Good sunny morning! it's going to be another nice day. Yesterday was cool but warmer today then warming as the week progresses. I went with DD and her DH to Cosco yesterday. I got coffee pods and a rotisserie chicken. That was it. They had a cart full. I've decided to have the kids come for labor day we'll be cooking outside, probably brats and burgers. I have all the groceries I need to make a couple of desserts and the cheesy potatoes. Now to get the chairs, tables, etc. set up and ready. There will be just 7 of us as none of the DGC will be here to come. Today is cleaning, laundry, cleaning the car, and some outside work.
Have a happy day everyone. If this gets lost, please move me over to the right place.

Quick hello before we head to Decorah for the graduation party. They got here about 6.30. Good to see them and especially Dawson. It's a nice day, good for those having parties. We plan to go to the new steakhouse tonight. Then they will head back tomorrow. It all go's so fast. Enjoy your gathering Ellie.

GREENBACK Enjoy every moment of the day! Like you said, it really does go too fast!
Just something I'm wondering, with this being a "cook out" weekend, do you eat outside too? As a kid, it was always eating outside at the picnic table. My DH and daughters didn't enjoy that but I did and I miss it. The food even seemed to taste better/What's your feeling on this. I know we're all different and like different things.

Goodmorning grannies, it's a beautiful day in my corner of the 'hood. Lots of sunshine and blue sky with light breeze and temp heading to near 80 this afternoon.
Elle sounds like a nice week end for you with family to enjoy some good food and chat time. We do lots of grilling but most of the time we eat inside. What a shame we have a very large deck that doesn't get a lot of use. I'm the one who always wants to be outside when possible. I love to sit there in the evening but no one else comes out so I usually sit on my little patio and enjoy the evening.
My cleaning lady will be here later today but I'm in no rush I have nothing else to do today. I did move from the chair to my bed to give it a try. Not bad I will have to adjust to it again. That chair was too comfy! If I decide to stay in the bed I need to ask dd to move the pacemaker monitor.
Nothing other than the cleaning on my "to do" list for the day so I will spend some time in the sun and with Kindle
Hope to hear from Debbie today with some good news about her DM
Greenback so glad you have a visit from family. You are so right the time with them goes so quickly and the time away goes so sloooow! Must be something wrong with the calenday!
elle looks like I answered your question before it was asked! Our deck was used a lot as kids and dh all liked to be out there. Sure is different now

A beautiful morning of bright sunshine, no wind, and only 70ยบ. Door and windows open again this morning.
Yesterday around 10:30 or so Judy called to tell me that Mike was off the ventilator already!!!!! PTL And he was doing well, still a long ways to go though. Then she said she was wanting to go to Hobby Lobby and look at some lamps that were on sale, and asked if I wanted to go. Of course, it beats sitting at home doing nothing. I love spending time with Judy. We are opposites but get along so well. She helps me over some hurdles where I sometimes lose my confidence. When we got to her house we chatted for another hour. Great way to spend the day, or at least part of it.
The sheers that I ordered came yesterday. I now have a lavender sheer on the bathroom window. Not sure I like it but maybe once I iron it it will please me. I also got a black sheer and tension rod to hide the vacuum, mops etc from view. They are behind a cabinet in the AZ room and the mess is the first thing you see when you come into the house. It may be a bit of a pain to get things out of that spot now, but at least it no longer is an eye sore.
Sheets are in the washer and will hang on the lines to dry today. As will a load of towels. No sense using the dryer on such a nice day if I don't have to. My arms will protest, but so be it. hehe They aren't ever happy.
Oh I also got a battery operated doorbell. I'll put it on the front railing. The gate is always shut and shades on the porch are drawn, and with everything closed up I don't hear knocking many times. Some times Mandy doesn't catch it either. Not sure how it will work for me but worth a try. We don't have kids around here to mess with it at least. Although in the winter some of the birds act like spoiled two year olds. hehehe
Jane, safe travels and have a wonderful time.
Elle, you always have family around for the holidays. That is so wonderful. You are indeed blessed.
God is good.

GRAMMY I hope to spend some time in the sun too. But right now, I'm so lazy and need to get my motivation up and moving. Are you reading a series book or something else? I really should do more reading but my fingers like to move, thus games on the computer, knitting and things like that.
MAMMA It's great that you could be a company to Jane and she to you!! You both need each other. You are making a lot of changes in your home and they all sound very nice.

Elle, as a child when we cooked outside we ate outside. It was always a treat to eat out on the picnic table. We didn't have a porch or deck but the large picnic table was outside in the back yard. Dad did the grilling and mom did the rest. Great memories, thanks.
Grammy, Mark and I never used the outdoor patio or porch much either. In the summer many times Lincoln and I would eat lunch on the patio. We aren't much for the great outdoors. Even though we spent a lot of the summer at a camp grounds with our old 63 converted school bus.

Elle, as Judy said, when we were married our homes were "unisex". Now it can be more "female" if we choose. So I'm adding some feminine touches, that are all very inexpensive. Nothing fancy just a touch more frilly. I hate the drab gray curtains in this room, but they will have to stay for awhile. The AZ/this room was more Marks rooms so it had nothing frilly or fancy at all. Now it's mostly craft so some day I would like to find some curtains that reflect that.

Good Afternoon....
It's a very sunny and warm day so far. We got up early and headed out to breakfast at a new place in town. We waited about a month so they could work all the bugs out. It was good, but very pricey in my opinion. They are open for breakfast and lunch. The parking lot has been full since they opened. We tried it, but not sure when we will go back.
I got my veggie garden planted. Now I hope the plants will grow. I'll wait a bit before planting my green bean seeds, but I have the space ready.
When I was a kid, we didn't have a picnic table in the yard. Dad grilled very occasionally. We always ate inside. Now I have a table on my patio and we eat out there quite a bit in the summer. DH doesn't do grilling, so I am usually running inside and outside to check on things.
Hope Debbie has good news on her DM today.
Have a great day everyone.....

A nice day here too like most of the grannies. Haven't watched the weather channel yet today. As of last night temps. in the upper 80's for next weekend. Have most of my dusting done for today.
Elle My family always spent all the holidays with my moms sister. I never knew my mom well. She got sick when she was pregnant with me. Thanksgiving was at my parents house, but my aunt did most of the cooking. We always ate outside.

I enjoy reading your grilling/eating outside experiences. Times was so different then. But life goes on. My girls and my DH didn't enjoy eating outside either. So it was not something we did often. DH and I did enjoy our morning coffee on the deck though. And boy oh boy, do I ever miss that!!!
Where is/has JUSTME been. I'm missing her for quite a while now. Check in JUSTME!!!
