Another nice day for us. It's 57 and sunny but to get to near 89 this afternoon. This sounds like a near perfect week for us. Today is coffee, as usual for Tue. morning and then off to PT this afternoon. I will have a different gal again today but I can't remember who she said it will be. I tried the home canned meatloaf last night, but I can't say that I was overly impressed. It tasted different that the meatloaf I am use to having, but that could have just been this receipe. I will finish it, maybe a sandwich, but know that it's not something I would ever do. Of course, I wouldn't do it if I really liked it either, I got rid of my canning things when I moved, and I wouldn't trust myself around all of the hot things now days. Not much happening here yet, so hope you all have a nice day.

Good sunny morning, it's going to be another nice day! I'm going to prayer meeting in a few minutes. Concerning a wedding picture, if you go to facebook, type in my name, Elaine Carlin Lethers, it should take you to my page and there will be a picture of the bride, groom and family. I also can email you a link that will show the same picture. I was still tired yesterday and I think a nap will be part of my afternoon again. I do have a "to do" list so I need to get my mind in gear along with my body. LOL
GREENBACK, Good morning and thanks for opening the door for us. I hope you have a wonderful day.
Coffee is ready, help yourself!

Goodmorning grannies, another beautiful day with sunshine and low humidity. I love these days.
I hope to go outside for a little work. Seems I don't get much done other than sitting on the garden bench and wishing I could do more. I will remove a few weeds while out there. DGD had put several pots of flowers around my patio. They look very nice but watering is a problem. The outdoor faucet is in a place that I can no longer get to! I thought an thought on this then decided what I needed was a nice heavy duty hose that would withstand constant water pressure. DD went to Lowe's yesterday, while I was at rehab, she found just what I needed also a nice nozzle for it. Now the water is turned on, very slightly, and I can water the plants whenever they need it!
Elle the wedding sounds like a lovely one and a very special time for you. DSIL officiated at his dd's wedding he also baptized both dds.
Greenback I would just freeze the meatloaf and not go to all the work of canning. I often mixed enough for two meal cook one freeze one. Enjoy coffe time.

Good morning. To have a happy Mandy I have the porch door open for her to lay outside for a bit. It won't be much longer and I'll have to close the door. But the fresh air and her happy is a good way to start the morning.
One load of laundry today and clean the dirty floors, dust mop and scrub. That ought to get me up and out of my chair and off of my big butt.....at least for awhile anyway. hehehe
Today I'll have a big lunch of steak and mushrooms, that I was to lazy to make yesterday, and supper will be quite small. But if I don't get moving here, it will be too hot to be on the porch to even cook a rare steak.
Jane, canning meatloaf sounds positively awful. I can't imagine canning meat period. The only thing I've ever canned is pickles, fruit and tomatoes. Meat goes in the freezer. Enjoy coffee time and I hope that PT goes well for you.
Elle, I hope you don't mind that I posted the wedding picture here. Not everyone has a facebook account to see the picture there.
Grammy you wish you could do more and I wish I could get off my butt and to do more. Aren't we a pair.
Blessings to all.

THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH MAMMA!! I definitely do not mind, I was hoping someone would do it. Thanks. Prayer meeting is over. I wanted to get a couple of things from $ General so I did that before I came home. Lunch was pork chop, baked potato, broccoli salad and pretzel salad.
BTW DEBBIE I made it yesterday and it did not set up!! I just kept the juice and poured it over the strawberries etc. Still tasted good but I definitely wouldn't serve it to anyone. LOL
GRAMMY You're a happy camper now that you can water your plants! It's hard accepting that we can't do what/as much as we once did.
I need to get the kitchen cleaned up then check on my to do list. I hope to mark some of the things off.

Ugh, all the floors are done, Robocop and scrubbed. The rugs got a good shaking out as well. The new kitchen rugs Robocop had to do, they needed a vacuum cuz shaking didn't cut it. Mandy is as happy as is mamma. I have some t-shirts on the line and when they are dry I'll bring them in and then start the outside oven for my steak. I'm hoping I keep up the pace and get a few more things done. But I have to take breaks to rest my arms. It's the breaks that do me in for the day. Once down, I tend to stay down. Maybe a trip into town later today just to get out.
It has gotten quite windy. No surprise with that, living in Yuma. So the porch will need a sweeping again when it settles down. I think this time I'll use the leaf blower it's much easier on the arms and hands. Adaptations of senior life.

Good Afternoon....
After a chilly start and coffee on the swing, I got myself into gear and raked the garden space that DH tilled up yesterday. So many weeds grow in there when not in use. So lots of raking to get as much as I could. A load of laundry got done too. We decided to go out for lunch as there isn't anything here that appealed to either of us. Now I'm ready to start planting my flower border out front. That always takes quite a while. Maybe this evening I'll get the tomato plants put in or maybe wait till tomorrow as the temps are to drop tonight.
Elle...love the wedding photo. And your dress is so pretty.
Grammy...glad you now have a hose to water your flowers. Your family is so good to you.
Greenback....I'm with you...canned meatloaf does not sound appetizing. Enjoy your coffee time.
Mamma...thanks for showing Elle's pic. Sounds like Mandy is a happy camper today.
The cookie decorating class was a lot of fun. Even though the instructor said ours would look just like hers in the picture she had for us, mine didn't look quite that good. But they are cute and delicious. Something fun for our group to do. Now we are planning our next game day. Here's a pic of the cookies I did.....
Time to get to the flowers.....Have a great day.

Good morning, it is 75* and kind of hazy here today, we had a lot of thunder early this a.m. so not sure if it planning to rain later or if it is still from the fires up north. Just got clean sheets on the bed and need to finally make the one downstairs, I'm a bit slow on getting to that one, it's too easy to just shut the door. Yesterday was crazy busy, the Yeti took his mom to the dr about an hour and a half to the east where she got shots in her neck/C1 they then ran errands and Aldis. I went w/ FIL to his stress test in Fargo which is about an hour and a half in the opposite direction; I went to do some errands while he was in his appt and JCPenny was not open yet, so made one other stop and Caribou. We tried to get some plants at Menards and struck out. After we all got back to their house the Yeti and I went to the Amish greenhouse-nicer plants, better price and I put in an order for cukes for pickles later this summer. We went back and I got her six planters for the deck put together. We'll see how they do in a couple of days and see if I need to add more, I kind of think probably just a bit to fill in some gaps. Also, I have some small American flags to put in them for Memorial Day. I told him I've hardly been to his parents' house lately and was there three times yesterday. We got home and I took a shower and that was it! He's off to another appt w/ his Dad this a.m. to read the stress test. I opted to plant the stuff last night and stay home today, I think it was a good choice. There's some stuff that needs to get done here but I don't want to be on a ladder w/o anyone around as my knee is still being a pain-dr appt for that next week. Anyway, I need to get off my butt and get to the bedroom downstairs or nothing will get done. Blessed be everyone.

Yest. I attended a veterans memorial service. The "Ride for the Wall" motorcycles were there. It was a great day and so many were there. I loved it. Today, I am trying to wake up. I didn't rest so well last night. I am making another afghan for Jimmy, Red and black. My DGD's baby has found his hands. So cute. Not much news here so will come back later. Hope everyone is well. My oldest daughter is 60 today. I texted her a happy birthday. PS I had a great weekend. Thank you Debbie for posting pictures of baby Elijah. He has discovered his hands I made a big salad and did laundry. Be back later

Good afternoon to all. It is a beautiful day here. We got back here about 9:00 last night after a long day of work for Mike and a day of visiting an Amish community and its assorted stores and a long walk several times around a nearly deserted outlet mall next door to the hotel where we stayed. The place is huge and there are only 4 or 5 stores now occupying it. It looked like a ghost town, but its sidewalks and parking lot made for a great place to wall for over an hour.
Got bad news while I was there yesterday, though. My mom took a very nasty fall backwards in her little apartment and fell heavily against a big grandfather clock that her dad (my Grandpa) had made. She had to push her life alert. All 3 of us kids were notified by the life alert and my brother (who had just taken her to the eye doctor earlier that day), beat the paramedics there and he said he could her her screaming in pain and panic from the parking lot! It was determined she has a hairline fracture of her L4 vertebrae and the ER doctor was inclined, because of all the metal in her back, to just prescribe pain meds and rest, but then the CT scan indicated some pneumonia in her left lung! That was quite a surprise as she had no symptoms other than allergy-like ones of a stuffy nose and itchy eyes. So, she has been admitted and is being given antibiotics and two kinds of high-powered pain meds. A spine specialist was in very early this morning and he has ordered an MRI to try to get a better look at what is going on. My mom's back is a mess and has been for decades. She has had five back surgeries, two with fusions, and has more metal than bone in her back. She's running a fever today and has no appetite and whenever they move her, she cries out in pain.
I am still here in IL, my brother is not working right now (shocker!, but I am glad he can be there with her and for all his other faults, he is devoted to Mom), and he is giving me regular and thorough updates and the doctor has prescribed quiet and as much rest as possible for Mom right now anyway. Both my DDs have offered to go and stay with her until I can get home this weekend, too. But, right now, I am just taking it day by day and will pick up and go whenever I need to get there. I feel like this is going to be a very serious, long recovery for her and may end up with an assisted living assignment for her, so I will plan on being home to help out with that as much as possible.
Elaine, the wedding picture is just stunning. Love your dress and your flowers and enjoyed seeing the lovely bride and all the family! You are a beautiful grannie!
Jane, that canned meatloaf sounds "interesting". You might try sauteeing it in a skillet or baking it in the oven a bit for the sandwich you planned and that might make it more palatable.
Grammy, love your solution to the flower watering problem--where there is a will, there is a way!
Mamma, my grandma canned beef and now my DD cans beef and it is absolutely delicious! We love it over noodles, rice or mashed potatoes. It's like succulent stew without the veggies and so nice to have in the pantry for a quick meal. It was the original easy meal for our ancestors! I bet you would change your mind about canned meat after trying it!
CJ, your cookies are awesome! You did really well and enjoyed good fellowship as a bonus.
Laurie, you and the Yeti are to be commended for all the help you offer his parents. The planters sound lovely.
I'm going to clean the bathrooms here quickly and hopefully also dust my car out. I swept it out at the carwash last week, but the inside needs more attention than just vacuuming. I also want to either ride my bike (I'll be careful) or maybe walk some laps in the pool for the first time. I'll have to see how cold the water is.
Wishing all a wonderful day and soliciting your prayers once again for my sweet mom, Betty. Thank you.

A busy day here. Christina was here & gave my oven a good cleaning. My best friend Julie stopped by too. She took Tinker for another walk. She got three walks today.
CJ The cookies look great. You did a good job decorating them.
Debbie So sorry to hear that your mom had a bad fall. I'm glad she has Life Alert. I have one also.
Elle Beautiful picture of the wedding.
Grammy I know we get upset that we can't do what we used to do. I'm glad I can still do some things. I'd be lost without Christina.
Mamma Thanks for posting the wedding picture for all of us to see
