Good Morning.....
The sun is shining for the time being. I think it will get cloudy later. Everything is blooming or popping. Looks very pretty out there. This is the part of spring that I like...all the fresh colors.
Today is Penny's birthday party. I have a feeling she is going to be overwhelmed with people and presents. Last year she didn't want us singing to her and then she wouldn't blow out the candles. Hoping that being 4, she will enjoy it all.
Did anyone watch the King being crowned? I watched a little of it.
Hmmm....still saying I'm a guest. How do I get back to my regular status?
Have a great day everyone....Coffee is ready

Good morning grannies, it's a beautiful day here also sunshine and the temp is has reached 70!
CJ yes, it's a beautiful time of the year! everything is green, growing or blooming there is sunshine so we can get out to enjoy the day. I hope Penny enjoys the party today. Is the party for family or kids? They can be overwhelmed with all the attention.
My cleaning girl was here for a short time this morning but will return later today to finish the work. She has to go to a choir rehearsal this morning. They will do some Disney songs and skits tonight. I thing this is her last year for the choir she will age out now that she has reached 13.
I received an early Mother's Day gift. I was surprised to see two strange people hauling the garden cart filled with weeds to to burn site. DD had hired some help to get the flower beds cleaned up. A mother and daughter were doing a great job. I might have lost some flowers in the clean up as they didn't always know weeds and flowers. It does look good. I wish I could keep it looking this good but this old grannie probably won't be able to keep up with it. I was a very thoughtful gift from dd.
I need to get out to the patio and enjoy some of the sunshine

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's dark and gloomy here this morning - I have the light on! We had a couple of loud claps of thunder last night at 6 and then it rained heavy until about 6:30. Not sure if it is to clear off and sun come out or not today - I guess I will see as the day go's on. Not much happening around here this morning - slept until 9 and didn't really want to get up then, but it was time! Nothing planned for the day. CJ, I hope Penny enjoys the party and the special day, just for her. Those years go by so quickly. Have a good time --- by the way, spring is my favorite season - I love watching everything wake up and come to life after the winter. Grammy, what a nice gift - I know your DD knows how much you miss your flower beds and so nice of her to help in this way. For every flower that got pulled by mistake, there will be that many more that will survive and not choked out with the weeds.

CJ Sun is shining here too & a little warmer today. I'm sure Penny will be OK at her party today. I watched some of the coronation. Got up at 6:30 & laid on the couch to watch it. TV watched me most of the time.
Grammy That was a nice Mother's Day present & a thoughtful one too. It's the weekend end. That means cleaning for me.

Good morning Chilly this morning and Mandy really wasn’t interested in going potty, just snooping. So this afternoon I’ll take her out earlier and maybe twice so as not to mess up her routine.
The sheets are washed and hanging on the lines. Dark clothes are just about done and will hang to dry as well. Not using the dryer sure saves $ on the electric bill. If I don’t have a lot to hang up it’s not so hard on my arm, and I do love the fresh line dried smell. I had the towels on the lines yesterday and almost forgot about them. Cookies are mixed and when I get back from the clothesline I'll get some in the oven. Not sure my arm will allow me to do the floors or not. Robocob will have to do it alone and a better job than usual.
Temps are warming up again but not in the hundreds like they were earlier. It’s nice having the windows open for the fresh air.
Grammy how nice to have that job done for you. Sorry some flowers were considered weeds.
CJ, I do hope that Penny will be more receptive to a birthday celebration this year. No, no crowning to be watched by me. No interest.
Jane, I would love to sleep past 6:30 again. For some dumb reason my internal clock thinks I need to get up early. I would say it's time for a new clock. hehe

Mamma...no real interest about the royals either, but I did turn the tv on this morning and they were showing some of it.
Almost time to head to the party. First we have to go get the great grandmas. Hope DMIL can handle the noise and commotion. We warned her and she still wanted to go. It's a party of family and some of DD's friends that have kids about the same age.

CJ, Your MIL and I are the same. I can't handle a lot of little kids anymore either. I'm too used to the quiet. Even squealing ones, that won't quit, in the stores set my teeth on edge. I do hope everyone has a wonderful time.
Oatmeal raisin cookies are done and cooling on the racks. I wish I had doubled the recipe, these won't last long since it is such a small batch. Well maybe I can bake some more yet this week before it gets too hot to bake. Mornings are still quite nice.
There is more of a breeze now so my laundry should dry nicely and not take all afternoon to dry. The bed is made with clean sheets and I've dusted in the bedroom. Now to let Roboco loose to do the floors. He is on his own today.

Good Saturday afternoon to all. It is cloudy here, but the rain they have predicted for recent days never seems to materialize--either here or at home--and we need it in both places.
We got moved into the apartment yesterday and it is nice. I have to get some command strips yet, and figure out why the silverware we keep as our "traveling set" never made it on the trailer, but, otherwise, we are moved. I have to admit we might be getting too old to do it all ourselves anymore. Even though we don't have that much furniture, it is enough straining and lifting, pushing and pulling, that it takes a toll. I spent the daytime hours moving in and setting up what I had been able to get in my car, the Spectrum rep came and helped me get the TV set up (boy this streaming stuff is for younger people--not very easy to use and seems to completely disregard local channels--I guess most people get their news off their phones now and not the TV?--and then, about 5:45 Mike got here with the trailer and we unloaded it all, got the bed set up and made, took the trailer back to the storage yard and went to Cracker Barrel for a bite to eat about 7:45, so we didn't think we did too bad. Late evening, when we got back, I made his lunch, unloaded boxes until I dropped, and then wondered why I didn't sleep very well. It was nice not having all the pot smokers that were at the extended stay share their smoke/smells with us. I am amazed at how many people apparently live there full time--some with kids and pets to boot, all in one room with a tiny kitchenette and a bathroom. Not a lot of ambition was evidenced among those folks, unless it was getting their next toke. We are probably paying for it, too, as none of them ever seemed to go to work, they put their kids on the bus that stopped by the hotel each morning in their pajamas and met them in the afternoon in the same attire. Okay, enough judgment from the crabby old lady.
CJ, happy party day to Penny! I watched some of the coronation this morning as I unloaded more boxes. Mike was a bit (actually a lot) miffed that it was all that was on all TV channels. He likes his morning weather and news.
Grammy, K is 13?!! Oh my goodness! Will you be going to hear her choir performance this evening? What a perfect and oh so thoughtful gift for Mother's Day!
Jane, so good to have you here regularly again--it just wasn't the same without you!
IC Cook, I chuckled when you said the TV watched you for a while this morning--LOL!
Mama, it was 5:30 for me this morning; 5:00 for Mike after a tiring day/night for both of us. I didn't walk this morning, wanted to get everything caught up and stocked up for him. I do find myself getting very sleepy if I sit down in the afternoon these days, though.
Waving to all. We are headed home this evening, both driving separately. I have the dreaded test on Monday, prep day tomorrow. It is Emmett's birthday tomorrow (#10!), so Mike will go out to lunch with him and the rest of his family to celebrate. I got him several KC Chiefs things unbelievably cheap at the Academy Sports store up here, some football receiving gloves (he needs help receiving--he has his Maw Maw's athletic ability, which is not much--but he sure loves football), and we are helping send him to a football camp (just a one-day one) hosted by a KC Chiefs player in Columbia, MO, in June. Mike has heard that I-70 is being closed for repairs in the St. Louis area this weekend, so we will be taking a different way home--I hope I can follow him! Thank goodness for GPS, if I lose him!
It's district track meet day for Eli, I sure hated to miss that. He loves throwing discus and was ranked in his conference and was hopeful for districts, but Jess texted that he made the top nine and got to advance to the second round, but then nerves and pressure seemed to take over. Lessons learned the hard way often stay learned, though, and he is just a freshman, so there is next year for him to compete again. Proud of him for making it this far--and he still has javelin and shot put to throw this afternoon, but those are not his strongest events like discus.
Love to all, hope those that need rain get it and others that don't get lots of sunshine.

Mamma I like the smell of clothes that are hung outside. Can't do it here. I put rugs over the railing out front to dry. No complaints yet.

Hi everyone, home and here for the rest of the weekend. If I don't have to go anywhere besides the yard until Monday morning I'll be thrilled1
Got the Jeep back, they "think" it is fixed-they'll leave the ticket open for a couple of weeks, so glad this is all under warranty. Next time the dash lights up like a pinball machine I am not to turn it off and let the Yeti take over--sort of what I did....Found out there is a recall out there too, but no "fix" has been discovered, that is weird. Went to the farm to see Al-looks good, n home to see Dad-looks tired, but better than he has. Aldi's and Marketplace Foods for groceries, struck out at Fleet for something the Yeti wanted. Stopped at a cafe in a small town that a cousin used to own. I haven't been there in about 25 years and I'd be good waiting another 25 and $ General for a quick item and then at the Amish store. Stuff is put away and I started the dryer. That sounds like a lot, but here I sit! My friend called about the coronation, we and a group of others got together for the big royal wedding in 2011, so we talked for a bit. I've got a to-do list as long as my arm, but the 1st thing says "sit on butt, do nothing" so that's my plan. It's raining now, very gently, that should take care of any snow that is left. I watch the Father Brown Mysteries and the Sister Boniface Mysteries-I need to watch the end of one. FB takes place in England in the 50s and SB about ten years later. Both are "Whodunit" type shows, her's is a bit sillier, but I like them. I saw FB on Netflix first but now watch it on PBS when it comes out or on BritBox on Amazon prime. It's like $7/month to add that to prime, I don't spend too much $ on myself, but I do that. Also good on BritBox is Murder in Provence.
Carolyn-if you've saved the pic to your computer, you should be able to do this: 1-start a post 2-click on add attachment-that should bring up your "finder" and locate the pic (I usually have the one I want in my Recent category) 3-click on pic and hit upload ***If you get a direction that says the photo/file is too big, you will need to adjust that. If so, that is probably under the heading of tools-adjust size. I usually just make the first number that it gives as 1000, it will adjust the second one. 4-click upload 5-click insert 6-click done 7-tada! That's how I do it. Let me know if you need more help, I'll try to be helpful or will call my kid and ask what to do.
