Good Morning....
It's a cold morning and not warming up much past 60 today. At least the sun is shining. I brought all my flowers/plants in the garage last night. Not taking any chances.
The hummer was back yesterday. And the lone female duck. I have a feeling something might have happened to the male. It's not like them to be apart.
Coffee is ready....have a great day.

Good morning grannies. It's a bright sunshiney morning with some wind and a chilly52*and only going to the mid 60s this afternoon. Where did those warm days go?
Not much happening here till afternoon then I go to rehab and that will be my busy day. DD and DSIL left this morning with the kids heading for a trip to the ARK it's just South of Cincinnati. They will be back home Friday. The tour of the Ark will be tomorrow and they have a stop in Cincinnati at the Underground Railroad museum. That means Chef will be driving me this afternoon.
I was looking at my grannie quilt and thinking about all the grannies that sent the quilt squares. It was many are singed and dated 2007 those years have gone by so quickly. I plan to look for an old list to see if I can identify the unsigned ones. Sad to see how many have died and how few of us are left. I made some extra squares to make it a twin size quilt and have been using it while sleeping in the power chair. The chair is so comfy I don't know if I want to sleep in the bed again! The grannies warm me at night.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's just 51 here, but like yesterday, I have hopes of another beautiful day. It was 80 on the bank clock when I went to PT yesterday. It was a busy day with coffee in the morning and then PT and then going to the Amish Haystack supper with SILL & BIL. When I got home from PT, I sat in my chair so I could put my legs up for awhile and when I got up, they felt like jello! I guess I got a good workout, and was fine when I was doing it, but sure was tired afterwards. Today my cleaning couple are to come. I have some pulled pork left from the other night, so will have a quick and easy supper after they leave, and that's about my day! The weekly paper comes today, so I can read that. CJ, I liked your thoughts about the male duck being on the nest yesterday, better than your thoughts today about what happened to him. Laurie, enjoy your day at home today - - - As usual, I'm sure you will find something to do for others. You are such a blessing in the lives of so many! Grammy, so glad that the grannies can put their arms around you and keep you warm and comfortable while you are in your chair. If you have some that you don't know who they are, I may be able to help. I have mine folded and over the back of a chair that isn't sat in often, but every once in a while I unfold it and then refold so different blocks are on top. It's been over 20 years that many of us have been together so lots of changes have happened. I sure do miss so many of those that have gone on before us. You asked about why I was going to PT -- Well, we are hoping to strengthen my legs and improve my balance. I hope it will help, but even if it doesn't, it won't hurt!

Didn't feel like getting up this morning. Wanted to roll over & go back to sleep. Tinker was sleeping right next to me. Had to get up to get my Meals On Wheels They come between 10 & 10:30 Not doing anything today. Just chilling. Chilly temps. here for several days but the sun is shining.
Yesterday when I was sitting on the glider with Tinker I saw a huge bird with long legs & neck walking across the street. Don't know what it was. Never saw one here before.

Good morning After taking Mandy down I stopped and visited with Sharron on her porch. Her nephew is still here and staying until the 23. He is such a nice young man. We had a nice visit but it got too hot for me to sit out there. My chair was in the sun, so I'll need shower again. hehehe
A load of laundry is just finishing and then I'll hang some things on my porch lines and the rest will go in the dryer. I'm still waiting to hear from Jose' to fix my brakes. I've no plans of going anywhere today other than take Mandy down in the afternoon. I'll stay inside where it nice and cool as much as I can.
Grammy you talk of the grannie quilt had me in tears. I lost all my quilts etc. and it breaks my heart to even think of it. I'm so happy that you use your. It does bring back fond memories. I still cry over all that we lost.
Jane, I had my grannie quilt on display just like you, and changed the visible squares too. Great minds. hehehe
CJ, I hope mommy duck will have her partner return to help her if she has eggs. So exciting to watch their sharing of duties.
Laurie, enjoy your day off.
Blessings to all.

Sunny and a cool 60* here and not to get much warmer. The sun feels good and looks wonderful. It will always "light up my life." As do the Grannies. I also have my quilt! All the years, tears, changes but still together!! It coffee at the Cabin today. Last week I had my favorite mango smoothie but today it most likely will be the hot steamer. I have the back part of the house cleaned so tomorrow I hope to finish the rest. I will also need to fix the strawberry pretzel dessert and a jello dessert so tomorrow will be busy for me. Much, much better than boredom and too much time to "think."
CJ Today is the 2nd day I havent' seen my hummers or oriole. I put fresh food out yesterday and will maybe do fresh today too. I hope the male duck comes around.
LAURIE Enjoy your day.
GRAMMY I do hope to get to the Ark some of these days. It's about a 5-6 hour drive from my place. I hear many wonderful things about it. Yes, the quilt and memories can bring cheers and tears. Enjoy the day and maybe do some reading on the Kindle today. Any new birds at your place? How are the flowers doing?
GREENBACK Oh my, do I relate! While I'm moving I'm fine, energy!! but when I sit down, whoosh! it's gone! LOL I hope the PT will help your legs. I know you don't want to fall and are careful.
ICOOK I wonder what that bird was? Maybe a crane? Tinker must have been very cozy and warm while you slept.
MAMMA I could use some of your warm/hot weather today. I'll probably be complaining soon enough about the heat. Although, I've told myself I'm not going to do that. We'll see. I hope Jose will get your brakes fixed soon. It's nice you have someone who can do that for you.
Lunch time here.

I have the doors open. Made a strawberry cake n a peach cobbler for this weekend. Invited to a graduation dinner Sat. And tomorrow is the senior citizen luncheon. Jane I have lots of leg issues too, stemming from a broken ankle and a bakers cyst behind my knee. A product of arthritis. Laurie and Debbie I wrote a letter to the airlines. Will have to see what they say. If I didn't have my walking disability I would go to Panama Beach and visit my DHs nephew and his wife. She is facing a lot of health issues. She could use some prayers. Her name is Teresa. Not much news here so I will Be back later.

Good sunshiny afternoon to all. It is a glorious day, weatherwise, here in IL. I walked four miles this morning around the lake in the apartment complex and just came in from riding my bike here for the first time. I just rode around our complex, the adjoining apartment complex, and the retirement home complex that adjoins that. Thankfully, I remained upright the entire time, but my artificial knee did let me know it was being bent more severely than usual.
I don't have a granny quilt, but I have very fond memories of two meets in Lima and a meet with Jane, Glee and MJ in Prairie de Chien. I was also lucky enough to visit twice with Carolyn in Mississippi and once with GrammyOH, her DD and good friend in Sedalia. I also had the privilege of welcoming Jane to my own home. Precious memories indeed!
Laurie, enjoy your well-deserved day off.
CJ, poor Papa Duck! There is a momma duck and some baby ducks that run around our lake here each morning as I walk.
Grammy, the Ark is awesome and I know your family will enjoy it immensely.
Jane, I am really hoping that the PT helps your legs and applaud you for deciding to try it. My legs are a bit shaky after my bike ride--it's been a while!
IC Cook, I wonder if you saw a crane?
Mamma, so glad you have such a good companion in Sharon.
Elle, your "light up my life" comment reminded me of the song by Debbie Boone. It was sung at our wedding in 1979!
Never a dull moment with Mike's work. He called early this morning with the news that he (we) will be going to Tuscola, IL, for at least two days next week for some hydro testing they need there. Both he and his boss said "send somebody else", but, nope, they want him, so we will go. I just made hotel reservations (they will pay for that) and he was pleased to learn that I have no problems going with him. Another little adventure is the way I see it--but, then I am not the one working at a new location on a new project!
Maintenance just knocked on my door, they are going to bring new racks for my oven--yeah! Wishing all a great day!

Hi again, boy am I not doing much. Had to make some phone calls that I don't have time to sit on hold for at school and one even gave me her name to call her back specifically. I just got done cleaning some strawberries that we bought a few days ago. They were a great deal and I'd almost forgotten about them, so they have had the caps taken off and have been cleaned and rinsed. I think they'll just go in the freezer, I did have to eat some for a quality control. I've a bunch of mini cupcakes left that I made, trying to decide if I can make a dessert with them, but may just take them to the potluck at church tonight and see if they go there-butter pecan w/ cream cheese frosting topped w/ toasted coconut. I thought about breaking some up, mixing some cool whip and cream cheese or vanilla pudding, adding the cupcake stuff and adding some strawberries? Any ideas?
Carolyn-did you get your ticket through an agent? If so, they should be able to help you, it shouldn't be a total loss.
Since the laundry won't get put away I best get to it, blessed be everyone.
