Good Morning.
I'm going to be a day behind since it feels like Monday.
Yesterday was the parade that we walked down to with DD & Penny. DSIL ended up staying home with Teddy as he had been sick through the night. As Penny would say "he compuked in his bed". LOL
After she left I went to the store and got some potato salad and coleslaw to have with our hamburgers. DH said he preferred the hamburgers in the fry pan rather than on the grill. So that made it easier for me.
This morning as I was having my coffee on the swing, I saw the hummer visit the feeder that I had just cleaned out (it was full of ants) and put new food in. Then when it hit 9am I got the mower out and mowed the back yard. It looks so much better now. DH won't put weed killer on it so it is always full of dandilions and now the tall stems with the white ball of seeds.
Debbie...prayers continue for your mom.
Heading back out the swing to enjoy what's left of the morning. It's to get quite warm this afternoon.
Have a great day everyone.....

Good morning Oh what a beautiful morning..... not sure about the day, but I'll be happy anyway. Or at least I'll try and not let anyone upset my good mood. Although I do need to make a trip to WM to return my order and to the UPS to return an Amazon order. One never knows how a trip to WM will turn out when you have a return. hehehe
A load of laundry in the washer and then finish my morning tasks. When that is all done I should head out before the cooler weather changes to heat. Actually this week is much better than the next week. But as long as it's not humid I'll take the heat over the cold.
Blessings to all.

CJ have you tried an ant moat or an ant bell to help keep the ants out of the feeder. These do a good job some of the ants do make it to the food but most are kept out. Both of these things can be purchased.

Grammy....yes I have a ant moat on both my feeders but I tend to forget to check and they are usually dry. I need to check more often. LOL
Mamma...we are to hit the upper 80's for a few days but with low humidity. These are the perfect days of summer. Hope your returns go well.
DH and I made a run to ACE hardware. I needed to get my green bean seeds (I thought I still had some from last year) and a couple tomato cages. The wilted tomato plants I planted on Saturday are slowly showing signs of improvement. I hope they recover well. I did buy a couple more just in case. I planted them last night and they look good this morning.

I moved Grammy's post here since I think I knocked her down trying to get through the door
Good morning, it's another beautiful day with temps getting a bit warmer should be nearing 90 this afternoon! Blue skies and sunshine.
I moved back to the power chair last night and slept better. This might turn into my permanent sleeping place.
Nothing much to be done in here and not much I can do outside. I'm beginning to feel that I do little other than take up space. So much I would like to do but no longer can do those things. I've already been out to sit on the patio enjoying some of the morning sunshine. Also finished my book while out there. I will go outside to take a walk around the flower beds and see all the work that has been done. The others are trying to take care of them but they don't always know weeds from flowers!
I'm not an ungrateful person I do appreciate what they are doing but doing the work was most of the pleasure for me. Whine time ois over now to find something I CAN do

Good morning, The sun is shining and I may end up on the screened porch. My newest GREAT grandson came down to see me this morning. He is a wiggle worm. He likes to look at the ceiling fan. He will be 2 months old tomorrow. So hard to believe that. GrammyOH, I live alone but I feel the same as you wishing I could do more. I have that baker's cyst behind my knee (arthritis) and it has sure been hurting these days. And, my ankle is a long story as I have had problems with it for over 20 years. And, I have no energy. That is the reason I didn't go to Florida with my DD. She is going to call her ortho Dr. and see if they take out of state insurance. I may be able to get them to drain the cyst. I read where they do that. Funny, well odd but my brother has the same thing. It makes it hard to walk or get up and down. Old age is not for sissies. I had scrambled eggs for breakfast. And, steamed broccoli. I am going to have beans and kraut for supper I think. Sounds good. That is a new word, compuked. Penny is so cute, and I know the little boy is also. Jane, how old is Dawson? Mamma, I hope you get everything done that you want to. It is hard to realize that our DHs are even gone. But, there are a lot of us here that are widows. I am lucky to have my son and his family next door. I wouldn't know what to do it I was totally on my own. I paid the elec. gas. internet. cell phone all on the phone. Guess I will write a check for the water. They don't have that free service. I can pay it over the phone but they charge a percentage of the bill. So, it is pretty much local, that is the place where we go and where savealot is. So will drop it off, or send it by the kids. It isn't due until the 10th. I hope everyone is doing well. Debbie, hope your Mom is doing good. Be back later.

Good afternoon everyone! It's a pretty day with a bit of a breeze, we had quite the thunderstorm last night. I think I jinxed us, I watered MIL's plants-the ones I planted that were in desperate need of watering. Then, when I got back I watered the raspberry plants too, they won't need any attention until tomorrow. Tonight I need to meet someone about the tree that went down on Ann's roof, I may go over early and dig up some plants from the other house-I so wish that would be sold. I have a very touchy roommate right now, so I am not bringing it up at all.
Boy were the mosquitos out when I planted/transplanted. think too that I got into something else of the leafy variety. When I put my hands in warm water it about drives me up the wall. If it is still bothering me Thursday after using the goo I got before for this stuff, then I'll tell the dr. I came back from the IL's house yesterday when Tj & Kate were going to leave as I had gotten a barrister's cabinet bookshelf and needed help getting it out of the jeep and up to my space. It only took about five minutes with their help. I just stayed here after, I guess SIL helped w/ cleanup, which is fine as I did the beginning of a lot of that stuff. I asked #1 about the car getting in, June 21st was the 1st appointment. What do people do if their insurance won't cover a rental? That's just crazy!
Just had a call from my brother, we have a meeting about Dad on Thursday, just waiting for it to be confirmed. I do believe I am going to just sit for a bit-did a load of stuff that doesn't fit in the dishwasher, the DW is running, the washer is going and I scrubbed the shower. I only had to get on my knees four times, I took the suggestion here of a mop for the walls. I think I need to look at getting a long handled squeegee too. Anyhoos, that's it for here, have a good day all, blessed be.

A pleasant day here, but the end of the week temps. in the upper 80's. Christina was here & cleaned the bathroom & ran the sweeper. She picked up my meds. for me & got a few groceries.
Carolyn A lot of my bills are being paid with my debit card. Come right out of my check book. I don't have to pay for garbage or water here. That's a big help for me.
Grammy There are a lot of things I can't do anymore either. It's nice that we have someone to help us.

A nice sunny and warmer day here. It's near 90*. It's isn't uncomfortable to me because the humidity is low. DH and I used to love winter, snow, the more the better. But in our later years, that changed and we preferred the warmer weather. I can take a lot of heat now compared to what I did even 5 years ago. I went to prayer meeting this morning then ran some errands this afternoon. Now I am thinking about taking a nap but it's getting late. Decision to be made soon. :-)
Just waving and saying "hi" to my grannie neighborhood friends. Remember when it was the "Rocking grannies?" I do.... LOL

Hello - - The coffee gals were here this morning and then I got things in the dishwasher and put away and I just needed to rest, so spent some time in my chair with my eyes closed. I didn't nap, but did rest. My legs and knees have not recuped from that hike in the rock and grass on Sat. and still hurt. Carolyn, Dawson is 4 now and today was his first day at preschool and the new day care, so hope it went well - there is another Dawson in his class. Like Ellie, I am also going to wave - energy level is low!

Good evening, all. It has been a long day, but a good one as it seems my sweet mom has turned a corner for the better. Her meds got changed and the difference has been remarkable. She was alert today, had both PT and OT, a shower, and fed herself--and she ate more than just a bite! I am so thankful. Now to find a place that will take her Medicare Advantage plan (boy am I glad I was warned against those plans!) for rehab. But, I didn't have any input in what plan she got; my brother insists on taking care of anything financially related to mom which is kind of funny, because she has next to nothing. It seems the only facilities with openings and that will take her insurance and for a period of rehab are a long way from her home and from any of the three of us kids. The hospital social worker is working on it and we hope to have some direction tomorrow as the hospital has deemed that she is "medically ready" to be discharged to rehab and are anxious to have her discharged. But, she is feeling much better, the level of oxygen she requires has been decreased and she can now have the nose canula and doesn't have to wear the mask which made her hot and uncomfortable. Praise the Lord!
I couldn't sleep last night and was up at 5:30 to get my walk in before it got too warm, so I am heading to the couch for a bit. Thank you all so much for your prayers and concern! They made a difference!
