Good morning
Yesterday I met with my doctor for his opinion on surgery and to help me understand a few things. He told me that I would have absolutely no use of my right arm after the surgery. And since I live alone I would have to stay in a rehab for 6 to 8 weeks. Well that is not happening. He suggested I find someone to stay with me if I won’t go to rehab. Huh, like who would be able to stay with me that long that I would drive crazy or drive me crazy. Just home health care would not be enough. So I’m not having surgery until I can not do anything at all. Pain or not.
On June 7th I meet with a pain specialist at the Bone and Joint clinic by the hospital. I’ll see what he has to say. I don’t have any faith the pain management crap. But I will listen to him anyway. He may be able to give me a cortisone injection that goes deeper into the area of pain. But I’m not sure of that either anymore. And it doesn’t last either, it’s just a bandaid for the real issue.
I’ll just deal with the pain if I have to. I won't leave my home for 2 months or Mandy for that long. I’ld have to give her away. None of that is going to happen. I’m so upset I could just scream, but for now I’m just crying. I don’t like not having control of things around me. If my mom can live with the pain of RA for years I can live with this pain until God calls me home.
And no I can't go back to MN for the surgery, my insurance is through AZ. MN is different, that is why I had to change Humana and Medicare policies when we became AZ residents permanently. Crazy, I know. I couldn't go back to MN anyway, what would I do with Mandy other than re-home her to someone else.
So please ignore my complaining about the pain, I'll try not to though.
Sunny, windy and warm. The man is to be coming to fix the brakes on the golf cart today. I plan on having him show me how.....if it's something I can do next time, I will have the knowledge.

Mama I am sorry you are in pain. I can relate, as
mine is the ankle n knee.
I went to the sr citizen lunch yesterday. It was very nice.
Then I stopped at dollar store. Needed baking soda and sour cream.
It is cool today. In the 60's.
Had to turn the ac off.
Will be busy this weekend. Hope I can manage.
Going to a grad, party at my cousins. It is her grand daughter party.
I have peach cobbler, strawberry cake, fruit salad n watermelon to take.
Going to have some breakfast, and get the watermelon cut.
Hope all of you are doing well.
One of my great grandsons turned 12 yesterday. Here is a picture of him.
I hope everyone is having a Good Friday.

A nice day here. Sun peeps in & out. Fridays are my lazy day before the weekend & the cleaning I do.

Mamma I'm sorry you are in such pain. I would be in the same shoes as you. No one to stay with me if I needed surgery. Both of us need our DH with us, but the good Lord decided he needed them.

Good sunny morning, and it's warmer than it was yesterday. I have the cleaning done for another week ,except maybe a swipe here and there. This is rehearsal dinner day and I have my food prep ready to go. DD and her DH will be taking me then DGS will bring me home, just because. How sweet is that?
ICOOK Lazy days seem to be more and more for me. I always say "not today, maybe tomorrow I'll so it." Sometimes tomorrow is more than a day. Anyway, enjoy your lazy day.
CAROLYN No picture of your grandson. I don't know how to get pictures here. The food you're taking to the graduation sure sounds good.
MAMMA I relate to everything you said!! Although I am blessed with family close to me and a nurse being one of them. Just remember we have the same God and we're his child. There's not a day that goes by that I don't hurt and feel lonely, even though I'm with family/friends. No one will ever take the place of our spouses. I do understand your frustration, emotions and loneliness. Hugs and prayers for you, Cindy.

Goodmorning grannies, it's a beautiful day in my corner of the 'hood. Warm sunshine and a light breeze temp will be near 80 this afternoon. Feels like summer time without the humidity!
Mamma so very sorry that the dr didn't have better news for you. Just take it easy and don't try to do too much in one day. I understand your problem with being in a care facility. Sometimes we just have to let God have his way with our life and continue to pray for wisdom and strength to face each day. Prayers for you.
IC enjoy the lazy day. Just rlax with tinker today the dusting ccan wait. Yes, we do have to accept the changes in our life some are so easy but God will be there to give us strength when the hard times come along.
Carolyn sounds like you have a nice weekend ahead of you with the party. All that food will be appreciated and enjoyed. As we get older seems there is always something that needs fixed> Yours it the ankle my back is not nearly as painful since I have one shoe about 1 inch higher. That sure has helped. Hope you have a great time this weekend
Last night was a nice time with the two dgd we went to a place in a near by town that is famous for burgers, chicken and steak were also on the menu. The girls had scrumptious looking burgers with choice of things added to them. Yumm they were dripping juices! Thinking of my low salt diet I chose the steak salad which was an excellent choice. A big variety of lettuce with lots of good things added then topped with what I call "nekkid" steak no
marinade or rubs it was great as I always grilled steak with nothing added. I had enough left for my lunch today.
Another day for rehab this afternoon and that and some time to sit in the sunshine will be my 'busy" day

Good Morning Ladies - - - chilly again today - but sounds like it is going to be a nice week coming up. I'm not moving too fast this morning but I am moving. Had a good time yesterday.
Mamma, I am also sorry that the Dr. didn't have more encouraging words for you. Maybe that shot will help for awhile - lots of us here, actually most of us, are very understanding of your situation, with having constant daily pain, and being alone to face these kind of problems. I would not have had to go to the NH following my surgery if I had someone home with me, but, of course, that wasn't an option, so off to the NH I went. We all feel the lonely days with out our mates, but it's just that I have had more time to adjust to that, even if the loneliness never go's away. You are still new on this journey. You do what you can, and then you have to shut an eye to what you can not do. So off to PT this afternoon, and hopefully it will extend the days that I will be able to care for myself.
Carolyn, it sounds like a nice weekend for you to enjoy - I'm sure the goodies that you are bring will be enjoyed by many!
IC, enjoy your slow day - you and Tinker can snuggle a little more today.
Ellie, I know you will have a great weekend - I loved that DGS wanted to bring Granny home tonight. How very special and I know it will be a forever memory for you.
Grammy, your meal sounded great last night - - I had thought of having a salad yesterday, but was rather chilly, so wanted something warm, and like your gals, I enjoyed a good burger.
Debbie, I was sorry to hear about your bike accident - - I hope you aren't too sore and bruised today. Those things happen so fast that we don't really know how they happen.

Good Morning....
Swing time with my coffee this morning. It has warmed up quite a bit and feels great out there.
I hope to do some work on the garden area before DH tills it up. Lots of weeds around the edges that need taken care of.
I was so happy to see my pair of ducks back last night. Don't know where the male has been, but he was back with his mate last night. I would love to know where their nest is.
Mamma...so sorry to hear your doctor report. I'll keep praying that you have more good days than bad.
Carolyn...you have a lot of yummy things to take to the party. Enjoy.
Elle...exciting day for the bride and groom. Enjoy your time with them today. Tomorrow will be another exciting day.

GrammyDebbie...oh no...hope you aren't too sore today. I know how you feel, I fell off my bike in my own driveway last year. I was trying to do something and when I hit the brake, my foot got caught on something and over I went. Very embarrassing and hoping my neighbors didn't see me...LOL I had a huge knot on my shin for a long time.
I have a strawberry/rhubarb pie in the oven. Smelling pretty good in here.

Ronaldo is here working on my brakes of the golf cart. He found that the pads need to be replaced. Looking at them they are very thin and had I waited any longer the drums would've had to of been replaced as well. I'm so glad that he came when he did and that I didn't wait any longer to get them looked at. He just left a few minutes ago to go purchase new pads, once they're in and the brakes are reassembled and the wheels back on, I should be good to go. He's a real sweet young man and I got to meet his wife today who is just a sweet lady too. I'm anxious to have brakes that work so when I have to go down underneath the solar panels to take Mandy out in the afternoon I won't keep rolling and end up plowing into a metal beam. He kind of reminds me of Mark, in the fact that he will work on and try anything. He loves to research just as Mark did. His wife said that he loves to learn new things. I'm so happy I found this nice handyman.

I’m sitting here this afternoon with an ice pack on my (used to be) good knee. That seems to be my biggest ouchie. A bit of road rash on my face and left arm. But, last night I was a limping, sore gal. Left knee was badly swollen and very sore and tight. This morning, it was much better, and I was able to take my morning walk, but it is still not bending very well. I have decided to lay low this afternoon. We will have leftovers for supper instead of our usual eating out on Friday night since we will be traveling to other parts of IL for Sunday, Monday, and maybe Tuesday and will be eating out then.
CJ, thanks for making me feel better by relating your bike story, I don’t know what happened either!
Grammy you made me hungry for both burgers and steak salad!
