and they just started to offer thin crust, so we were going to try it. Thin is my choice, but I didn't really notice much different from there other crust. I think of thin as crispy, and this was still chewy. Anyway, it was good and we were both happy with it. Laurie, so glad you stopped and got off the road when you were so tired. Hope you find all is well with your Dad today. I know Al appreciates your company. CJ glad you could get out to your swing for a little. You seem to be getting some nice rains now. Have a good day Mary. Mammy, do you really think you could give up Mandy? She at least gets you out of the house every day. I understand your weepy days - - they will happen when you least expect it to, and you can not always know the reason why. You are still in that first year of firsts - - that is the hardest year. It doesn't get better after that, but it gets easier. I'm not sure, but I think only someone who has been there will understand that statement. I have not had one single day in the past 21+ years that I have not thought of DH, however, it does get easier to look back and remember times we shared together. Ellie, always nice when you have visitors at church. Hope you have an enjoyable afternoon, and enjoy the nap if you deceide to do that. I saw on FB that there was a house fire in our community yesterday or last night. I only know what I have been there, but it was a family that are between my kids in age and shortly after they were married, and had one son, who is now around 21, he was injured in a farm accident and has been in a wheel chair since. I don't think many people thought they would stay together, but they have, and have made a lemonaid from lemons. Now this, certainly more than any family should have to endure.

Hello grannies, the usual Sunday for me. Church then home for lunchnow whatever I decide to do. Maybe not the usual Sunday, as I was getting out of the car, at church, this morning., the corner of the door hit my leg. Just a little ouch as I went on into the church. When I sat down and looked there was blood all down my leg and even into my shoe! A real mess but lots of people to help, One brought tissue one held the tissue on the cut while another found the first aid supplies! Good thing I was there early. Last week it was the right leg. Maybe I should pay more attention to what I'm doing. This thin skin and the blood thinners sure result in lots of bleeding. I did get my shoe cleaned up when I got home. That was the excitement for the day.
Laurie, love your ability to tell stories in such a humorous ways. You should write children's books. Judging from what I have read to the kids here yours should be best sellers! Sorry that your dad is not doing better. I know it's a difficult time for you so here's a hug for you to use when needed.
Several mornings there has been a mamma deer and her tiny little twins in our backyard where I get to watch them. So little and so cute! Not so cute when the big ones eat my flowers!
Time to do some reading and relaxing

GREENBACK Here's a little hint of what I learned about pizza crusts. Especially the reheated ones that are usually soft/soggy when reheated. I put some butter in the bottom of a skillet and put the pizza in the skillet for a few minutes. Be careful not to burn the crust but the crust, (at least in my experience) will be nice and crispy. I do put the pizza in the microwave to warm it up a little before putting it in the skillet.
GRAMMY I'm so sorry about your "boo-boo." I can totally relate. There is a product/procedure, "Workman" that can be implanted and no more blood thinners. You can google it. It's a procedure like a catherization. The had planned on doing that for me until I had lung surgery, then they said, "your body has been through enough." So I'm not sure if it's something they might consider for me later or not. I am not sure if I will opt for it anyway...Do you mind me asking what thinner you're on? I am now on Eliquis. It's working much better for me than Xarelto did. Sorry if I'm being to personal here.

I'm almost done swiffing the floors The dusting of the hard to reach areas with my long handled duster will take me a few days to do. I go thru everyone room to do it. Heat index here is 101* Starting my supper. Making Tilapia with rice.
Elle My apartment gets exceptionally dusty. Linoleum floors in all the rooms except the bedroom which has a rug Tinker is allergic to house dust so the floors are swiffed or electric broom run three times a week Christina uses the electric broom when she's here.
Grammy I'm sorry to hear that you hurt your leg. I'm not on blood thinners. Just a baby aspirin every day.
Mamma Tinker isn't very affectionate, but very demanding. I have a hard time with her often, but she does keep me company. As Jane has said the first year is the worst. I cried for Earl every day for a year. Still get my moments. I look at his urn at times & talk to him.

* I can’t adjust the font size, sorry, I’m on my phone.
Hi again, stepped out for a bit and went to my sister’s. No one home but mooched lunch, in return I washed the few dishes that were there as well as the stove and counters. Then, I let her cat show me how sharp his claws are:
Franklin 🐱 1 🥇 My Dumb butt 😕🩸🩹
I will never learn. He was adopted and had had a tough life and doesn’t know how to socialize, I just keep thinking I’ll dazzle him. Pretty sure he said “bwahahaha” after he scratched me. The sanitizer I dumped in it felt wonderful 😳I see that with kids all of the time. Baggage for some is overwhelming.
Cjay-you can get a motion sensors pet watering bowl on Amazon. GB-love Casey’s pizzas, yum. We were at lunch after my PT and they had a pizza special, very tasty!
I’ll go to my house later, I’ve got the dogs’ food and they’re out at home. He ate pretty good and isn’t asking for pain meds, resting now. BBL

OMG, what a long day. I hate Sunday's. And it's too hot to go anywhere, that's my excuse anyway. Well I just don't want to leave the house. Although shortly I'll have to take Mandy out. The wind is rather gusty and there is a fire on some government land so the air quality is not good, then add the dirt. I hope Mandy is quick. I doubt I will change clothes to go outside today. Too hot for confining articles of clothing. No one will be out and about anyway.
Again, I've been trying to find a way to change how this room is arranged, but just can't figure it out. This winter I'll have a porch sale and get rid of some stuff that I no longer use and can get rid of the totes that are stacked in here. And then at least move the things in them to the cabinets on the porch. I'll be doing some serious downsizing. So for now I've given up changing anything.
Egg salad sandwich for supper and ice cream for desert. So I had better get to cooking some eggs.

The day is just zipping by - - Mamma, your egg salad sounds good. I have been boiling eggs and doing that or even just sliced ones on toast or bread. They have just been sounding good lately... I have my laundry/second bathroom that I would like to rearrange. Even by doing a remodel, I can't figure out how to get more useable space out of the space. Grammy, I was sorry to hear about your little mishap. Be sure to keep a close eye on it so it doesn't become infected. I worry about that more with heat. Ellie, I have warmed my pizza in a frying pan too - but have never buttered the pan. I have already rested it on a lettuce leaf if I have it,, and that worked good. Laurie, Casey's pizza is excellent as long as you have someone good making it - trouble is there are too many people that just don't give a hoot anymore. Mary sounds like you have had a busy day today - take it easy now. I shed a few tears of my own this afternoon. Just trickled down my check, not hard tears. I have had the cards that I got when I retired and at the time Noah was stillborn in a gift bag and it had ripped the other day when I went to move it, so I got a new bag and thought I would reread them while I put them in the new one. When I got to the ones from Noah, I got a little emotional, but now I am okay again. It was comforting to see all those who cared and fun to look at the retirement ones again - Hadn't looked at them for awhile now.

GREENBACK I love butter. When ordering toast, I tell the waitress I would like butter with toast on it. LOL Does putting the pizza on a lettuce leaf crisp the crust or is it more for crunch and flavor? I've never heard of it. BTW I also order ice with some water....Just me!
