Good morning. I slept in a bit, I'll go in after bit, 10:30-3:30, the teacher that I subbed for yesterday is gone today as well. Her daughter was induced and hadn't had the baby yet. I am off tomorrow as I am going to my dentist appt and also have two meetings after. I am still on a quest for my Passport as I need to take care of all of that in the morning too. I'll BBL, blessed be.

Good Morning....
It's warmer this morning and the sun is coming out. Could possibly get a light brief shower.
I'm thinking about making Tomato Jam today with the tomatoes left in the garden. I found a recipe that sounds very easy, so I'll give it a try. Long time ago, DMIL made some tomato relish or jam (can't remember what she called it) and it was so good on hamburgers and other things.
Not sure we are going for a walk today...I'll wait and see what DH does. He's been busy discussing things with his brother about their mom.
Not much happening yet.....Have a great day......................

Goodmorning grannies, it's a chilly Sept morning with overcast skies, no sunshine this morning. I sit here with my coffee each morning and wonder what happened to the beautiful sunrise that I watched so often. I can only remember one morning, a few weeks ago, that we had a pretty sunrise.
Laurie good luck as you search for the passport. When is the trip to Europe supposed to happen?
CJ that jam sounds like a good one. I used to make a green tomato relish that we liked. Hope things go well for DMIL
IC what a bummer to have the TV acting up and not knowing of the prob is cable of the TV?? That's a steep charge for the house call. Is it free if it's a cable prob?
The shopping trip went well, other than a few tears when she had to make her choice if dresses. She finally narrowed it to two and I wouldn't buy both. Just too pricey for both of them She finally decided on the dark floral print dress with a fake pink leather jacket nice choice. The runner up had a long dress length sweater with it. On to the Red Robin where she had an ordinary cheeseburger and fries!! She really liked the birthday sundae but not the birthday singing. Anice time for the three of us.
Got to get my things together and out the door for Bible Study

Good morning What started out cloudy and muggy turned into sunny and muggy. The sun should move the muggy's out soon. A bit on the windy side today with a mix of clouds and sun and a possible shower thrown in here and there. We could use the rain, but not the wind. We've had enough wind this summer.
Just a quick swiffer to the floors this morning is the only thing on my to do list. I could clean off the porch again too, but will I? That is the question. My steak and mushrooms supper was so good and enough for another meal. It will probably be my lunch or supper today. I don't mind eating something twice in a row. Mark would never do that. I've got food in the freezer to make meals so I really need to start thinking ahead and take it out of the freezer and cook the food. Meal planning has never been my strong point. I've much rather bake. That couldn't be because of my huge sweet tooth? hehe
CJ, I was just thinking of your MIL last night. I hope the boys can come up with a good solution for all. I've made tomato jam, but never used a recipe and I don't think sweet would be good on a burger. So you and I are thinking of two different types of jam. hehe
Grammy, decisions are tough at that age. Heck, they are hard for me at my age. I'm glad that she finally made her choice. Bill said that the sunrise here this morning was beautiful. I don't get up that early. Nope not me. LOL Sorry you missed it.
Laurie, I hope school goes well today and you find your passport soon. Is it a card or a book? I keep my passports in my wallet, just in case. But Mexico is the only other country I go to and it's only 20 minutes away. So it's like going into town, just the other direction. The boarder patrols at the gate to get back into the US, are the most rude mean people I've ever met. And I've met some really mean people.
I better get to the floors before it gets any more sticky in here......... ttfn

Icook...my cable used to go out and the tv signal would be all scrambled. When the cable guy would come out, he would check at the pole first and it was always a squirrel had chewed into the wire. No charge for them to put a new cable from the house to the pole. Maybe something to think about.

I was not feeling well yesterday so I stayed in bed all day. Got up long enough to eat some oatmeal and toast. Today is very cool. I have a sweater on as I am always cold. I have a appointment on the 2nd. I have a bakers cyst behind my right knee and it is very painful at times. I am hoping to get it drained and not have knee surgery.
CJay, my MIL used to make tomato preserves. Probably similar to what you are making. It took a lot of sugar to make. Hope you all have a good day.🌺

Good Morning Ladies - - - 66 and cloudy - I wait until early afternoon to open the sliding door when the sunshine comes in! Since the rest of my week took a big change about yesterday, I have a free day today - guess I can do whatever I want - - the hair is now cut! The paper comes today, so will read that, but it seems to take less time each week, unless a nap slips in while I am reading. Laurie, hope that passport turns up quickly - frustrating when you know it's somewhere around, but the question is where!!! CJ, I'm not so sure that the tomato jam sounds so good to me, even though I like tomatoes. Hope all go's well for DMIL - I know there are many decisions to make. IC, I would check with your building office and maybe they could send someone over for a peek before you call the cable company, just in case it is something simple. The weather could be a factor too, especially since it came back on. Grammy, it's good that you were able to find a nice dress, let alone 2 of them. Hard to make those choices, but a good outcome. Lunch sounded good to me too! Mamma, I never mind eating the same thing for a few nights in a row - in fact, I cook to have leftovers so I don't have to do it every night.. I have some green beans in the frig that I need to snip and cook today, that I brought home from my sis on Sunday. They are always a good treat! Carolyn, I hope you are feeling better today - hope that knee isn't bothering also.

The sun is shining and it's warming up. It's supposed to be in the low 80's the next several days. I was cold most of the day yesterday and really could have used the furnace but knowing it's warming up, I just layered and put my nice warm housecoat on later in the day. Today is coffee day so my afternoon is planned. I got a haircut this a.m. I have the back part of the house cleaned and will do the rest tomorrow or whenever.
LAURIE Good luck with the passport search.
CJ I hope things are going well for your DH's mother. Such a hard time for family, decisions, decisions. I have had tomato relish and absolutely love it! I could eat it right out of the jar.
ICOOK Is Christina's son feeling better? I've had cataract surgery in both eyes. I imagine your optometrist will get you scheduled soon.
GRAMMY And all seemed to end up well on your shopping trip with the birthday girl. Tweens and teens have such a hard time...I love the sunshine in the morning but seldom up early enough to see the sunrise.
MAMMA I don't mind the same meal 2-3 days in a row either. As long as I don't need to cook. LOL The steak and mushrooms sounds so good!! I didn't realize you was that close to the border.
CAROLYN It seems like you have the key that lets you in the GN now. I'm sorry you wasn't feeling well yesterday. Enjoy today.
GREENBACK It's haircut time in the GN! LOL You mentioned the sun coming in the window and I thought of the dirty windows that live here. LOL

Good morning to all. It is a pretty day here, but starting to cloud up a bit. I hear it is lightly raining back home. That is good as I bought mums from Eli to support his FFA chapter and I left them in shallow trays of water, but some good rain on them would be very nice.
I'm still "arguing" with the management here to see if we could be released from our lease at the end of September or on October 5, since our lease is up on November 5. Mike's previous chief inspector lived here a couple of times before for various jobs and they were always very flexible with him, but they are standing firm against our request. I will keep trying, but I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I can see that many apartments here are empty as I walk every morning. Our rate was locked in for our lease, but I understand it is being increased significantly when leases expire which likely accounts for the departures.
Still not feeling all the best, although the antibiotic seems to be helping the sinus symptoms, but is also starting to mess with my stomach. Also, the sore on the backside of my tongue is stubbornly refusing to get much better. Maybe if I just wouldn't eat? But, here I am, thinking about lunch.
Grammy, maybe someone else in the family can go back and get Cassandra's other choice of dress now that they know she likes it and it fit. But, I admire you for standing firm and only allowing her to choose one. I likely would have caved--LOL.
Laurie, good luck with the passport search. That must be so aggravating and sounds just like something I would do.
Jane, enjoy your free day. I no longer subscribe to our local paper. I gifted my mom a subscription for the last few years and I only pick up the Sunday paper. Like yours, ours is in a new, much slimmer format. And, it is now a morning paper and not an evening one and the news in the paper has already occurred the day before.
CJ, I've had things similar to the tomato jam on gourmet burgers at restaurants and it is quite tasty. I think I am giving up on our tomato plants in the pots on the patio. Only got a couple so far and only three or four green ones on the two plants combined right now. The big pots they are in would be two more things we could go ahead and move home.
IC Cook, I agree with the suggestions the others have offered before paying such a steep fee for the TV technician. Or, find a young person and see if they can help with the issue!
Mama, I wouldn't want to go back and forth to Mexico, myself. I would be afraid I couldn't get back in! But, I am sure I would feel differently living as close as you do. By the way, I took your advice and made a skillet apple fritter cake yesterday afternoon rather than riding my bike. It looks and smelled delicious, but didn't get done until after supper so we haven't tried it yet. Although, I thought Mike was going to have some for breakfast, but he must have decided agains it.
Elle, enjoy your afternoon coffee with friends.
Carolyn, hope the knee can be helped without surgery. Hope you are feeling better today.
Love to all...going to see if I can rustle up some lunch....

When going into Mexico we cross at the Los Algonones entry. And we never drive in, we walk, in..... It is a tourist area consisting of many shops, restaurants, dentists, optical, pharmacies, and much more. It's really a fun place and highly patrolled by law enforcement. They want the American tourist trade so we are probably safer there than most anywhere else. All the inside trade (businesses) is VERY clean. No kind of weapons are allowed when entering. If you have something and it is found on you on your way through customs, you will be serving time.....in Mexico. Not a place to be. The streets and most sidewalks are in very bad shape and in need of repair. There is a lot of pan handling and outside venders like food trucks as well. But I just say no thank you and walk on. Everyone is very polite there and respectful as well.

CJ My TV in the bedroom is working fine that's why I think it might be the cable box. It was out a few hours before it came back on.
Elle I haven't heard from Christina I'm assuming she's coming tomorrow. I have an appt. with the opthamologist(sp) next Thursday afternoon.

The Tomato Jam is done and quite tasty. It will be good on hamburgers, hotdogs, on top of meatloaf and what ever else you want to use it on. It's like a fancy spicy ketchup. One suggestion was on crackers with a little cream cheese and topped with the jam. DH liked it a lot. It has a little heat to it. Next time I'll use less red pepper flakes. I went and picked the rest of the tomatoes in the garden...so I can make more jam, and/or tomato sauce to put in the freezer. The mosquitoes were fierce in the garden. They were having a feast on me.

Hi again. I am going to the passport office tomorrow, so I expect my passport to come out of hiding about five minutes after I get home. I can renew w/o the old one, they prefer you have it though. Sounds like an early December trip, #1 and #2 are planning all details. It's to celebrate the big 60. I was at school today, only had two classes, two more opted out. So, the principal said I could do my mandated training while there. One of the guys who does one of the videos-let's just say he is tough to listen to, I had to keep getting up to stay awake! Tomorrow is a trip to the passport office, then to the dentist to get a night bite guard before I have more jaw issues-I'm a clencher, then a zoom meeting followed by an in-person one. I'll be night time by the time I get back. It'll be nice to not set my alarm. I'm working now so I feel better about spending the $ on the trip and we are going to each pitch in some $$ for a propane furnace for Al. That's it for now, see ya on the flip side!
