Peel and slice 4 apples. Place in well greased 8" or 9" pie tin. Combine 1/4 c. sugar and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples. Cover with foil and bake at 400* for 20 minutes.
Cream 1 Tbsp. butter and 1/2 c. sugar, creaming well. Blend in 1 beaten egg and 1 tsp. vanilla. Sift together 1/2 c. flour and 1/2 tsp baking powder. Blend into creamed mixture.
Spread over apples. It won't cover completely but it will when baked.
Bake 20-25 minutes.
Serve warm or cold with whipped cream or ice cream. Enjoy!!

Thanks Mamma. I had it for supper tonight and I had some caramel that you can dip apples in. I put some on the apple impromptu and put it in the microwave, took it out of the microwave and added cool whip and oh my!! rich but sooooo good. Keeping you and Mark in my prayers.
