Peel and slice 4 apples. Place in well greased 8" or 9" pie tin.
Combine 1/4 c. sugar and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples. Cover with foil and bake at 400* for 20 minutes.
Cream 1 Tbsp. butter and 1/2 c. sugar, creaming well. Blend in 1 beaten egg and 1 tsp. vanilla. Sift together 1/2 c. flour and 1/2 tsp baking powder. Blend into creamed mixture.
Spread over apples. It won't cover completely but it will when baked.
Bake 20-25 minutes.
Serve warm or cold with whipped cream or ice cream. Enjoy!!
